Laundry

When people lie to you, do you think they know?

Is it intentional, this
spiral they put you through like ropes on a pulley, strips of cloth
spinning round the washing machine
as a child
painted to the brim
pokes gleefully at the bended glass?

Laughter bubbled away
into silence; airtight inside.
White linen stretches and snares
in the spokes, ripped
edges frayed.
Plaid summer dress flops over
tiny knees balanced on doll toes,
a chubby arm swaying
in slow motion, pointing,
red paint on the tip
of her nose, scrunched eyes
glisten under a dripping shank of
summer -
blond hair.

Beware of Serpents

I am the archetype.

Pedestaled forever with a label
Which reads
“Woman -
Sin”.

What fairness?
Pale as though marble, the
Serpents crafted my brow from
Dirt; they should have eaten it.

Beauty herself posed for my image,
and Justice, ironic queen, gave skills of
Hand; would that she had severed them then.
The Musician gave me lyre and tongue
The Messenger made me bold;
Would not all men do the same as I?

Innocence, pleading before those
Cursing my very state - as they might
Prove their point - does nought for my
Eternal emblem.

Most cursed of all, favored conspirator of the
Lightning Warrior, gave me curiosity
Sealing my fate with a sweep of green
Feathers; Justice laughs with crooked delight.

I am the woman betrayed.

desert

I watch,
sometimes I laugh,
sometimes I admire,
sometimes I cry,
but does not drop a tear:
my tears have been dried by the desert
the same desert that I watch,
that sometimes I admire,
that sometimes tears from me a bitter laugh.
And that encloses me.

selfish

what am I doing?
just crawling into bed
that's all I'm doing
(were life fair)
it's my 'down' time
as I thrash about in chase of hypnos
invariably, I guiltily rehash
the old hash
that occured during my 'up' time
apparently one has never had enough
of the misery and mediocrity of broad daylight
for, away from the parade
it lingers on
like it or no
for free will is one thing
but memory and conscience
have their own way of looking at things
a constancy
as it were
and I suppose, so it shall ever
well, at least it is someone familiar to chat with
after all, it's one of the processes
in which molehills become mountains
and most nights
I be the worst for wear from
such untender rendering
so I thank myself
thank you, thank you very much
(yet silently pleading,
maybe one day, you needn't be so thoughtful, self)
my imperfections and lack of perfections
are a constant reminder
yet these provide me ever opportunity
in which to also constantly defend myself
never plead guilty
one day I may finally get it right
to where things are 'all' right
at least, in these private conversations, anyway
I've yet to live that day
seems the jury is always assessing the facts
trying to find where the truth lies
oh well
I will always have the opportunity
to right the wrongs
....again tomorrow

A Single Man

Your smiley face
At dinner time
Would be fun
Instead of the paper

The End of the World

As the end come near.
And the land not pure.
Man has destroyed the Earth.
With no Cure.
All living Creature.
And all living thing.
Are force to live the life we gave them.
We destroyed the land,
And polluted the air.
And continue to do so.
Cause we do not Care.
When will we learn.
When will we stop.
Destroying this world and all that its got.
Maybe someday.
Before the end.
Man will realize, the earth is our friend.
And stop the polluting, And stop killing things.
And then if he listens...
He can hear the world Sing...

As I Make My Way

I see a change a comin' in the weather
I sense a change comin' over me
Will I fall and break to pieces
Or will I soar flying so free

I close my eyes but for a moment
Kaleidoscope colors nothings the same
Here I go into the unknown
I'm not scared and I feel no pain

As I make my way
As I make my way

So amazing are all the wonders
And all the beauty i'd never seen before
I never realized I was lost
Until I opened up thr door

I wish this journey could last forever
There's so much more I wanna see
But everything that I have learned
Will always be a part of me

I switched off the light

there was a glow yes ann a glow
and I could still see

I could see you
see your eyes
smile
your smile

walking hope
facing up

leading up nothingness

choices

flip the coin
watch it spin
wait for the fall
and start again
heads you win
tails you mend
roll the dice make your bet
up the anty start to sweat
winners take all
losers go home
flip the coin wait for it to fall
run to see
which way its called
sometimes on the edge
keeps you on the wall

Sail

A single sail is bleaching brightly
Upon the waves caressing bland,
What seeks it in a stranger country?
Why did it leave its native strand?

When winds pipe high, load roar the billows
And with a crashing bends the mast,
It does not shun its luckless fortune,
Nor haste to port before the blast.

To-day the sea is clear as azure,
The sun shines gaily, faint the wind--
But it revolting, looks for tempest,
And dreams in storms its peace to find!
