Laughable US Snowflakery

With the snowflake generation becoming more bizarre with their demands the world has become far too sensitive to these adult babies. Colleges have safe spaces filled with colouring books, play-Doh and videos of puppies to help whiney students overcome trauma they have suffered from reading or listening to lectures.

Halloween banned by many schools in the states as its insensitive to some groups, Racially sensitive costumes etc make it non inclusive.

Forensic science students triggered by dead bodies.

Literary students triggered by shakespeare plays

Theology students upset and triggered by images of christ being crucified

Some colleges have banned clapping as it triggers memories of trauma

Expectant mothers who maybe transgender are not to be called mothers but "pregnant people"

Minority students at the Uni of Michigan felt marginalised because of imposing and masculine wood panelling

White men should be banned from meetings, Black people and women should make all policy decisions.

Trophies and prizes are not to be given to winners of either sports or academic competitions as losers are offended.

Most of these are American, what are your thoughts and what triggers or stupid rules are their in your countries Colleges and Universities?

All Saints Day & Day Of The Dead

Today is All Saints day, everything is shut so that people can go to the cemetery to have a chat and remember the dead, plastic flowers are exchanged for newer plastic flowers, marzipan sweets and deep fried dough fritters stuffed with cream and chocolate are scoffed with Aniseed liqueur.

Tomorrow is the Day of the Dead, ( originally an Aztec custom) around the world people take dead relatives from their graves, dress them up and have a party.

I dont have any dead relatives and would feel awkward gate crashing someones cemetary party, If I dig up my cat and dressed it in a tinfoil suit and served some tuna sandwiches would that be seen as something bad?

Man Flu- Its Real

I have had severe man flu for a couple of days, I was relieved to have actually woken up today.
My will is up to date and the house keys have been left at the coffee bar for my next of kin or thieves.

Its apparently worse than labour pain, I am so weak I find changing the TV channels a hard task, its taken me 3 hours to make soup and find a warm enough blanket, I hope I live through until tomorrow, I may have some interesting near death experiences to share with you all...........provided I survive.

What do the men here do to ensure survival?

Why dont women understand the life threatening agony on man flu?

Dating for the undatables

Gathered here and there are a bunch of diverse intelligent and not so intelligent beings, some are good looking most are not, some are just an outline of a presumed gender.

I’ve been here a while and have seen a glut of prospects, met quite a few and exchanged bodily fluids with a fair few, I’ve seen the tumbleweeds blowing through this place like a deserted town too.

I know that many people who used to grace our blogs do visit incognito, maybe just to laugh at us or perhaps check out a crush, who knows.

I’ve talked to many, most seem to fade away after a few messages, some have stood the test of time and chats are daily occurrences.

So what’s the problem? Apart from a few lucky souls most of us remain in stasis, not moving forward at all, Is it age barriers?, Is it geographical anomalies?, or is it lack of commitment?

I’d say that most here don’t want someone, they need someone, but their needs are very different to what others need, some may just want a bloke with money, some men just need a cleaner or mommy figure, but each one of us has something special to offer a potential mate, I don’t think that we probably know what we do have that will appeal to a mate, only by messaging and talking will we find out.

So we are undateables on paper but in real life we probably are very datable, most of us have been on our own for many years and have our quirks, so only by messaging, talking and actually being proactive will we make progress, sitting back and waiting for someone to message us is a waste of time.

Message someone, talk to your crush, time's limited, none of us will live forever.

Love is just an Illusion

It’s becoming apparent that love is just an illusion. Love is a feeling and not a tangible substance, love is just signals in the brain, the brain sends out these signals to our loins and these signals make our hearts beat faster and our smiles bigger.

So where do these signals come from, is it seeing someone’s smile, seeing their eyes or perhaps their words?

What or who is behind these signals in our brains?, The concept of love hasn’t been around as long as we think, cavemen didn’t fall in love, they just took a mate for procreation, animal instinct maybe, but animals don’t fall in love, plants don’t fall in love.

Perhaps in the past we were visited by some advanced aliens who planted the seeds of love in us, perhaps they saw our Neanderthal ways a bit too primitive, whoever did this to us will always be a mystery……….Love is just an illusion.

You will argue that love is real and of course you will say that, you have been programmed to think that.

My brain tells me I am in love, but I know it’s not real, it’s just an illusion.

Your thoughts?

Humans and Microchips

I’m not talking about small boxes of French fries shoved into your wrist, but microchips that can and are being inserted into human hands and in cases brains.

There are some benefits:
• Security, open locks etc.
• Medical data ( Emergency Services can scan you)
• Banking and security pins (Easy payments, cashless and cardless)
• Tracking and locating missing people, especially keeping an eye on kids.

What about the cons:
• RFID chips being hacked, biohacking, big brother always watching your every move.
• Brain implants, maybe beneficial but could they contain a “kill switch” and we can be remotely euthanized.

There some companies insisting on mandatory microchipping so employees can be tracked; refusal may impact on future promotions.

Would you be willing to be microchipped if you received more pay and benefits?

Cyber Life

Most of us seem to live and socialise in cyber land, daily messages and now and again a telephone or skype call to show that there is a human on the other end.

Do fall in love with someone, or is it the idea of falling for whom we perceive that person to be? Can you fall for someone just from those persons words even if you have no idea what they look like?

Why does a simple message bring either happiness or depression? Why do people become bullies from behind their screens?

We can get serious after a few messages; we have crushes on someone just because of their written words, words that will never be spoken or a face never to be seen. Looking into someone’s eyes, seeing facial expressions and body language are so much better.

We share images of our happier moments on Instagram or Facebook, we share moments of sadness on Facebook or blogs, are we expecting our cyber friends sympathy and a thumbs up?, do we get upset if none or few “friends” likes or we don’t get comments on a blog or forum...yes we do.

When we communicate in cyber land, our emails or messages are shortened, we don’t really put across what we feel, we are often misunderstood, a few words that are innocently typed can cause hate or confusion, language barriers are an issue, some merely communicate after translating their own language.

We often live far apart, but messages are instant, we have time zones but always seem to be able get through that, but we are ostracized by our geographical differences.

We think about a certain person all the time, during the day and at night, scenarios play in our heads, It’s just make believe, it will never be real...........or will it.

So make an effort, call someone, set up a video chat, speak and see the other person’s eyes, their smile or their tears and make a difference, it can be a very lonely life for some.

WARNING FOR THE UNDEAD

I have just attended my own wake!

Walking into the coffee bar this afternoon the entire bar stared at me, I thought I had shit on my shirt or something, Then I was told I had died yesterday and that my family were outside drinking at my wake.

Although I'm very stiff, I assured everyone that in fact I was not dead at all, but accepted a drink to celebrate my resurrection.

Turns out another Englishman in my town passed away yesterday.

However, attending my own wake felt special until news of me being undead spread and the free drinks ended.
(This is 100% true)

Lets celebrate being undead cheers

World Hole Day

Holes have been a part of our lives since life began, from humble cave dwellings Man (and women) have embraced these natural or man (or women) made orifices.

From gashes in the sides of hills to those plunging deep into mother earth no hole is the same, each one is individual and in my opinion a work of art, dark, moist and sometimes humid, holes can be glorious, holes can be scary too.

The Romans used a lot of holes, they joined them together to make aqueducts and for sanitary and unsanitary products.

Some of you live in big cities, daily you enter these cavities and enter transport via dark passages, emerging from another hole, perhaps as its Sunday you are travelling to a holy place to make yourself feel whole.

All creatures on earth and beyond have holes, we use them to shovel food inside ourselves, we use them to breathe, we expel our waste from them and of course we have a lot of sensual fun with them, often creating little babies that enter our world through a hole. When we die they chuck us in a hole.

All of you are using something with a hole in it, a wine bottle, a cup of coffee, tin of soda or even a ketchup bottle. You are alive as you breathe through one right now, you hear through a hole, maybe you are eating one right now, most of us have lived with or live with an a**hole.

We use and abuse holes, sometimes we worship them, but they are always there for us, we don’t often say thank you to these wonderful , so today is a celebration of all things with holes, today is World Hole Day.

Join me and celebrate the hole, on this day of the holes.
