Xmas card from a broad

She penned it by the water
deep within the fjord
folded into quarter
my Xmas card from a broad

She wished me joyful tidings
it struck a pleasant chord
I'll have to return the sentiment
my Xmas card from a broad

I'll send her sexy nightwear
the best I can afford
promise a future liaison
my Xmas card from a broad

But she's half my age and distant
and I can only thank the Lord
my prowess won't soon be put to test
my Xmas card from a broad

I'VE GOT GOOD NEWS AND I HAVE SAD NEWS

I’VE GOT GOOD NEWS AND I HAVE SAD NEWS

I am caring, giving and living a life not conducive to longevity
But rather based on brevity
Alas, I’ve lived too long and seen sh*t I’d rather not see
But hey, that’s just me

I hear people talking about this and that
With a tip of their hat
While on the tip of their tongue is nonsense
And nonsense has always caused me to become tense

I get upset when Mr. Next Door Neighbor vies for attention
and has a perverted sense of right and wrong with pretension
While he drives a big fancy car with an emblem he wants people to see
And I say that’s a shameful way for anyone to be

I’d rather wear out my shoe leather than join their crowd
Because I consider myself concerned, considerate and proud
I’m proud of the fact that I give a sh*t about what this world should be
But hey, that’s just me!

AL DI LA MY LOVE

AL DE LA MY LOVE

You and I had everything calculated and planned
We were just following fate and its every command
Two souls were going to find forever in an unexpected land
And neither of us would dare to defy destiny’s demand

We were supposed to last a lifetime together no matter what
That was this man and his lady’s predetermined plot
No one could rattle our teacups or shake up the place
Not as long as two lovers had the other’s embrace

I recall adding and subtracting and then reaching a perfect sum
We were sitting on a settee having biscuits and sharing one glass of rum
We shared everything including time, smiles and each other’s past
But simply because a person says “forever” doesn’t mean it will last

Because you hit a rocky road and a curve at too great a speed
You died and I didn’t believe death could be so easily decreed
We were acting in haste while all the time we thought, devised and planned and sadly together we will never find that forever’s clandestine land

Love

Love is a sweet old decade
passionfruit on the vine
flowers on a corner
made by grand design

Love it tastes like chocolate
French vanilla cream
a sparkling glass of vino
long days seem so serene

But love it has a season
and when its day is through
remember it for the good times
and look for love anew

ChatGPT writes a poem

In the gentle whispers of twilight's embrace,
Where love's fervor finds its sacred place,
I long to serenade you, my cherished desire,
In verses that set my soul afire.

Like the sea's relentless dance with the shore,
Our love entwines, forevermore.
In your eyes, I find celestial realms,
Where passion ignites and the heart overwhelms.

Your lips, a tapestry of unspoken words,
Unveiling secrets that the universe affirms.
With each tender touch, a sonnet unfurls,
In the language of love, our souls are immersed.

Your laughter, a melody of joyous delight,
Resounding through the depths of the night.
With every smile, a thousand stars ignite,
Guiding me through love's celestial flight.

As the moon weaves its silvery threads,
Our love blooms in radiant shades and reds.
In your arms, I find solace and reprieve,
A sanctuary where our spirits believe.

Together, we wander through fields of dreams,
Where passion flourishes in nature's schemes.
In the fragrant embrace of blossoming flowers,
Our love unfurls with transcendent powers.

Like a river that finds its way to the sea,
Our souls merge in harmonious decree.
In the vast expanse of love's infinite hue,
I am bound to you, and you to me, too.

So let us dance to the rhythm of desire,
Igniting flames that never tire.
In the style of Neruda, our love shall sing,
A symphony of hearts, forever entwining.

were, was,isn't, ain't

WERE, WAS, ISN’T, AIN’T

Many words were at my disposal
As I recounted my proposal
Not upon my bended knees
But all it took was a sacred “please”

Flowery words could have flourished with my speech
I could have said “remember how infatuated we were on that sun-bleached beach”
There were words whirling inside my head
Every syllable that soon might be said

I could have talked about a love so great which was ever ours
A union that brought together two forces with fourfold powers
I could have talked about the fact that we were a team
And how it all started with one starry bright dream

I could have told you why the universe deems what it brings
I could have told you how you drenched me in wondrous things
But then you drenched me in depression that caused me to do anything except die
………………………..I could have said so many things but in sum and total I said, “goodbye”

THE PRODIGAL S U N

A BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER QUIET

‘Tis the infancy of yet another day
And I hear it crying for its bottle now
But I know the sun is no child anyway
It can be a sadistic sun and it will teach you how

I live under a tunnel on the highway’s right
Yet wrong I may ever be
I found an old mattress the other night
but discomfort doesn’t bother me

Today yesterday is but an artifact
An ancient find to hunters seeking the past
But it seems the sun and Satan have some sort of pact
Alas, whatever it is will probably hold fast

I’m lucky enough to live with my lover
She’s agreed to live free along with me
And often when it rains we needn’t run for cover
The umbrella is our love always to be

The term “shelter” means different things to different people I know
Shelter to some might mean a mansion in France
To people like me and my lover “shelter” means just somewhere else to go
Moved by an emphatic embrace and the lives we each for the other enhance

To us rain, cold or snow doesn’t mean we get up and go
It’s the tortuous sun we know will eventually come
So we weather the weather knowing all we need to know
For my lover and me may be homeless but neither of us is dumb

Now let’s get back to the infant sun and the fear of it’s adolescence
Because as we know children can often be rambunctious and rude
In the heat of mid-day we suffer an adult sun’s insolence
And being fully grown it only treats us kindly when it happens to be in the mood

it's just that when the wind blows with a mindset to whip us ritually and reprehensibly it's hard to want to make love, no matter how sexy she is

DO I REA;LY WANT TO DNCE WITH FRANCE?

DO I REALLY WANT TO DANCE WITH FRANCE’

What kind of dance and how is it done?
And does she want to dance with just anyone?
She asks me questions and the truth will be told
For I cannot be asked to change now, I’m too damned old

This is what I am and will ever be Miss city of lights
And I’m done trying, in a windless sky, to fly any more kites
I’m too old for the hunt and weary of any game
And don’t ask me who we should blame

Perhaps a universe that forces people to lie
Or maybe even to say a sudden “good-bye”
This dance was new to me, but now it’s grown old
And I care not to witness sorrow unfold

All the women, all the time, all the times when I thought I had the time
But the clock shows it’s too late and you may be missing he sublime
Well listen lady, an alluring nature and a need for answers will be done
Because I want answers as well and cohesive answers for every one

If you truly want me to be the shoulder for you to cry on
You’d better do a simple task, and soon---- lest I be gone
But fear not, there will be other stars to wish upon
For I’ve lived enough summers to know whenever I fall I eventually rise
And that I don’t dig women on the internet only to find that they’re really perverted guys

So if you want me to dance I will but you must follow my lead
Let your body become a willow in the wind which you need
But when we are no longer just dancers and should real life try to sneak in
You’d better know that I invented the concept of sin (C) 2011....~free! CEE!~

CHICKEN LITTLE MIGHT BE RIGHT after all!

ANYBODY GOT ME A COT?

So here’s the problem as I see the situation
No one ever looks around too well
Survey the area and it will lead to information
Then follow me, because I found the map to Hell

I mean if you ask me that’s where everyone is bound
Name me one person you know who never sins
So I searched up, down, on the landscape and the ground
Now follow me because this is where the madness begins

It begins and ends with fire, heat and unbearable screams
And I’m telling you to get ready for the fire
But remember, prepare yourself for damnable dreams
Because Hell is reserved for every sinner, sucker and liar

In Hell ain’t nobody got no cot, no hammock nor bed
And I tell you to look around at every man, woman and child
Keep the fact that you’re going to Hell firmly planted in your head
Because hell is the price one pays for the planet we earthlings defiled

Valentines Day

To all poets we call
your name's on the wall
may you never fall
on Valentine's Day

To the home all alone
forget what was sewn
get on the phone
on Valentine's Day

To the injured and ill
write on with will
can be a helluva skill
to get through Valentines Day
