That's the cool thing about working in a restaurant here, you finish up around midnight or one am which is just about the time people are going out to play, so you never have to miss a good night out cause you're working.
Sometimes i almost feel guilty cause I feel like I bailed out of the whole mess, but then we all have choices in life and mine was to live the lifestyle I have now. Of course I only earn about 1/10 of what I made in the states but thenI'm not a very materialistic girl...
For real... the season starts May 1 and ends Oct 31. There are very few direct flights here in the winter so there is no tourism, so all the tourist restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs shut down for the winter. If you work in a local then you may work 3 or 4 days a week during the winter but you will still have at least 2 months off a year.
Also, except for bars and restaurants everything closes between 1:30pm and 5pm for siesta and over half of the restaurants don't open until 7 at night.
I love it here... you only have to pay the corrupt govt. official a couple of grand to get em off your back and they don't come back for more.
Group of friends got together for lunch at a friends villa, we were having such a good time sitting in the sun...talking...drinking wine... turned into dinner and a rooftop party to howl at the moon!
Most nights out finish up with breakfast at somebodies house at 10am the next day...
I never did things like that when I lived in the States...
When I try to explain the diff between no. and so. Cal I say pretty much the same thing about so cal, and in no. cal they can't remember if pot is legal or not!
You have noooo idea! Hey there's an idea, since the mecicans aren't wanted in the states send them over here to Spain, they already speak the language and what I would do for a good fry cook and grill man!!! And the starting salary would be 1600 a month and thats euros not dollars!
Didn't know you were in the Restaurant Business, same as me! I would give anything to be able to bring my old grill cook out to Spain, these guys have no idea how to do breakfast or burgers!! My last cook came out to me to tell me that he couldn't do any omelettes because the salamander wouldn't light and he couldn't cook the top, you should have seen his face when I came back and flipped the omelette in the pan!

OHHHHHHHHH Stooie I really need a drink, I have really enjoyed all the debates and discussions I've had on the forums, but today I was compared to a piece of garbage because I don't want to date someone with children and now i just had the most off the wall hostile attack from someone I hadn't even had a post with. I quit!!!! I just want a big fat icey cold martini with 2 olives please!!! (oh just to warn you I don't usually drink hard alcohol!)
