Progress

I've been floating in my own gloom
for much too long--
drifting along with the tides of my mind
with no heading,
always dreading what will soon become of my life
if I don't change.
It's so strange how one thought could lift my gaze
up from the ground
to look around at this beautiful world
that I live in.
I have forgiven myself for everything I've let slip
through my fingers.
All that lingers in my mind is hope
others will too.
I must do what is best for myself,
or no one will.

Never give up hope

Sometimes in your life there comes a time when all hope is lost. You tend to think back towards the past wanting to know if you could change back the sands of time. To make things better. Wether it be for her or for him life must go on. The mistakes that we make are always there to hunt us even in our dreams. Some of us lose hope we go into a ball an never want to come out. Never want to open up to let that pain in again. While others tend to be stronger they will face each new day with a new challenge they will never give up hope no matter how hard life has been to them. Never give up on your dreams or goals life has many paths and its up to us to choose that path.

MY DEMENTED LANDLORD

THERE"S NOTHING MORE THAT I CAN ADD, FOR HIS REASONS TO EVICT ME, ARE WITHOUT TRUTH, AND FOR HIM; THE FINAL OUTCOME SHALL BE NOTHING BUT BAD! I HAVE BEEN RAISING WONDERFUL CATS FOR SEVEN YEARS; AND IF I HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE; I SHALL FACE LIFE WITH NOTHING BUT TEARS! HE MIGHT WIN AN EVICTION; BUT IN TURN WILL LOSE HIS SOUL; FOR THE SUPREME BEING HAS SAID; IF YOU TREAT ANIMALS BADLY; YOU SHALL NEVER ENTER MY KINGDOM BUT RATHER BE CONDEMNED AND THROWN INTO THE LAND OF THE LOST; WHERE YOU SHALL SUFFER ETERNAL MISERY; AND FOREVER BE PERSECUTED AND TOSSED!

Poetry Rodeo (Let's See If You Can Rhyme Like Me)

It takes a lot of cowboy tough to step out of a chute
Competing for a buckle and a chance to win some loot;
You scan the crowd with wary eyes, because deep down you know
Because every word and every rhyme could cost you the short-go.

Five judges watch with pen in hand and timers sit close by
It's time to start reciting, but your mouth is awful dry!
Your words spill forth to fill the room with hearty tears of laughter
While you're going for the perfect ride, to get the score you're after.

As judge's scores are tallied, you forget about your fate
Because friends are saddled up and riding through the gate
Though some may win a buckle, or take home some well earned pay
We all go home much richer in the friendships forged that day.

POETIC JUSTICE

I RECENTLY MET A GIRL NAMED PATTY, WHOM I FOUND INTERESTING FOR SHE SEEMED RATHER CHATTY! I LOVE GIRLS WHO CAN TALK AND HOLD THEIR OWN; AS LONG AS IT DOESN"T DEVELOP INTO A NASTY TONE! SHE SAID SHE LONGED TO BE A POET! I TOLD HER THAT CAN ONLY BE A DREAM, FOR YOU RECEIVE THE GIFT, AS A TOT; EITHER YOU HAVE IT, OR HAVE NOT! I THEN TOLD HER TO WRITE SOMETHING DOWN, AND FILL IT WITH STEAM; THAT"S WHEN SHE TURNED ON ME, TO THE FULLEST EXTREME! I DON"T NEED YOU TO TELL ME HOW TO WRITE; YOU"RE WASTING MY TIME, SO GOODBYE, AND GOODNITE! I JUST WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO ADD ONE LAST THOUGHT, WHICH EVERYONE CAN LEARN FROM; AND THAT IS; CAN YOU HEAR THE TICK TOCK? WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME; STRIVE TO BE A BETTER PERSON; FOR YOU CAN NEVER OUTRUN; THE ALMIGHTY CLOCK!

~So~

If most people do not like truth
Tell me if this is wrong
You being the ones that prefer

to

Not to live in Truth
Do YOU

Prefer to
Live in YOUR own Lies!

About this poem:
It is what it is and it seems to become greater as the clock ticks.
I know many of you who read this reach down and do find you have the courage to step out, yet you can't, be it for fear of? Am I wrong, tell me so please.

Color my Silence

Color me Beautiful,
Color me life,
Color the stars,
In the darkness of night,
Though darkness may fade,
From velvet to blue,
Color me completely, a lighter shade of you,
Though sadness has brought,
A darker shade of grey,
Shackled by fear,
That kept my colors at bay,
Despite my sadness,
Despite all my pain,
My colors will shine brighter,
In the splendor of day,
So listen to me carefully,
For those who are blue,
The past don’t define,
The true beauty of you,
Lift your head up,
Wipe the tears from your eyes,
Let your colors define you,
Color you beauty, color your life.

~If~

You held something in your left hand

would it
then change
thoughts

if you threw it and

caught it with

your

right

Denials thumb.

Every sentence which poured
from its bitter cold lips,
filled my mind with fear
and madness.

If I did dare smile,
it would strip me down,
til the smile in my eye
was lifeless.

my heart grieves still,
holds a deep dark ache,
for that 10 year abusive
sentence.

now, my smile is strong
and the bruises are gone
I'm beginning my life with
happiness.

My daughters, my love.
My son, my hope.
My dreams, now,
within my distance.

About this poem:
After being dead for so many years, its hard to know how to breathe. But once you've figured it out, you realize that, not only can you think and speak, you can also sing! And maybe one day, you will even dance!
