God And A Million Things

He was just a kid
And every night he looked at a million stars up above
He was just a kid
And he knew he was loved

How he loved to play on long summer days
Memories so warm and kind
He was just a kid
With God and a million things on his mind

Soon he grew to be a young man
And had to leave all that behind
Into a world that was so different as each tomorrow began
With God and a million things on his mind

He met a girl and loved her so
Soon children were on the scene
And found him to be loving and kind
Now he was a family man with God and a million things on his mind

Years passed by and his hair turned gray
He was forgetful of the month and time
But he loved to talk of a warm summer day
And something about stars and God and a million things
On his mind

Edge Of Echo

I was walking at the edge of echo
In the direction of loneliness
Carrying all the memories
All the memories she left

I was walking neath the sunshine
As the wind came my way
I would have noticed more
But I was lost in yesterday

My shoes remain untied
There's a mist in my eyes
As I begin to realize
The sound of her is far away

Now I'm walking at the edge of echo
In the direction of loneliness
Carrying all the memories
All the memories she left

A Girl I Wanted To Know

I was walking beside a girl I wanted to know
And as she was talking, so soft her voice
As she mentioned how green the meadow

The birds in the trees were singing all the day
My mind so at ease
As the goodness of god was surely on display

Joy had ruled the day
As though ribbons had been wraped all around
And nowhere was there a sound of feeling low
My heart beat with forever as I had found
A girl I wanted to know

One Up One Down

The sky is one up
The earth is one down
And some set out to keep the score
Is this what makes the world go round

Now your heart is one up
Mine is one down
Cause I saw you with him
On the up side of town

Today the circus is one up
Ticket in my hand is one down
It was just my luck
I was mistaken for one of their clowns

Your cotton candy smile is one up
My hot tomales are one down
He kisses you and whispers buttercup
I wave for a taxi to exit the up side of town

The clouds are one up
The rain is one down
Now I'm on the wrong street
Back on the up side of town

Elusive Key

Who am I someone alone
Just a guy name unknown

Invisible man
With an invisible life
Where pages past
The same today write

Trapped in the hours of time
Bound by the nothing of me
Mocked to search and find
What is known as the successful elusive key

Too Tired To Fall In Love

I'm just too tired to fall in love
My hair is turning too gray
If I had the energy of when I was young
I guess I wouldn't talk this way

I'm just too tired to fall in love
I hope you understand
It's time that we said goodbye
Your smile should belong to a younger man

My words grow heavy and may seem unkind
And the sadest part of all is when I recall
You gave your smile to me
Once upon a time

Lonely Land

Mr. sun could you shine all the time
When you go down I sadly find
I must live in lonely land

Impossible for you to remain radiantly still
night time shall surely come again
With it's edging flowing shadows of chill
Where I must live in lonely land

The empty sound of quiet abodes
Knowing that it is in command
Moonlight points the way of the road
To where I must live in lonely land

Something More To Mend

Something more the dream never ends
Something more and allways only more to mend
Hope never leaves but sometimes it grieves and pretends

Love never dies
But sometimes it wears a disguise and then
There is something more to mend

Something more attraction never fades
But sometimes it persuades
one to play the role of a friend
and then there is something more to mend

Something more the need to understand
But sometimes the conclusion is like a mist
You grow weary of searching a list again and again
And then there is something more to mend

Focus

Evening shadows fall and fall into the night
The change of view to a focused sight
Of distant stars above

To perform a breathless spell
Which no words come close to tell
How then does this mystic guide
Allures to the one by your side

And then you focus into the eyes of love

Ladies Of A King

Ladies of a king
Graceland was your home
How you must have cried
When you knew he was gone

Many still miss him
And another hasn't come along
The world never knew
Such a singer of a song

Ladies of a king
In our hearts you also belong
Ladies of a king
Memories hold on

Gentle Touches

Sunlight falls through my window
And fell upon my floor
I sit and look at the splendor
Who could ask for anything more

Gentle touches
From the one who watches from above
Gentle touches
And I trust his gentle love

Sunlight my favorite company of the day
Quite and still
No words to say
Suddenly with wonder to my heart reveal

Gentle touches
From the one who watches from above
Gentle touches
And I trust his gentle love

Ten Thousand Words

If I wrote you ten thousand words
What would I say
If I wrote you ten thousand words
Would you throw them all away

If I gave you ten thousand rhymes
Would you find them such a bore

If I gave you ten thousand kisses
Then forever could not limit the time
To kiss you ten thousand more

Today has a wish to linger
But evening pleads to close
And the voice unwritten will not be heard
Would it replace the color of a red red rose
If I wrote you ten thousand words
