Mañana, mañana...

I'm in procrastination mode. Nothing new, but it's been building up to new levels. I wasted (yeah, wasted and not waited) until the last day of the sale to try a bass amplifier. All the store had was one floor model. I didn't want a floor model and I wanted 2 identical, so they (supposedly) sent 2 from warehouse. One was in the original manufactures box the other was (obviously) a floor model (missing the owners instruction manual) put in a used cardboard box and packed it in Home Depot bubble wrap.

Bubble wrap doesn't hold well on things weighing 40 pounds and the corner of the box crushed in transit, taking a chunk out of the corner of the speaker cabinet.
Two hours wasted with customer support and they are express delivering a replacement, but I have to returned the damaged amp at a UPS station.

I started charging batteries to fly model aircraft today and will finish this morning. I got to bed late and figure I'm at least 2 hours behind schedule. My original plan was to go to Miami, fly with some friends and after go to the salon for a haircut with the stylist I've used for a decade.

Mañana, mañana... I'll do that tomorrow.

mañana is Spanish for tomorrow. I use that word often.

Sitting on a powder keg, holding a stick of dynamite, fuse smouldering.

If any of you ever had a loaded gun pointed at your head then you should have a very slight feeling of how the people of Israel and the Middle East is feeling.

Palestine knew the consequences when Hamas attacked Israel but they chose to look the other way. Hamas is NOT Palestine.
Who is Hamas?
HAMAS–the acronym for Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (Islamic Resistance Movement)—is the largest and most capable militant group in the Palestinian territories and one of the territories' two major political parties.

Yesterday Israel dropped very many pamphlets telling civilians in, a nearly flattened city, Gaza to flee north. Just flee. Where to, only God knows.

For the first time in years, Israeli forces will have to penetrate deep into Gaza, a coastal enclave where thousands of Hamas militants operate out of an underground network of tunnels, while also hiding among civilians.

So far only Hamas is at war with Israel but what happens when Hezbollah joins in against Israel?

Who is Hezbollah?
Hezbollah is a Shiite Muslim political party and militant group based in Lebanon, where its extensive security apparatus, political organization, and social services network fostered its reputation as “a state within a state.” Founded in the chaos of the fifteen-year Lebanese Civil War, the Iran-backed group is driven by its opposition to Israel and its resistance to Western influence in the Middle East.

How powerful is Hezbollah?
Hezbollah wields significant power in Lebanon, where it operates as both a Shiite political party and militant group.
It opposes Israel and Western powers operating in the Middle East, and it functions as a proxy of Iran, its largest benefactor.
The group has faced unprecedented scrutiny from the Lebanese public amid the country’s political and economic crisis.
Nowadays, it has precision guided missiles. In addition to potentially bringing more sophisticated weaponry and fighters into the current conflict, Hezbollah's intervention could rope in other parties, too. Hezbollah is part of a coalition of Iran-backed fighters who are still stationed in Syria.

I say when Hezbollah enters the war then we need to be even more afraid.

My thoughts are that Israel will begin the ground offensive very soon, either tomorrow or the next day.

God be with the GENUINE innocent.

The Ring of Fire...

There will be a solar eclipse tomorrow morning, Saturday, October, 14, 2023 that will run in an 'S' curve diagonally across the United States, through Central America and sweep out across Brazil.
Starting around 8am in Oregon and goes to 10:30 in Texas. They are the lucky ones to see a full eclipse. With the exception of the the northeast, Pennsylvania to Maine are out of the path. More than half of America should see some of the eclipse.
It's called a ring of fire because some places will see a perfectly aligned eclipse where the sky will darken and only the outer edges of the sun will show through giving an illusion of the fiery ring.

Yahoo has a news story:

Time & Date actually have an interactive map showing the graduated areas of the most eclipse.

Always, there are warnings not to look directly at the sun, only former presidents can do that. Use a pinhole projector or specialized eclipse glasses. Always there will be reports of people losing their vision because they stared at the sun without proper protection.
Don't be a statistic.

Da Numbas...

It's always entertaining to work around someone who grew up in New York City and cannot get around the accent. One salesman would say "Da Numbas" when the rest of us knew he meant 'the numbers'
In business, the numbers means so much. If you have to sell enough to keep the business going. That said, you have to sell high enough to turn a profit. It's all in the numbers. Or, as they say in New York "Da Numbas."

Lots of things going on this week and I haven't had the time to read/watch news as much as I usually do. Mentioned before, I'll scan a story and go to the reader comments, as they often have things to say that are more important than the news story itself.

I see there's a blow-by-blow on what's happening with Trump and the New York fraud trial.

The former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg had a bad case of amnesia and couldn't answer the many questions he was asked while under oath. That's okay and often the prosecutor asking the questions often has the answer and it's just a matter of procedure if the witness is willing to lie or not. Considering Weisselberg already spent time in jail he wasn't going to do or say anything of value.

One of the reader comments talked about the numbers that I found interesting:
Only 13 Presidents failed to get re-elected.
Only 5 Presidents failed to win the popular vote.
Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned.
Only 1 President has ever been criminally indicted.
Only ONE President has done ALL FOUR

"For years, a high-ranking accountant at the Trump Organization was the point man for ensuring that tweaked numbers padded Donald Trump’s wealth on paper.

But when he appeared on the witness stand at the former president’s bank fraud trial last week, the accountant’s supposed finance expertise suddenly vanished into thin air."

New link:

Trump is still complaining in public he didn't get a jury trial.
But the truth is he's not admitting what really happened.
The jury request should have been formally requested from his attorney.
There is a box to be checked and they ignored it.
A blunder by his lawyers and he's trying to make people believe it's a corrupt judicial system.
