There's a house upon a hill
With a view that's breathless still
In the valley below
The echo is so surreal

No way to describe happiness inside
Forever to feel,for love was built
In the house upon a hill

The sound of the breeze
Has a home in the trees
And the buzz of honey bees
Lingers amoung the daffodills

Sunlight and moonlight
The peace they reveal
On the path that leads too
The house upon a hill

Spending days wasting time
Spending years left behind

I could never catch the train
And I allways missed the plane
I guess that lonely should have been my name

Another quiet evening for me to dine
Spending years left behind

Dreams have all disappeared
Memories seem unclear
Tomorrow softly whispers soon to be here

How sad to search and never find
What happened to the years that were left behind

I'ts been a long lonely day
And I am lone lonely blue
Not a word have I heard all the day through

She doesn't love me anymore
She's not thinking of me
That's for sure

My heart is broken up
Oh what will I do
It's been a long lonely day
And I am lone lonely blue

If there was a song I could write
Or a poem I could read
But that's not holding her tight
That's only make believe

I had it in my heart to allways be true
How will tomorrow start
For it has been a long lonely day
And I am lonely blue

Is all this quietness sane
Am I to blame
What does it matter
Today,Tomorrow twill be the same

The fire of youth has faded so
And now the age of pain
Is all I know

Memories once like a link in a chain
Started out so strong then weak they became
And they were broken long ago

If I should dream to fall in love
A poets words written are surely in vain,I know
Forgive me my darling I started out strong
Then weak I became and I was broken long ago

Is all this quietness sane
Am I to blame
What does it matter
Today, tomorrow twill be the same

It might offend somebodys faith
If I say a certain name
But the name I say is a name that's great
He's known as the king of kings

Other gods will be embarrassed
If I say they are in second place
But all I'm gonna do is talk about you know who
Started the human race

When politicians make a speech
They try their very best
To leave out certain letters of the alphabet
The letters of J-e-s-u-s

Remember moses had the ten commandments
Joshua had a horn
David had a slingshot
Jesus had to be born

Of a virgin mary
Holy mother of God
King James had it written down
Passed it all around

America agreed this to be true
But when 2012 came due
How many seem to regret as they leave out certain letters of the alpahbet the letters of J-E-S-U-S

I'm gonna go where the snow and the rain never fall
I'm gonna be where it's just the ocean and me
The sun and the sand and that's all

What girl shall I think of
What girl shall I forget
What drink shall I drink of
Tomorrow's surprise or yesterday's regret

No phone to ring so I won't get a call
For now it's just the ocean and me

Little sea shell what can you tell me
Whisper it gently and slow
If you can't tell me the girl who loves me so

Then I will stay I know where the snow and the rain never fall
I will be where it's just the ocean and me

Forgetting the girl
It's taken a long long time
Forgetting the girl
The girl who caused me to go blind

Now my sight has returned
My heart has been burned
But I get along just fine
Forgetting the girl that was never to be mine

Tomorrow shall not slip by as before
I shall be waiting on the veiw
And as sunlight trips over the steps through an open door

And leaves a feeling so warm and kind
Surrounding me is the moment of now
And no longer behind,I get along just fine

I say it in the now for tomorrow
I'm gonna meet her
The girl I'm thinking of

Soon the past will be forgotten sorrow
And every day will be sweeter and sweeter
For I shall write a story that knows only love

I say it neath the moonlight as though she is there
I'm gonna dance with her
We will be floating in the air

She will know there is magic all around her
For every day I will surround her
With tender loving care

The universe will respond
And create a path of believe
Nothing to break the bond of the joy to recieve

Attracting understanding of what is pure and fair
And so come quickly the answer
With tender loving care

Young was being alive
Middle age was being somewhere
Older is trying to survive
And God I pray you still care

Gone is the world that was suppose to last forever
Noticed it missing in the twinkling of an eye
Didn't know there would be a date in time known as better
Until the moon and the sun gave wings to time and taught it to fly

Somehow I came to the place of here
While traveling on the road to there
Needing time to be of the day and not of the year
And God I pray you still care

I looked into her eyes and thought I knew
But she covers her heart with a clever disguise
Needless to say I'm in the mood of blue

You never know
She's that kind of girl

She laughs when I'm not around
About weak emotions,oh the weekness of my mind
The chance that shouldn't close never opens
Keep guessing if she will ever be kind

With pen and notepad in her hand
She stays on the phone as planned
Which rumor is it now
The one to bring me down

This one or that one
Turns out the same
If bitter is the tone
Bitter is the blame

Reversed once again and backwards is the pain
Searching in a circle what can I find
Keep guessing if one will be kind
You never know

Not the smart man
I couldn't win
But I could pretend

She walked close to me
Holding my hand tenderly
There must have been
A thousand ways for us to begin

Remembering her lips her eyes her hair
Looking back must be a sin
Yesterday is a waste of being there
If you are not the smart man

An old black and white romantic movie plays
Perhaps I could rewind and find those thousand ways
But alone in this movie to face the end
No rewrite no dialog for I am not the smart man

The water crashes upon the rocky shore
One set of footprints in the sand
Blues music plays I listen more

All has been washed away there in yesterdays span
She doesn't remember me
Credits roll for everyone else
But not for me for I am not the smart man

Let hope be here as spring draws near
Flowers start to bud
Soft rain falls from the sky above
And hearts of wonder are falling in love

A rainbow or two comes into view
Barefoot on the wet green meadow we walk along
Wishing the moment would linger on
Perfect are the words to say for they are true
