Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin feared dead in plane crash.

Well that looks like another of Putin's enemies been killed by his hit men. But good riddance any way.

"A Wagner-linked Telegram channel has suggested that a plane carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin was shot down by Russian air defences.

Grey Zone, which has a close relationship to the paramilitary group, said: “Before the plane crash, two local residents listened to two bursts of characteristic air defence.

“This is confirmed by contrails in the sky in one of the videos, as well as the words of direct eyewitnesses.”"

LoL, not it was in Russia on a flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg. There are videos of it all. It seems his plane got hit by an S-300 Russian anti aircraft missile. Readers with good memory will remember when some Iranian military men accidentally mistook a passenger plane taking off from Tehran for an incoming enemy bomber and shot it down. There are many possible scenarios here.
A) drunk Russian air defense personnel decided the passenger jet was a drone.
B) Putin ordered the hit (what remains of Wagner likes this one and has vowed revenge).
C) The Russian Defense Minister, on his own authority, ordered it done.
D) Loyal to Putin and Z members of Russia's military did it on their own authority.
E) Like the failed march on the Kremlin it is all fake, Prigozhin was not on the plane and the people killed were just sacrificed window dressing to make it look like he is dead.

Besides the video of the shoot down, there are now publicly available (watch the video below. (Skip the first 15 minutes. The plane video followed by on the ground wreckage views) is the first topic after that.) images of the wreckage showing the many shrapnel punctures in the airplane skin which only come from an anti aircraft missile spewing shrapnel.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Many there regard the death of these war criminals as a marvelous gift to Ukraine. that the death of Russia's best field commander may have been at the order of Putin is a great source of humor to many. Of course whoever ordered it, the participation of Wagner in Syria and Niger just kind of went pffft. Dean man walking I called him two months ago (to the day). I was right. LoL

Was this an approved flight path because they were flying towards Vladimir Putin's residence in Valday, where surface-to-air missile / anti-aircraft missile regiments are installed. So maybe a case of shoot first and ask questions later.

Although some of the writers here appear to be intentionally ignoring the video footage (Enforcer YT link above) from the crash scene clearly showing flak / shrapnel holes in the plane body's fuselage or the fact that the Kremlin began announcing the man's death almost synonymous with the plane hitting the ground well before emergency units could arrive at the crash site and even begin to check for survivors, fret not. The latest official version is that whoever was piloting the plane appeared to have turned off the plane's transponder shortly after taking off. This caused it to display on Russian air defense radars in the vicinity of the shoot down as an unknown air craft, probably a drone. This justified the neutralizing of an apparent threat.

Well that version came from the Russian Ministry of Defense about 2 hours ago. We won't know for a few more hours if the Kremlin wants to keep that version, or if it will disappear from the MoD website and be replaced by something else such as a flock of pigeons hit the plane, or the plane design was faulty. Such is life in Russia.

Noitng normally in a normal commercial aircraft crash investigation the plane manufacturer also has people participating in the investigation. The Brazilian company that made this plane today confirmed they have not been invited to participate.

An interesting thing that the journalist should choose 'feared' in the headline - lazy cliche journalism perhaps. Why feared instead of believed or reported for example. I wonder who would be afraid he might have died?

The Wagner men who were not on the plane. Because almost immediately things began happening on the fround to them in Rostov, Belarus, etc.

I am not \(given the holes in the fuselage and the smoke trail of an apparent missile) that shocked that nothing was heard from the plane after the explosion. The crew was probably already dead or dying.

That Russian farmer did a pretty good job of capturing things with his camera. Probably, given the area, Putin never anticipated someone on the ground would have a camera in hand and be able to take the images he did. The farmer heard the explosions and immediately pivoted his camera upwards and captured the video of Prigozhin's plane. I lifted the image below from the video which is btw the first video in Enforcer's YouTube above.



That is a fairly typical anti-aircraft missile smoke trail that you see after one goes off and throws out it's load of shrapnel. If you watch some of the videos from Ukraine and the various drone downings you see a lot of such smoke trails. The contrail of the missile going up, the puff where it exploded and the fan shaped contrail the shrapnel leaves as it disperses. Woe to everyone in the path of that lethal hail of shrapnel.

The farmer and his family heard two explosions before they looked up and began filming. His was not the only video of the downing, but it is the best showing yes Virginia, it was a missile. There is other video of the plane going down showing it had a fair sized hole in the fuselage (which probably explains the 2 missing bodies (who will probably be found by smell eventually) and the tail section fluttering it's own path downwards.

An interesting thing Enforcer picked up on in his latest podcast. Olga's TV show aired a video of a plane falling out of the sky which she identified as footage of Prigozhin's plane from someone else's camera. However it showed a falling Antonov 25, not the kind of plane Prigozhin was in. So checking his own video files of ptior podcasts he made, Enforcer identified the clip Olga was claiming was Prigozhin's plane as being a video of one of the jets Wagner shot down 2 months ago during the fake coup.

There are a dew explanations for such a glitch. Russian state TV has a staff that is completely incompetent. Or, The bosses of Russian state TV, being incompetent themselves assume their audience also is. Either way this is further proof that Russian state TV should not be one's first go to for accurate news.
