Continuing my temp job!

Today, I was asked if I was able to work all of next week, which I immediately said "Yes" to. That means. one more week of early mornings and exhausted afternoons - but it will definitely be worth it!

Work was great, as usual. I started the day opening up boxes of products, and placing them on the table, so they would be ready to pack. It was then, that I was told, that the things I had unpacked was supposed to be at the other end of the table. So we had to move everything down, which took forever. But we were three people on that job, so it went by very fast.

By then, my manager pulled me aside, and told me, that because I worked so hard yesterday, I was removed from the task, and put on something else, called PPD. What that is, is labeling items, and put them in boxes. That was my task for the entire day, and I quite liked it. I was then approached by another person, who told me what labels went to what, and where the finished products would go. I was then told to tell the others, making me a kind of leader of that production line.

Working there is really grooming and molding me into a leader. Someone who can get things done right. I like that a lot, if I am honest. Who knows what the future will bring!

Also, because I was given another week, I went out and treated myself to something - a PlayStation 4. I felt it was time to gift me something new!

I look forward to the weekend, where I am going to sleep in! I really need that!

Going on a holiday with a friend!

I met someone a long time ago. Years, in fact. I met her at a party through my roomie and his then-girlfriend, who is my friends sister. At first I thought she hated me, but we got to talking, and she's super chilled out and a lot of fun to be with.

We have talked about going on a holiday together, sometime next year. We have a destination in mind: Alanya, Turkey.

She wanted me to go with her on a holiday to Spain a few years ago, but I didn't have the money then. I do now, so it's only fitting that we do something about that. I was not even sure, if she wanted to go on a holiday with me, so I sort of put it aside. Then, I decided to just man up and ask her. So, the other day, I asked hed if she was interested in going on a holiday with me.

She said yes.

Now we just need to find the perfect place, at the perfect price. I am guessing we are gonna get two separate rooms, which works for me. I snore a lot, and I am not sure she wants me to see her in her nightly clothes. I will ask her what she would like to do.

But - so far the holiday location is planned. Now we just need to find the date and the hotel.

I am exhausted!

After a few weeks with 5 am starts, I am officially exhausted, to the point where I can fall asleep anywhere. Work was good yet again today. It was a regular day, where I had some tasks that usually no other temp worker gets. I will not go into detail, but I was very happy with the result.

Before you all go "You did the thing with your manager", let me tell you: No, I did not. I am professional when I am at work, so nothing like that happens.

Towards the end of the day, I was given the task of showing how to assemble a stand, that we are gonna pack items in tomorrow. I, of course, didn't know how to do that, so I said "I am not entirely sure how to assemble the bottom", to which my manager/shift leader said "I'll show you after the break", and so she did. After I was shown, I began to pick up the pace. Soon I was building stands at a very rapid rate. I was then pulled off that task, and given another one. Yet again, I was acting as a leader, making sure that everyone had something to do. When we finished the job, I went "Nice work, guys!", to them, which felt natural to do. I really enjoy leading people, I have found out. Maybe I do have a leader-quality hidden inside me.

I have not been extended, so tomorrow will be my last day there. Maybe they will offer me more work during my break tomorrow, which I hope I do get. Or maybe they are just going "We want to hire you full time, starting Monday".

No matter what happens, I have had a great 2 weeks of work there!

Also, my US trip is still slated to happen next year!

What a day..

Today at work, we were packing samples to send to Norway, which meant putting 26 items into a box, and then pack said box onto a pallet. It went very well, until someone pointed out, that someone had made a mistake. Some of the boxes needed some items, so we had to repack 2 pallets of boxes. Each pallet contains 20 boxes, so we had a LOT to do.

Once we got that under control, we slowed down, and began to do other tasks. Towards the end of the day, we unpacked more samples, which we are meant to pack with other samples tomorrow. I was then contacted by the manager, who told me to get people working. That I was the boss for that assignment. I then suggested to her, how we could make the job go by faster, to which she told me, that I had free range to do whatever I saw best for the task. That meant, that I had to explain to every worker, that we were going to use bin bags for the empty boxes, because it would be easier to empty them into the cardboard crusher, rather than doing it by hand from a box.

I am really putting my name out there, which is fantastic! It makes me hopeful that I will get a permanent position there. Nothing is certain, though, so I will not say "I am definitely gonna get a permanent job there"

Tomorrow is another day, where we have to pack more stuff, and I cannot wait!

Adding more shift to my temp job

I was asked yesterday, if I could work on Wednesday, and today I was asked if I could work there for the rest of the week. Of course, I said yes, since I love working there. Even if I have to get up at 5 am every morning yawn.

I have somehow been the go-to guy when something needs to be done, or if they need something heavy lifted, which I quite like. I like to use my body for heavy lifting. I continue to perform well, which reflects on my mood and the way that I am being approached. Today, we had to pack samples, and then ship them. I got the pretty important task of being the last person on the line, where I have to put large pieces of bubble wrap and a piece of paper in the box and then feed the boxes to an automated tape dispenser. It's menial work, but it's work none the less. Important work, since they are going to a different country. They have to be right all the time.

I have decided to ask if they are hiring tomorrow. Right now, I am only a temp worker, but sometimes those jobs can result in something permanent, if you are the correct fit for the job, which I clearly am.

I read the comments on yesterdays blog, and I will not in a million years exchange certain favors for a job. I want a job based on my work, not how I am with someone else. Get your mind out of the gutter laugh

Yes, she's a good looking woman, but there is something called "workplace ethics".

Improving at my temp job.

So today I started another week at my temp job. The agency wrote me last week, and asked if I was available for work on today and Tuesday, which I said yes to. I was then asked, today, if I was available to work on Wednesday, which I said yes to.

The job is very simple: Label stuff and repack other stuff. Not rocket science, but for some it might be. I have watched so many people try to do a simple task, and then fail.

Today, I was called to the person, who manages the temp workers. I thought I was going to be in trouble, to which she responded "No, not at all! You are one of the best workers we have here, so you are definitely not in trouble!"- Me, being a sarcastic person, then said "Then just hire me, and make it a lot easier", to which she said "Great idea."

I wasn't hired then, but if I play my cards right, I can possibly end up with a permanent job there. If they offer me that, I will accept. I really need a permanent job!

So all in all, I am improving a lot. I am fast, precise and meticulous - qualities that they value there. Plus I get along with everyone there, so adding me to the team would be a benefit for them, definitely.

Here's hoping they will hire me!

This heat is unbearable!

We are currently in a heatwave here in Denmark. It's almost 8 pm, and the temperature is 24 degrees C, which is 75 degrees F. 63% humidity and no real wind to speak of.

I am melting! It's SO warm!

Granted, some of you reading this will go "75 F? Pff, that's not really hot! You're a wuss!", but what you need to know, is that I am extremely susceptible to warm temperatures. Anything above 75 F, and I am suffering. Particularly if there's no wind to blow the heat away.

I am sitting here on my bed, with my fan blowing in my face, and I am still sweating like a pig. I had a look on the weather service, and they say this will continue for a while, and even hit as much as 81 F (27 C) on Sunday. No real rain to speak of either, and no lower temperatures. I really look forward to the end of summer. That way I can move about, and not break out into a sweat.

Now I'm gonna return my attention to the Mueller hearing. Please refrain from posting political comments to this blog. They will just be deleted.

Trump to visit Denmark in September!

According to confirmed reports, Trump will visit Denmark for the first time as President. The whole ordeal will happen at the beginning of September, and last for just 2 days. He is set to arrive on the 2nd of September, and leave on the 3rd of September.

A part of me wants to go to the airport to see Air Force One up close, since I have never had the chance to do that. It'll be great!

I don't really care that he is coming here. I won't participate in rallies against him, neither will I talk badly about him. He just happens to be President of the USA, which is an achievement in itself.

Meeting an old friend at my new job!

Today was the day where I was starting my new temp job. It's a great one, which I really hope can pan into something permanent.

During the early hours, one of the other temp agents went "Hello you!" to someone behind me. I looked back and said "Hello you!". It was one of my friends that I hadn't seen for 16 years. Me and her went to school together, so the last time I saw her was when we graduated. She didn't look different at all. She looked like she always had looked.

We caught up during the first break, and then we went to our different stations.

Other than that, my first day went very well. But I did strain my wrist, so that's a bummer. But the pain isn't unbearable, so I will turn up tomorrow to continue working. I really want this to be permanent!

Home all alone for the next 6 days!

My roommate has left for a festival, which I have no interest in attending. That means, I am going to be all alone until he returns on Saturday.

That means, I can finally go completely wild, and do my laundry, tidy up the place a bit and do the dishes. Oh how fun it is to be an adult.

I actually look forward to being at home all by myself. I prefer that, if I am honest. I have been alone all my life, so it's no big deal to be alone for another 6 days.

Job interview (finally)

I have been looking at applying for a warehouse job, close to where I live. It's through a temp agency, and I tried to apply for it, but it failed. So I wrote the agency. They replied with a phone number I should call, so I did.

They want to see me for an interview on Monday at 10 am. I hope I can start working the following day, since it's usually how a temp agency handles their workforce.

The job itself is evening shift, from 3 pm to 10 pm, which suits me fine. The salary is a mandatory $23 per hour, which means I will earn $461 per week, if I work 20 hours. Not bad. But that's before taxes. Realistically, I am looking at $300 in hand per week. Not too bad, considering full time jobs pay the same hourly wage.

If I work, let's say, 25 hours per week, I am looking at $576 per week, before taxes.

I will know more on Monday!

New idea for a screenplay!

This time, it's a story about five people who are trapped in a house, with some bad guys outside wanting to kill them, because of something one of the people in the house found.

The story came to me in a dream. I have been awake for an hour, so it's still somewhat fresh. The ending is, anyway. Now I just need to start writing!
