Am I in love? I think so!

Earlier today. I went shopping for food. When I came into the shop, I went straight for the bread isle, since I need some for sandwiches. I then made my way towards the frozen produce section, and there it was - smiling in my face, BEGGING me to indulge. It's one of those "love at first sight and taste" situations. This looked and tasted particularly well. I know it will hurt me in the end. I need to stop this addiction before it becomes something that I cannot live without. I have tried a different model, and that was equally as glorious. Both taste amazing, and both can very quickly ruin me financially. I brought it home with me, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Each taste, each indulge left me wanting more and more. Before I knew it, it was over. That made me sad, since I loved it so.

I am talking about a Monster Energy drink, you pervert! I know how you think

It's called Juiced, and it's mango flavored! The other one I had was named The Doctor, and it tasted like pineapples, which is my favorite fruit.

If I somehow end up with a sponsorship by Monster Energy, I will be the happiest man on Earth!

The Loudest Voice Episode 1 + 2 - a review!

The new tv show from Showtime about Roger Ailes, the Chairman and CEO of Fox News and Fox Television Studios is on HBO Nordic, so I decided to give it a view. The show stars Russell Crowe as Roger Ailes, and it depicts his entire history of Fox News. From the humble beginnings to the 9/11 attacks and all the way up to his death.

Keeping bias out of this review, I enjoyed watching the story unfold. I love Russell's portrayal of Roger, and I find it interesting to see, how Fox grew from a, let's be honest, amateur studio to the giant powerhouse we see today.

Nothing is left out. Every scandal. Every mistake. Every low and every high are in the show. Episode 1 starts in 1995, and it depicts several key points in Fox News, among those how Hannity was hired. The drama slowly unfolds, and it also shows how much of a mess Fox was in the beginning.

Episode 2 starts out on the morning of 9/11, where we see a fast-thinking Roger, doing what he did best - break the news to the people. The episode also showed the negative effect of that. Breaking the wrong, and often unsubstantiated news, like the time when we were told that Saddam Hussein had WMD's, and then Geraldo Rivera openly lied about him being in Tora Bora.

I look forward to the next episode, on the 14th of july.

So far, I give this series a 7/10. Room for improvement, but it doesn't need much to be a great show!

Bingewatching movies and the future.

I have spent all day today watching movies on Netflix. I am relaxing, waiting for the time to leave for my third shift at the festival. It's a night shift, from midnight to 8 am, which is the toughest one yet. Nothing much happens, so it'll be nice to relax, for a change. I am bringing my powerbank and something to drink with me, so I don't get completely bored out of my mind. Cars will come, but at some point, they will close the gate, so nobody can come in. That is something I look forward to, since it will mean I will be able to catch up on some things in my life.

Regarding my blog yesterday, about messing things up with my friend, who I will refer to as R from now on, I have begun writing a huge apology to her, where I list all the things I have been dishonest about. That was one of her demands, if she was to ever forgive me. So I would have to man up and confess all my wrong doings. It's the only way that I can have any sort of hope to salvage the friendship. I am not expecting things to be the same again, and nor should they. I will always have this hanging over me. At the back of her mind, she will constantly be thinking "Is he lying?". I am prepared for that.

I have this friend, who I go back with a long time. Actually, most of my friendships are extremely long. Anyway, let's call her K. K is currently in a mental facility, being treated for her mental illness. She was the one who gave me my first real kiss, way back in 2010. I was 26 back then, and it just felt right. The day after, she said it was a mistake. It should never have happened, but it did. We wrote each other on and off, and we lost contact five years ago. We only just recently got talking again. Once she has been discharged from the facility, I will visit her. What will happen from there, I do not know. Don't mistake this for me moving on to someone else already, because it's not. I am not like that. The last time I had any sort of romantic involvement with anyone, where it was mutual, was in 2014. The love I have for R started last year, after I met her in person. Before that, me and R had been online buddies for the past 15 years.

Anyway, K is showing an interest in me, because I am there for her, listening to her stories and her complaining. About the meds she is taking, what ails her and how every friend in her life except me are gone. Nobody wants to speak to her, which I think is super mean. She is a wonderful person, and she doesn't deserve that done to her. K and I had a fling at some point, that led up to the kiss, but after that, she became somewhat distant. Wouldn't talk to me or anything. Maybe she was scared to tell me straight. But I would have been fine with her not wanting to be more than friends. As long as I had her friendship, all was good. Luckily, we are past that now.

I also have a story to tell about how I was almost run over twice yesterday, but that will come at a later date.

I will leave comments on - for now. I reserve the right to delete any comments that are of a s*xual nature, since I don't think those are appropriate.

July 7, 2019

We are slowly approaching the end of the year. I know there are over 5 months left, but they will fly by FAST. I know from experience.

It is therefore time for me to ask the inevitable question: Am I happy with how 2019 has progressed?

Somewhat. I have experienced new things, lost some things and laid some plans for my future. Those plans include getting a job, moving to a different city and possibly find someone I can love. But I am not in any hurry regarding that. It will happen when it happens.

This October will mark the first full year since my father died. This year has been hard without him here. I miss coming up to his place and hang out with him. I miss his extremely bad jokes, and his light demeanor. I really need to visit his grave soon, just to catch up with him.

Let's see what the rest of this year brings. I have decided to completely stop talking about R, since it's a matter that I will keep private from now on. Any personal things will be kept private, now that I give it one more thought.

Now it's time to get some lunch. Brioche buns with some mayo, lettuce, ham and cucumber sounds like a winner! Yum!

File sent and other stuff.

Here's the facts:

1: Me and R are not dating. Nor are we intimate in bed. We are just good friends.

2: I wrote her two pages of me apologizing. Noting everything I did wrong in detail, upon her request. I told her, to read it when she had the time, since I want her to understand that I acknowledge my mistakes head on.

3: She has been visiting other guys while visiting me - which I was fine with. She has even been intimate with a few of them. If me and her were in a relationship together, don't you think I would have dumped her on the spot? Thought she was a bad person?

With those facts out of the way, it's now time to focus on other things. Like the fact that there is one more shift left of my festival experience. 4 pm to midnight. After that, I am going home to sleep for a week. I am so exhausted. The shift that really broke me was the midnight to 8 am one. Not that there was a lot to do, but night shifts really are the worst - especially since I aren't getting paid for it. But I meet some new people, and I get to see the concerts that I want to see, so that's a plus.

Will I return next year? No. Not there, at least. There are many other jobs available to do at the festival. Crowd Safety, for example. I did that two years in a row, and I liked that. I got to meet some bands, and the shifts are great.

I watched a movie yesterday called IO. It's a movie about Earth being evacuated, due to the air quality. It has an ending that I didn't expect. It's on Netflix, at least here in Denmark.

In closing: Due to some people, who cannot seem to say anything without it turning into something lewd, I will turn off comments. If you want to comment on the blog, then write me a message.

I have messed everything up!

Remember that blog I wrote, where I said I would be honest with my friend? Well, that has come around to bite me in the rear.

She wrote me today, saying that in order to forgive me completely, I would have to be honest with her, about her phone. She values honesty above everything else.

I wrote her honestly, saying that what I did with her phone was beneath me. It was stupid, irresponsible and it would forever haunt me. I am not going into details, so you don't have to ask. Just know that I messed up big time.

I now have to write her a list of everything I am going to be honest about, which is a lot. From how I truly feel, to why I actually did what I did to her phone. I didn't hack it, bug it or tracked it, though, so those things are not even up for consideration.

The fact is: I love her. Truly, I do. Which is why I am kicking myself over and over for doing what I did. I will have to write her a very, very, VERY long message, explaining myself in detail. Holding nothing back. This is the only way I can make sure I am absolutely, 100% honest with her. I don't want to wake up one day, and not have her to talk to, which is something that can very much happen if I am not careful. I asked her about the things she left here. I offered to send them to her, but she wants to pick them up. I am not sure it is a great idea, which I will have to explain to her in the message.

Sidenote: ANY comments to this blog, that I find stupid or childish, WILL be deleted!

The Danish Dream!

You hear lots of things about the American Dream, which is coming from nothing to have everything you could ever want: A house, kids, a loving wife, a well-paying job and a vehicle of some sort. Many people come from abroad to take part in that dream, and some want to start working on that dream - myself included.

I need a visa in order to start working on that dream, but it's expensive to get one. I read somewhere, that it'll cost me $5000 just to get the process started, which is money that I don't have - yet. So I am going to start looking at achieving the Danish dream. I am not sure if it is something that exists, though. Maybe I'll just form it in my head.

Anyway, the start of my Danish dream, is to get myself a well-paying job. I have certain skills, that will net me a great job, but I never have the chance to prove myself, due to the fact, that companies reject my application. Once I do get that perfect job, I am gonna start saving up for the deposit on a house or an apartment. I found one close to me, selling at $250.459. It's a 2-bedroom apartment, which measures 559 square feet. Not the biggest place, but it's perfect for me. The view is amazing from there, which is one of the reasons why it's a bit pricey. It's close to everything, so it would definitely be a suitable place for me. If I somehow find a woman to spend my life with, she can move in as well. If kids are on the table, well then we'll have to move into something bigger. I am spitballing here, but the plan is definitely forming in my head.

When I have secured that perfect place, I will look into getting my drivers license, and a small car. Cars here are VERY expensive, as is fuel. In Denmark, the current price, for 1 US gallon of fuel, is $7. Regarding the cars.. Let's take a car that is available in the US as well as Denmark: The Ford Mustang. Let's take the 2019 Bullit version. It's available in both countries, with the same spec. In the US, the price of a 2019 Ford Mustang Bullit Edition is $47.690. The same car, with exactly the same spec, is $120.945 here. That is a price difference of $73.255. That amount alone is the import tax we have here.

Once I have paid TWICE(ish) for that lovely pony car, I think I will have made it. I own my own home, bought my own car and have a loving wife. What else could you want? Well, a holiday home somewhere wouldn't hurt, but apart from that. My life would be so much better, if I had those things mentioned above.

I am not saying that money makes you happy, because they don't. I am just saying, that living a life with no worry about saving money somewhere, is a life I would love to live at one point.

That, for me, is the Danish dream - and it sounds amazing!

Designated Survivor (Season 2 + 3) - a review!

A few months ago, I watched the first season of Designated Survivor. I liked it, but I noted that the season ended on a flat note. I decided to knock out the remaining two seasons these past few days, and here is what I think of it: I loved it!

I really didn't think I would, but something about it really tickled my funny bone. Kiefer Sutherland is back as President Kirkman, as is Adan Canto as Aaron Shore, Kal Penn as Seth Wright, Italia Ricci as Emily Rhodes, Maggie Q as Hannah Wells and LaMonica Garrett as Mike Ritter.

New faces include Kim Raver as Andrea Frost, a brilliant tech genius, Paulo Costanzo as Lyor Boone, a hypochondriac and somewhat awkward fellow, Julie White as Lorraine Zimmer, a brash and no-nonsense political strategist, Anthony Edwards as Mars Harper, the new Chief of Staff who is extremely by the book and Geoff Pierson as Cornelius Moss, the 44th President of the United States.

Season 2 starts off with the continued look for Patrick Lloyd, the bomber responsible for blowing up the Capitol. On top of that, they also have to fend off terror plots, political smears, intrigues and good old fashioned office-rumors.

Season 3 is much more violent, and you can tell that Netflix picked it up, since the language is far more rough and non-kid friendly, not that the show is that anyway. In typical Netflix fashion, they push the envelope regarding sex and language, and I don't mind that at all. It's refreshing to see a show like that.

We also get to deal with an incredible amount of losses in the two seasons. Some are more vicious and heart wrenching than others.

All in all, I liked these last two seasons of the show. I have yet to hear anything about a season 4, but it will happen, I think.

Season 2: 7/10
Season 3: 8/10

Will Donald Trump really cure cancer?

A few days ago, Joe Biden said, that if he was elected President, "we will cure cancer". I read a lot of people mocking that idea.

In Orlando, at Trumps re-election campaign launch, the sitting President promised, that "we will cure cancer".

Does that mean that Trump is "stealing" other candidates promises? Does he REALLY want to cure cancer? What will the medical industry in the US think of this?

He wants to put American astronauts on the surface of Mars, which will cost a LOT! I kind of doubt if Trump knows how far away Mars is, because he tweeted "For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon - We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!"

I will look forward to this presidential campaign! Both Trumps and whoever gets the Democratic nominee!

It's festival time!

Today, I had the utmost pleasure of being a volunteer at a festival called the Roskilde Festival, which is 45 minutes away from me by car. I took the train, because the bus wasn't running at 6.30 am on a Sunday morning.

I was going to be there by 8 am, and begin my shift. I was there on time, as usual. I was told the kind of duties I had to perform. Basically, I had to scan the chip in the wristband on the cars, trucks and semi trucks, that wanted to enter the festival grounds. Everything went smooth from the getgo, albeit with some errors and some tailbacks, due to an Error 40. Error 40 means "The object 40 centimeters from the screen (I.E. you).

The weather cleared up, and the temperature quickly rose to 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit, to those of you that use that measuring scale). Endless lines of cars, trucks, bikes, semi trucks and workers came to my place. Even the police came through the checkpoint.

I quickly got my work down to a routine: I would stand directly in front of the car, holding my arms out to signal "stop", run over and scan the chip in their wristband, and then let them through into the grounds. If people were coming up to us, we had to tell them to walk 50 meters (164 feet) to a checkpoint for people on foot.

Of course, with this outdoors work, you get a good amount of exercise. I am currently at 27.722 steps - the best ever for me. Now, all this sounds like bliss, but me being an idiot, I forgot sunscreen, which made my arms look like a lobster with three hours to go of my 8 hour shift. So what did I do? Put on my long-sleeve shirt I wore when I arrived. It was hot, but worth it in the end

If you are wondering how many people are attending the Roskilde Festival, here are some figures for you: 8 days. 130000 visitors. About 180 acts. Spectacular art + events. International audience. Delicious food. Non-profit all the way.

It's a festival that dates all the way back to 1971, so it's pretty old by now.

If you want to attend a European festival sometime, give Roskilde Festival a shot. If only, just to see if it is worth it in the end.

Brightburn - a review!

I have finished Brightburn a few minutes ago, and it's amazing!

The story is pretty straight forward: What if Superman was evil instead of good?

The movie is produced by James Gunn, who is known from making Marvel movies, and it is a classic, no-nonsense, suspenseful horror film, with a lot of brutal imagery.

I will not go into a lot of detail here, because that will ruin the movie. Understand, though, that this isn't your classic feel-good movie, and it is super dark and depressing throughout the entirety.

Jackson A. Dunn plays Brandon Breyer, the kid known as Brightburn. He gives a fantasticaly creepy performance, and he is definitely someone you should look out for in the future. His parents, Tori and Kyle Breyer are played by Elizabeth Banks and David Denman respectively.

To give you an example on how brutal this film is, here is a scene from the movie

As you can see, it's a properly brutal movie, and if you are squeamish, then you need to give this a pass. If you are up for an amazing horror movie, with great practical effects, then watch Brightburn. I really enjoyed watching it!

9/10!

I look forward to the sequel!

Russia!

Ah, Russia. The country that has given us SO much laughter, amazement and rage.

This is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and North Asia, that is widely considered to be the largest country in the World, measuring a WHOPPING 6,612,073 square miles. The population of Russia is 146,793,744 people, making it the 9th most populous country in the World. The President is Vladimir Putin.

The official currency is Rubles, which is not worth a lot. 1 Ruble is 16 US cents, so if you want to invest in property, there's your shot!

Russia is a PAINFULLY beautiful country, once you get out into the countryside. I mean, look at this!

Embedded image from another site

This is the Sayan Mountains, in the southern part of Russia

Besides breathtaking beauty, Russia is also known for this:

YouTube is packed with stuff like this! I once asked my old co-worker Ivan (that was his real name, by the way) from Russia, why they drive like that. He told me, that Russian people are very proud, so nobody can tell them anything or make them do anything. If a Russian wants to drive through the gap 3 inches too small for his car, he's gonna drive through it, dammit!

It might also have something to do with driving schools being corrupt. There are driving rules in Russia, but they are being ignored - spectacularly.

Now, being that we are talking about Russia, we HAVE to talk about the elephant in the room - alcohol!

You see, Russia has some of the cheapest alcohol you can buy. 0.5 liters of quality vodka is $3.01 The government raised the prices three years ago. Back then, the same bottle of vodka would cost you $2.8.. So, they have raised the price by 31 cents. For a bottle of vodka. No wonder they drive like in the video above.

I know, alcohol might not be the only factor in the bad driving. They could also just be, you know, bad drivers. Every country has them, even the US and Denmark. I have seen plenty of dash cam footage from both Denmark and USA to know, that bad drivers exist everywhere. The reason, why we see so many from Russia, is because that Russian drivers were the first to install dash cams, because of the many false injury claims that people put forward.

Of course, this post isn't just going to praise Russia. It's also going to be a bit critical. So let's begin with that, shall we?

Russia has had some bad examples when it comes to treatment of people. They are notorious for running gulags, which was the government agency in charge of the Soviet forced-labour camp-system that was set up under Vladimir Lenin and reached its peak during Joseph Stalin's rule from the 1930s to the early 1950s. Gulag is actually an acronym: Glavnoye Upravleniye Lagerei, which translates to Chief Administration of Corrective Labor Camps. The gulags were brutal! If you want to read about them, click this link here, but I warn you: It's strong stuff, man!

I have never been to Russia, but some of my family has. They thought it was interesting, but they would never want to go back.

So there we have it - some info about Russia! Have you ever been to Russia?
