I think I might have messed up my hand.. Whoops..

Today, I was told to report to a school, for some janitorial tasks. It is a school I know well, because I spent a few months there as a youth center worker. So I arrive and I get told, to take a seat and relax. The tasks would begin shortly. So I plant my rear in a chair, and wait. 30 minutes later, the work begins. First order of business: Clean underneath some grates. I was up for that, so I went into a shed, to get a crowbar. I am not alone during the tasks. The janitor is also there, so we are lifting up the grate together.

Now, this sucker is HEAVY! Like, properly heavy. At least 50 kilos. We get this lump of steel up against the wall, and it is then I feel a sharp pain in my right hand. I ignore it and start shoveling the dirt into a black bin bag. The pain is still there. I think to myself, that it will pass. But it didn't. When I use my hand, it's not hurting. But when I make a fist with my hand, then it hurts. I hope it's nothing serious, since I need to report at the school tomorrow, for more janitorial duties.

If my hand is still hurting tomorrow, I am calling my doctor to get their suggestion as to what to do. Hopefully they don't say "E.R". That would REALLY mess up my day even more.

My good deed for the day!

On my way home from work, I found a wallet on the ground. There were no bills in it, but strangely, the coins were there.

Ahead of me were two people who were doing some gardening, so I walked up to them, and asked if it was their wallet. It wasn't, but one of them suggested that I looked at the cards in the wallet, to see if I could find some form of ID and an address. As luck would have it, the address were there, so I looked it up on Google Maps, and then I set off to return the lost property.

40 minutes later, I arrived at the house. I rang the door, and waited a bit. I was thinking about leaving it with the neighbor, but before I could do that, the door opened. "Hello. I have found a wallet!".. The look on the guys face was pure relief! He thanked me, invited me inside and then he went through the wallet, to see if anything was missing. Apart from the bills, everything was there. "You need a finders fee", was his immediate reaction. I told him that it wasn't required, but he insisted. I had no other say on the matter, so off we went to the bank. He withdrew some money, and gave them to me, with a "thank you so much!" and a smile! We then went our separate ways, and I felt really good about it!

Change of plan!

Yesterday, I told you about meeting up with K and playing some X Wing. Unfortunately, that will no longer go through. Mainly because I just want to stay home and go to bed early, but also because I can't afford to go. Not until August 1st, which is a few days away. I told K this, and while she was extremely disappointed, she ultimately agreed, that it would be wisest to wait until we both could afford it. So now I have the evening open to do whatever I want to. There are still a few hours to kill before the livestream, so I am thinking I am gonna watch a movie or play a video game. Or look for a job. I think the job hunting is the most important one.

I hate letting people down, even if it's for a small reason. I always, always, always keep my appointments, unless something has come across, that I cannot change. Like the lack of money, for example. Speaking of money.. I placed a pre-order on Cyberpunk 2077, but it has been postponed so many times, that I have requested a refund. Rather refund the pre-order, than letting it sit. I got the email today saying it's been refunded, which is great news. The money will be released within the next 5 days, but hopefully they will come before the 5th day.

Today was good, despite the cancellation of the game event. I found a car key, but to what car? The key had a Hyundai logo on it, but there are lots of Hyundais driving around. I couldn't see any car near the key, so it might have been dropped on purpose or something. We will never know!

Some thoughts.

On my way home from work today, a song came on my playlist that made me think. The artist was Tim Christensen, and the song was called Right Next To The Right One. The first lines are: "What if we were meant to be together. What is you were meant to be the one". That made me think long and hard.

As some of the regular clickers on this blog knows, I had a friend stay with me for a few months. R, as I called her. I ended up kind of falling for her, which I told her. She didn't feel the same way, which was a bummer. She's now dating someone, and I am happy for her. I haven't spoken to her since March. That time was a phone call that lasted for about 30 minutes. Anyway, back to the thought I had today!

You see, I keep telling myself that I am over R. That it is done. Completely over for me. The truth is.. It isn't.. The lines in the song made me think "What if R and I were meant to be together? What if she was meant to be the one for me?".. I will never know if that's true, since she's happy in her relationship (at least that's what I think she is), so I will never get to find out if that really is the case, or if it'll end bad..

Some of you will probably go "But what about K? You go on and on about her!".. While it's true I go on and on about her, I am just not there yet. Will it come? Maybe. You never know..

I need to get those thoughts about R and I out of my head. If I don't, it will eat me up from the inside - again. She is easy to love, hard to forget. I have told her that. Her response was that I had to try harder to get over her completely. One day I might.

What else happened today? Well I applied for a job at the Police force. They are looking for admin employees for their office in the Copenhagen airport. It's a part time temp job, but there is a good chance that it'll be extended. The salary is good as well, so we'll see what happens. Also, when I had to apply for the job, I noticed my small shift-button was sticky - because I spilled a bit of coke on it.. Great! Luckily I have a spare keyboard close by, so I might switch to that.

Also, Mike Pompeo is in Denmark. Or, well, he landed yesterday. He might still be here, I dunno.. The point is.. When he met Jeppe Koefod, Pompeo walked over to Jeppe with an aim to shake his hand. Now, given that we don't have a Covid outbreak here anymore, it would be stupid to shake the hand of a man, who comes from a country where the epidemic is spiraling out of control. So Jeppe patted Pompeo on the shoulder. Well done! We don't really want to risk getting another wave of Covid here!

Community work and other stuff

The community work I have started has been great. Lots of exercise, fresh air and meeting new people. However, today was a bit.. Well, annoying.

I was up at 6.30 am, as usual. Ate some breakfast and left for the place I was last week, which was a school. I am helping to clean it and make sure it looks tip top when the students are coming back. I was told, that the regular guy was going on holiday last week, but he would inform his boss of what had to be done this week. So I am there before I am supposed to start, and I walk into the school. I drop off my things, and I report to the replacement guy at the office.

"Morning! What do you have for me today?", I asked. The reply was "I didn't know you were coming. Nobody told me anything".. So we agreed, that I was gonna pick up the trash around the school, and then head back home again. I was annoyed, but at the same time kind of relieved. An early finish meant being able to sort out some things here at home, which I was quite happy with. So tomorrow I am going to report to the company at 7.30 am, which means up at 6 am! Not gonna be an issue at all, I like getting up early anyway!

In other news: I am currently thinking of writing down keywords for a new short story, that I might develop into something I want to sell to someone. Might! Not sure yet. I still need to have the basics written down. Right now, the story is mostly in my head. Well, the logline is anyway. From that, I need to develop characters, setting and basic plot. It'll be great!

Pretty slow week, not gonna lie..

This week has been extremely low action. I have mainly been very bored, so I have been playing some video games. I know, I should get out more, but the temperature is either scorching hot, or it's raining and it's extremely windy.

So what kind of games have I been playing? I have been delving into Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and No Man's Sky. I have been in touch with K via messages, since she's on holiday with her family at the moment. When she gets home, we are gonna meet up for some food and conversation. We have decided to take a trip to the zoo. We just need to figure out when that is going to happen. There is a campaign on at the moment, where there's 50% off the admission price. Then we'll just pack our own lunch and then head off to see some cute animals. I am gonna go straight to the reptiles and the spiders! I love spiders! And snakes.

The last time I was at the zoo, they were building the new elephant enclosure. It was finished in 2008, so it's at least 12 years since I have been to the zoo. 50% off the admission price is really drawing me in, if I am honest. I am bringing my camera, so I can take some pics while I am there. So many animals to photograph! But we are gonna talk about it once K is back home. In a way, I kind of miss being able to visit her on a moments notice. Soon!

But for now, it's time for bed. It's almost midnight here, so the day is slowly drawing to a close. Tomorrow, I think I am gonna apply for some jobs and watch some horror movies on Netflix. For that, I need snacks, and I don't have any. It's off to the supermarket tomorrow before I watch movies, then!

I finally have air condition!

Well... Sort of... Let me explain!

I have had a VERY hot bedroom for a long time now. When the sun is out, it's like an oven here! Even with the curtain up and the window open. When it was peak heat, I went through 4 t shirts a day - even without doing anything. I felt so awful and sticky! So I thought to myself "How am I gonna cool down my bedroom?". My roommate then came up with a great idea: Buy myself a Day Air cooler with LED lights! So I went hunting for one, and I found it for cheap! Like, VERY cheap! 100 kroner, which in US dollars is about $15. It even has a water tank on the side! This air cooler is SO good! It takes the water from the tank, and turns it into a mist, that is sprayed out of the air cooler, thus cooling down my bedroom! It's been a literal godsend! Now my bedroom is at a pleasant temperature! The only trouble is that the air cooler goes through a 2 liter bottle of water every day! It is just a testament to just how much my bedroom needed this!

In other news, if you could call it that.. I applied for a job in Greece. it's a customer service job, for a new streaming service that is going live soon here. I sent off the details, and I got a call earlier today. The guy on the other end of the phone started to berate me for my information in my CV. It was like he was talking to someone who was "not all there", to put it bluntly. So I declined and hung up. The job might be a fantastic thing, but if the recruiter is a piece of manure, then I am simply not interested. So for now, I am staying here in Denmark. I just need to continue looking for jobs. There MUST be something for me out there.

Other than that, my day has been alright. I have just been watching a lot of YouTube videos and played some video games. Tomorrow is gonna be good as well, I can feel it!

Slow Saturday with a bunch of movies!

I had a browse of Netflix yesterday morning, and I came across The Old Guard, starring Charlize Theron. The movie is about 4 immortal mercenaries, that are exposed, and are now hunted like wild animals. On top of that, they are also getting a new member of their squad, so they also need to keep her safe. It's a great premise, and the movie is solid! It's a great mix of supernatural stuff (not horror, but more like immortality) and gory action. Highly recommended.

After that, Netflix recommended Minority Report to me. I have never seen it, so I gave it a shot, and I really liked it. It's starring Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell, and it's a sci-fi flick about a society, where murder is not a thing anymore. But, our hero is exposed as a possible killer, and he is now forced to run and to make sure, that the pre-crime premonition is wrong. Very highly recommended!

The final film I watched, was Lost Bullet. A French action thriller about a small-time criminal turned mechanic for something called a Go-Fast team (police in super armored cars and massive engines). He is forced to defend his innocence, after his mentor is killed by dirty cops. The movie is a great mix between The Fast and the Furious and Taxi. Taxi because it involves a criminal working with cops, and The fast and the Furious because there is a few fast cars and some insanely crazy car stunts! Extremely recommended!

So all the films I saw yesterday, were really top of the line entertainment. Some blood and gore, some super cool sci-fi and some good old fashioned vehicular entertainment!

An almost no-life week has gone by - and it was great!

This past week I have been delving into Ancient Greece, and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I have completed the story, and now I am just completing the rest of what this, frankly, awesome game has to offer. I have slain Medusa, a Minotaur, a Sphinx and a Cyclops, in order to seal Atlantis for good! I have sunk a ton of ships, assassinated cult members, politicians, countless soldiers and animals, in order to earn enough drachmae and supplies to upgrade my ship, The Adrestia. I am almost at the legendary status, which earns me the right to be feared on the waves.

But I have also stepped out of the virtual world for a few days. One of those times were when K spontaneously asked me if I wanted to come by. I hit the shower and 30 minutes later, I was at her place. We made some good food, and I decided to introduce her to my newest passion: WWE. I feared that it might not be for her, but she was pretty hooked on it.She even began to say the signature Ric Flair thing: "Wooo"! Next step is to introduce her to the PPV's, but they are around 4-5 hours long. We just need to load up on snaxx and drinks, and then go full on WWE mode. I didn't spend the night there, but I took the second to last train home, so I got to spend a few hours with her. I didn't stay, because she had some things to attend to fairly early on the following day, so I wanted to allow her to give that her full attention, because that's the kind of friend I am.

Yesterday, however, I started in what can best be described as community service, but not in that "You've done something illegal, so therefore you must atone by doing community service", but more in the sense of "You are unemployed and on benefits. Let's make you work for those benefits". I love it, because I get fresh air and a LOT of exercise. I walked 18.599 steps in 5 hours.. My legs today feel like they have been subjected to a leglock from Charlotte Flair, the QUEEN herself. But despite that, I felt great when I woke up today, which is a plus, I suppose.

This weekend, I am doing absolutely nothing. Well, other than playing some more Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, or maybe some NBA 2K20, since it's free for PS+ subscribers.

One thing I do know is: It sure is gonna be weird when I have finished Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Great day today!

I had what I would possibly describe as my best day in a very long time! There is a cafe close to me, that is run by a friend of mine. He decided to show the Formula 1 race today, so of course I went. The race was intense. 20 cars started, 11 finished. Three cars alone DNF'ed on the last lap. Nine cars didn't finish, which is just unheard of. The race was about two hours, so once it finished, it was about 5 pm. I then decided to get myself a pizza, which was absolutely fantastic! It was just a regular boring pizza. Nothing extremely fancy. The toppings were cheese, tomato sauce and shredded ham. I usually go for a pepperoni pizza, but not today. I wasn't really in the mood for it, if I am honest.

While I ate the pizza, I watched some WWE. I am hooked on it! I try to watch at least one episode a day, sometimes more. It also depends on what I watch. WrestleMania is about 5 hours, but mos PPV's are about 3 and a half hours. WWE Network is easily the best value for money ever! I pay a low amount to enjoy a TON of wrestling! One of the matches was between Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. It was a brutal fight, with blood being shed at the end. It was awesome! I would love to see a show live one day, but they have only been to Denmark once, back in 2017. From what I have seen, the show was amazing! But for now, I will have to make due with the WWE Network, which is fine. I can sit in my chair and scream at the tv, while Randy Orton does his RKOs or when Elias gets interrupted when he plays his songs.

And yes, I know WWE is fake. It's basically a big stunt show with some buff performers.

So to sum up: My day today had video games, Formula 1, pizza AND WWE.

Diablo III and other things

These past few days, I have been looking for jobs and playing a LOT of Diablo III. If you are unfamiliar with the Diablo franchise, let me sum it up fairly briefly: It is a hack-and-slash action role-playing video game, developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The aim of the game is to kill Diablo, the Prime Evil. In order to do that, you need to complete Four acts of quests. In Diablo III, they range from killing a certain amount of demons to locating major things, such as a soul stone, a head or something entirely different.

Before you start, you pick a class. I am playing as a Necromancer, but I have completed the game with a Wizard, which is a great class to play. I am on my second play-through at the moment, and I am almost finished with the game. My next character is gonna be a Crusader, which I am very excited to play. I might also bump up the difficulty for this one, since I really need a challenge. At the moment, I think it's too easy to level up and kill Diablo.

Naturally, with a game where the title is 'Diablo', there are some people, who are against it, or people who are doubting, whether you can play the game and still be a Christian. I found a website, where Christians are discussing the game. It is actually quite interesting to read, what they think of the game. If you are interested in reading that conversation, click this link here:

Full disclosure: I was baptized in the Christian faith, but I am not a practicing Christian. I am open to it, however. It all depends on when the time is right and all that good stuff. I attend church sometimes, but it's mostly when there are weddings, baptisms or funerals.

Quick side note: If you go to my previous blog, and look at the comment section, you're probably thinking "Wait a minute, you turned comments off", and the answer to that is yes. Yes I have. Your next question is probably "But why did you do that?". I did it, because I felt that what needed to be said, had been said. Also, it looked like it could escalate at any minute, which is exactly what I feared would happen. That is the reason, why I don't post political stuff. No more of those blogs..

Anyway.. Back to the video games.. Diablo III is a fantastic game, that delivers hours and hours of fun! There are 7 (yes, seven) classes, each with their own unique play-style. So many ways to build your perfect character. It could be a mix of summoning skeletons and bone spikes, to fire and ice. The main story line is short, finished in just 10 hours. But, after that you can go into Adventure Mode, and really rake up the play time! Some say it's endless, which I kind of agree on. So, if you have a PS4, Xbox One or a PC, give this game a look. I promise you will have a BOATLOAD of fun!

The single most BOSS thing - EVER!

On this 4th of July, what better way to celebrate the US independence with something that just screams "AMERICA!"

Embedded image from another site

Meet the Hennessey Goliath 6X6. A badass truck from Texan tuner Hennessey Performance. Based on a 2019 / 2020 Chevrolet Silverado truck, the GOLIATH 6X6 takes the already very capable Chevy 4X4 truck and elevates its off-road capabilities to another level. (Hennessey's words, not mine). But what makes this truck so boss? Here are the upgrade list:

6X6 Conversion with additional axle, wheels, tires and brakes
All new rear suspension system
Eight-inch lift kit
Custom 6X6 truck bed
Hennessey 20-inch wheels
BFG 37-inch off-road tires
GOLIATH 6X6 & HENNESSEY graphics
Rollbar upgrade
LED lights
Hennessey front and rear bumpers
450 bhp engine upgrade (cold air intake and stainless steel exhaust upgrade)
3 year / 36,000 mile warranty

Upgrades are available, if you didn't think this was mad enough. The upgrades are: stroker motor upgrade, Brembo brake system upgrade and custom interior upgrade. Sadly, the production is/was limited to just 24 trucks, so there is a good chance all of them would have been sold already.

In total, this badass boss of a truck packs 800 horsepower, and it's just the single most awesome and BOSS thing ever! The price? Oh, well.. It's $375K, but that includes the truck. I guess you could buy the upgrade kit and make it the biggest DIY job ever, but.. You need access to highly trained specialists, since you need to fit an entire axle on the truck, so it is best to leave it to the pros on this one.

But come on - you cannot deny that this truck is seriously BOSS!
