And that's the very point why we should question the current state and leadership of international affairs today.
Apparently China currently has keels already laid in the construction of four aircraft carriers, no doubt the iron ore comes from both here and Brazil.
Politicians in the so called free world should, i think, take a long long look at themselves.

France occupied all of Vietnam by 1884. Independence was declared after World War II, but the French continued to rule until 1954 when they were defeated by communist forces under HO Chi Minh, who took control of the north. US economic and military aid to South Vietnam grew through the 1960s in an attempt to bolster the government, but US armed forces were withdrawn following a cease-fire agreement in 1973. Two years later North Vietnamese forces overran the south. Economic reconstruction of the reunited country has proven difficult as aging Communist Party leaders have only grudgingly initiated reforms necessary for a free market.

Final declaration, dated July 21, 1954, of the Geneva_Conference on the problem of restoring peace in Indochina, in which the representatives of Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Viet-Nam, France, Laos, the People's Republic of China, the State of Viet-Nam, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the United Kingdom and the United States of America took part.

The following is "a" version of events; it doesn’t mention dispossessing of land in the South owned by non-Christians, or the shipping of 1000’s of North Vietnamese Christians south, who were often vested ownership of land without the legal owners consent.

July 8, 1959
The first American combat deaths in Vietnam occur when Viet Cong attack Bien Hoa billets; two servicemen are killed.

1960
The National Liberation Front (NLF)--called the Viet Cong--is founded in South Vietnam.

History: Established by the Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty (“Manila Pact”), effective February 19, 1955, signed by Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States; and Protocol to the Main Treaty, signed by Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), Laos, and Cambodia, September 8, 1954. Protocol abrogated by Laos, July 9, 1962, and Cambodia, April 11, 1964. Pakistan gave one-year notice of withdrawal, November 8, 1972. SEATO Military Planning Office disbanded, January 31, 1974. France terminated financial contribution, June 30, 1974. Fall of Republic of Vietnam, April 30, 1975, resulted in de facto abrogation of Manila Pact. Ccleaner doesn't display a computer icon in the program version i have or ever had and i've been using it since it first appeared. Its a free program, I think put together in Israel Piriform Ltd. I've been member there forums,Ccleaner, Defraggler and Recuva. Just downloaded there latest program Speccy to

Secondly I've never had to uninstall when updating, its completely free you guys sure you haven't a bogus version of Ccleaner

RE: Problem with CS site

I’ve turned Windows update off; also because I use fully patched Office 2000 Premium on Vista computer I took my computer back prior to Windows SP1. Now rely on Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Acronis True Image Home backup images, Mailwasher to pre-check any mail being downloaded into computer.
Ccleaner allows you to select what cookies you don’t want deleted and in my view does an excellent job cleaning both computer and registry. I also use jv16 which does even better job cleaning registry. Revo uninstaller free version still includes an excellent junk file cleaner and its program uninstall also offers the option to delete all uninstalled program registry entries as well as any other txt or files its program uninstall didn’t remove.
I use the free version of Auslogics Disk Defrag, which I think is a first class defrag program.

CS site seems to be working better today, wrote to them last night about a Trojan Kaspersky repeatedly detected on this site

RE: Flights from Europe to Australia?

Long time ago I travelled round the globe a few times and often purchased mileage tickets in Thailand.
Which is Ticket \ Bangkok, Calcutta, Bombay, Cairo, Rome, Geneva, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London US$380. A Mileage Ticket is good for one year and written by the Airline, not by the Agent; with it you could stay at any of those points for as long as you liked within the one-year time limit, then you booked the flight to the next destination. Mostly my tickets were written by Air India.
It’s not possible to change after first use, and for any unused potion no refund.
Still it was cheaper than Round World type ticket that usually cost around the $1500. As far as I know Mileage Ticket can still be purchased in Bangkok.

However the other day I suggested a site in Thailand on CS and as best as I can tell they offer some pretty good deals.

RE: RELIGIOUS, AGNOSTIC AND ATHEIST

The way we live and think everything is dedicated to material pleasure. We consider sense objects to be of utmost importance and materialistically devote ourselves to whatever makes us happy, famous and popular.
Even though all this comes from our mind, we are so totally preoccupied by the external objects themselves that we never look within, we never question what makes them so interesting. However, this mind is an inseparable part of us; as long as we exist our mind is there within us. Thus we are always up and down. It is not our body that goes up and down, it is our mind—the mind whose way of functioning we do not understand. Therefore, sometimes you have to examine yourself; not just your body but your mind, which is the thing that is telling you what to do. You have to know your own psychology, or, in religious terminology, perhaps, your inner nature. But no matter what you call it, you have to know your own mind.
Don't think that examining and knowing the nature of your mind is only an Eastern trip. That's a wrong conception; it's not an Eastern trip, it's your trip. How can you separate your body, or the picture you have of your self, from your mind? You can't say, "I have the material power to separate my body from my mind."
That's impossible. You think you are a free person in the world, enjoying everything. That's what you think, but you are not free. I'm not saying that you are under the control of someone else; it's your own attachment, your own uncontrolled mind that you are oppressed by. If you can discover how it oppresses you, the uncontrolled mind will disappear automatically. Thus knowing your own mind is the solution for your mental problems.
One day the world is so beautiful; the next day it is so bad. How can you say that! Scientifically it's impossible for the world to change radically like that. It's simply your mind that makes this happen. Don't think that this is religious dogma; our going up and down is not religious dogma. I'm not talking about religion; I'm talking about the way you lead your life, which is what sends you up down. The people and the environment don't change radically; the changes are in your own mind. Surely you can understand that—it's so simple.
Similarly, one person thinks that the world is beautiful and people are wonderful and kind, but another thinks that everything and everyone are horrible. Who is right? How do you explain that scientifically? It's just their individual mind's projection of the sense world. Hence you feel, "Today is like this, tomorrow is like that; this man is like this; that woman is like that." But where is the absolutely fixed, forever-beautiful woman? Who is the absolutely forever-handsome man? They are non-existent; they are simply creations of your mind.
Also, you should not expect material objects to satisfy you and make your life perfect; that too is impossible.
How can you be satisfied by even vast amounts of material objects? How can you be satisfied by sleeping with hundreds of different people? It's impossible. Satisfaction comes from the mind. Your dissatisfied mind wanting to keep changing from one person to another, from one trip to another, can never satisfy you. This is just your mind.

think explains quite well

The way we live and think everything is dedicated to material pleasure. We consider sense objects to be of

Even though all this comes from our mind, we are so totally preoccupied by the external objects themselves

RE: Do you think Prescribed Medication helps with Depression ?

I think the AMA are off there rockers, thats what i think.
You go to a doctor you place yourself in the hands of a Christian and to my mind thats not a skillful option.
Taking personable responsibility for you own happiness in my mind doesn't mean taking dugs, prescribed or otherwise.
Better to sit before a qualified teacher and take qualified advice

RE: Do you think Prescribed Medication helps with Depression ?

I didn't find it easy to still my mind, i didn't take pills, rather i took advice from an American guy and persisted until i was able with out being distracted by my out of control thought process, i managed after three months, to understand and actually do the following breathing technique:
Breathing in through the left nostril and out through the right eleven times, then in through the right and out through the left eleven times, then in through both nostrils and out both eleven times, times (x3) three, done properly that will bring your energy back into balance
Breath in left nostril and out the right nostril 11 times.
Breath in through right nostril and out through the left 11 times.
Breath in through both nostril and out both 11 times.
times 3.

When i first tried i used a finger to block the other side nostril, that helped and is quite ok, however please start over again if you find your mind following another thought.
That process will still the mind, bring your energy back into balance and over come any level depression.
Yes it takes effort, however it is truly worthwhile doing that

RE: Do you think Prescribed Medication helps with Depression ?

I think meditation is a better option, pills often dull the mind and i don't think in the long term that is skillful.

After Vietnam i had lot of problems and it wasn't until i learnt to take responsibility for my own activities and happiness that depression went away.
I'd suggest be gentle on yourself, look at yourself in the mirror, look into your own eyes and see that you are a good person, look deeply into your eyes and like yourself.
Meditation is in my mind, learning to live in the here and now, depression often arises when we are grasping for happiness outside of our selves. Depression arises when we have or hold expectations of others. Happiness is our own responsibility, please as much as possible accept your happiness is your own personal responsibility and know there are methods available to help you learn the skills to develop happiness in our lives.

While thinking if only...we are not then living in the here and now, there are qualified people running meditation courses in most countries, i sincerely believe it is a better option than taking pills.
It takes effort to still our minds, skills are needed to to that not opium

Well yes he seys it did (I don't know)

This table shows Tibetan and Gregorian calendar equivalents.

The Tibetan astronomical system and calendar making is based on the Sri Kalachakra Tantra (Wheel of Time Tantra), which was translated into Tibetan from Sanskrit in 1027 A.D. Therefore Tibetan calendar also began year 1027, which was a Fire-Rabbit Year. The Tibetan calendar operates with a 60-year cycle of five elements and twelve animals. This cycle is called Rab-byung and it runs from a Fire-Rabbit year to a Fire-Tiger year. At present, in the year 2005, we are in the 17th Rab-byung and undergoing its 19th year, Wood-Bird. Please remember that the Tibetan New Year is around February, while the Elemental New Year is two to three months earlier in December.
