Time to buy Christmas presents and the most expensive hand creme ever..

I have been gathering Christmas wishes from the family, so now it's time to buy the presents.

I will spend my Saturday buying the gifts, so my weekend is gonna be a bit expensive, but it will be worth it. I am able to get people what they want for Christmas - something I was unable to do when I was unemployed. Also, my sisters fiancé has a 30th birthday on December 15, so he'll get an extra gift on the 24th of December.

In other news: My hands have been very dry - to the point where my skin has been splitting, causing bleeding and pain. I bought a repair creme today, and it's 100ml, or 3.38 floz.

118 danish kroner.. That's insane, but if it helps, it'll be worth every single kroner.

The Good and The evil

The Good comes from God and the evil comes from devil.
God do no bad, devil do no good.
God is Perfect and Good,in him is no darkness and no bad. He has power to judge and punish evil and sin.
in whatever way you turn there is no solution without God.
Perfectness comes from God and imperfectness comes from devil.
Do good and away from evil.
in whatever is from Good is from God.in whatever is from evil is from devil.
believe and obey God and you get saved from sin and from evil.

Stuff we take credit (or blame) for...

The language is such that often it implies we did stuff that we actually had little or nothing to do with..
Such as....

I grew my hair long. No you didn't, you just didn't cut it.

I hurt my arm. What, did you like take a hammer to it?

I grew my fingernails. Did you? Really?

I fell asleep. Did you take a class to learn how to do that?

I went to the bathroom. Partially correct. Only partially.

I didn't digest lunch so well. Probably was sleeping through that class too.

feel free to add your own......

Beyond Belief

To get a good idea of what you actually believe, look at your own life.

if you hold to a certain belief, you will think and feel according to that belief.
If you think and feel a certain way, you will act that way.
Actions create your experience of reality and you get the evidence that supports that initial belief.
It is a self generating cycle that reinforces itself.

Now, many beliefs have been instilled early on by your family upbringing and the culture and society one finds oneself in,, but have you considered that you can change beliefs that no longer serve you?

You are actually beyond belief unless you say you're not, but that too is a belief and a choice.
If you say you believe in nothing, that too is a belief and choice.

Core beliefs have an aggregate of other beliefs tied to them which support each other.

It is always your choice.

Applying for a new job in a different country is exhausting.

Anyone who knows me, will say that I am someone who has a desire to make it in a different country. I was born in Copenhagen, 39 years ago, but Denmark has never truly felt like home to me. I don't know why, but something in me tells me to leave and never return. I almost succeeded back in 2014, when I secured a job in Scotland. I spent 2 and a half glorious years in a little town called Greenock, and I loved every single minute of it.

Next year, it'll be ten years since I made that move. Do I want to work abroad again? Absolutely! Where do I want to work? Well, that's a little bit harder to answer.

Of all the places I have been, two places stick out to me: The United Kingdom and the United States of America. I just have a small issue: Both those countries require a work visa if I want to work there. How do I get one? By having a job offer from an employer in one of those countries. How do I get a job offer? By having a work visa.. It's exhausting!

But - that has not deterred me from applying in those countries. As I am typing this, I am applying for warehouse jobs in the USA. I figure my European work ethic will benefit me well there. My work ethic is to work hard, be on time, don't have a sick day and take as little vacation time as possible. I only take the amount of vacation that I need to take.

My work ethic is spotless. I come to work every day, always willing to do overtime and I am pretty much always early. If I am late, I phone up my boss and tell them.

I figure that kind of work ethic is something that will benefit me in the USA.

So now I am in the process of writing up applications to different warehouses! One of them must need me, surely..

Mike Portnoy is back with Dream Theater...

13 years ago, drummer Mike Portnoy at the top of his career, decided to leave the group Dream Theater. After dozens of exhaustive auditions, the band selected Mike Mangini to replace him who played on an impressive one-third of their studio albums.
A year ago some negotiations took place and Portnoy decided to return to the band he helped form.

That's a bitter shock to Mangini and he took the change diplomatically stating:

“I understand Dream Theater’s decision to get Mike Portnoy back at this time. As was said from day one, my place was not to fill all the roles that Mike held in the band. I was to play the drums in order to help the band carry on," Mangini humbly states, "My main role of keeping our live show working tightly on a nightly basis was an intense and rewarding experience."

Deeply appreciative of his time in the band, he continues, "Thankfully, I got to experience playing music with these iconic musicians, as well as some fun times laced with humor. I also really enjoyed spending lots of time with the crew. And then there’s the Grammy win, which was amazingly satisfying."

Bidding farewell, he concludes, "To the fans: thank you so much for being amazing to me. I cherish the pictures I have of you all losing your minds and having fun. Finally, I really love the band, crew and management and wish them and the entire organization all the best.”

Mike Mangini performed well, going far more than he would have without his 13 years with Dream Theater. His new worth is reported $10 million and that in itself is an amazing accomplishment for a musician.
Having heard and seen videos of both drummers, I have to admit Portnoy has the edge on him for technique and assertive style. I'm sure Mangini will soon continue his musical success with another supergroup. He deserves it.

I blogged about the Canadian band RUSH having lost their drummer to cancer, had no plans to reunite. I thought Portnoy would fit that role, but it's too late. Mangini would be next in line for the gig!

McCartney and Rush...

Canadian rock band RUSH called it quits after their drummer Neil Peart passed away in 2020. They have been to a few tribute shows and appearances but decided not to continue as a band. If Paul McCartney's suggestion has any weight, Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee may have some motivation to reunite.
Could this be another Rush in the making?

McCartney has offered to be their manager.

My thought would be "What living drummer would be up for the part to replace Neil?"

First choice... Mike. Unfortunately, after 13 years away, he rejoined Dream Theater.

I like to look back or 'Sometimes I like to look forward'

I like to look back at my own comments on other members' stories.
This site has changed somewhat since covid lock down when we were all told to stay home and stay inside.
to me it was no different. Except for wearing a mask my life changed not one bit with regards to me leaving the house. My biggest regret is not witnessing the TP grab. I saw it on TV but seeing it in person would have been to die for. So sad I missed it. Just before Xmas I got sick. At first I thought it the flu and wasn't even slightly worried even though I'd never had a flu jab. But I was getting on. Still am if truth be told. None of us are getting physically younger. Some mentally but everyone of us physically; something my Cardiologist seemed intent on making me hear. Thing is he wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know, if he was going for the shock tell me your worries about dying. He is a Doctor. It is what I'd do, if I were a doctor. But I'm not. I just know my own body having lived it second by second, minute by minute year after, so far, for more than 63 years. Besides, the way I figure it, one second you are alive and the next you are dead. Dying hurts and I would only wish a slow death on my enemies, preferably over several hundred life times but I've been known to have a nasty inventive side. I once cursed someone who did me a great injustice; I wished he would live forever and never physically die. Unless you think about it, it doesn't even look anything like what we are taught mean is. Most curse people dead knowing that is the worst thing that can happen to a person. I don't believe in the one life religious line. Yes, this specific particular body I inhabit is unique in that unless it is perfectly cloned, this body only lives once. Never once have I argued that. Never once also, have I ever imagined what happens based upon what religion or TV and movies tell me to believe and in doing so accept.
How would they know?
They wouldn't and they don't.
Not that I could tell you not that you'd believe me. Just like I would not believe you unless it matched identically with what I've seen with my own two eyes. I learned at a very, very early age that everyone I had met or encountered up until that point, was lying to me. It effected me so much I decided it would be something I would learn how to do. 38 years later I started to write. I discovered I could easily lie in print or tell the absolute truth and no one would ever know the difference.
I like writing. I am so glad I found this hobby.
Anyway, that's it for now. Not this body for now, not that I really care; just this blurb. I am pretty sure of one thing, when I'm dead i will think no more on this temporary transport vehicle and either look forward to the next one or decide to just take a deep sleep before finding a new one. I also don't believe the afterlife has gates to keep you out. You know what gates are also good for? Keeping you in. I told that to my Sunday School teachers when they started lying to me. Sorry, i mean when I worked out that they were lying to me, Not one of them had physically 'eye to eye' seen God. Or Jesus. My problem back then, I Believed that what they were telling me was true. I then realized my parents had lied to me too. Then and there I decided the only way I was going to fit in this insane asylum, I would need to learn to lie or simply look away from the truth.
I found out I was shit at both... so in my terms, I've lived a pretty good life. I added somethings to my Nature and chose not to add others. All in all, my Cardiologist, if you all no longer exist in my mind a second after my light switches off, how will I know? JS, no point in worrying about it. I won't know, and unless someone who knows me tells you, you also won't know.
Maybe i should have titled this 'Sometimes I like to look forward' ? Never did say why I like to read my prior comments. Oh well, 94 letters left. Too late now. Maybe later, maybe never. I won't care if you don't. W.

Judge Cannon...

Judge Aileen Mercedes Cannon was selected to hear the case of Trump v. United States in August 2022. Since then, she's been in the news almost on a daily basis. With so much coverage, I'm surprised there is only ONE photo the news media uses of this woman. One.

I say, "What's up with that?"

Seriously, aren't there any selfies with her and Donald at a Mar-a-Lago dinner party after he appointed her to the position?
