Life & Death
Death is a somber thought but we must all die. Some may think that we are born only to die but between birth and death, the gods gave us a life.Life is not just about living or surviving. It is about doing things and reaching goals. But time waits for no one. Nothing will happen by itself; you have to make it happen. You have to find the time to do the things you want to do.
Not every baby that is born gets to live a life like you. If you can read this, you are more fortunate than many before you; and many others still to come. You had the opportunity to live for some time; long enough to take control of your life. The rest of your life is in your hands.
There is no point in blaming yesterday for the woes of today. Likewise, your dreamboat of tomorrow won’t sail if it is built on the emptiness of today.
The clock is running. Make the most of today. It is the first day of the rest of your life. Don’t waste it.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present .

Have a great weekend yourself, Catfoot
Yep I will, thank you. I'll have no family around me until the 28th.
I'm uncoupling my brain so I can hook out properly. I'm having a few friends coming over tomorrow for a braai.
Just had some bad news yesterday...my good friend died of a heart attack...only 52 years old...you just never know when your going to die...here is to a good friend...RIP...
With all the people around, I can only invite one friend at a time. Now, with everybody gone, I can invite a few more. I should really get my own place again. The granny flat is nice and it is convenient to get my supper cooked every night but I miss my space.
It great seeing you again and I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
It is amazing how many seemingly healthy people die in their fifties due to heart attacks.
Life is beautiful but one must learn to appreciate it. It's like boiled some sweets, hard but sweet.
Cat, it's a bit scary when you get to our age and realise that we're through the major part of our lives
We do need to make the most of every day, even more so
Sorry for taking so long to respond. I'm having enough connectivity problems to drive me up the bend.
Yes, age descends upon you like a vulture. It was a disillusion when it first dawned upon me that there are a still a few things that I won't have the time to do. But I have few regrets. I lived a full life and graciously there are still a few things I can do.
Growing old gracefully is one of them.
I hope it is better later
love the family and all that, but i certainly love seeing the back of them also
Make the most, and enjoy your space whilst you can
I am including myself in that group by the way.
I envy people who take those chances, jump out of that building, live life on the edge.
Why don't the rest of us?
Because we might die?
NEWSFLASH : We are going to anyway!
I think people who are beyond childbearing age should have an automatic switch-on button which removes fear and all thoughts of responsibility
Their primary function, ensuring the future of humanity is done. After that, life should be fair game.
Molly now I am a bit closer to death I have given over riska persuits and am more cautious I do not want to come in the race early with death that is
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present".
This a great saying!!! How very very true!
I wish everyone a very happy weekend!
Lou , sorry to hear of your friend, thoughts and prayers are with you,
I promise you I won't fall overboard. It is just going to be nice to have the whole bunch together. When my sister heard about my plans she was annoyed with me for waiting until she's not here. We share a few friends. The thing is she never invites them and by the time she's done her invites, I can only invite one friend and a spouse.
I made a mistake to sell my house. Since then I have just been falling around.
my own impending death. There is a Woman here with a switch on button. I have an idea about it's location.
I disagree. When I have decided I am ready to shuffle off this stage, I intend (to continue my climb) to reach the summit of the tallest structure that will bear me, dive headlong into an overstuffed mattress, and dissolve into a cloud of feathers.
That is if the climb doesn't do me in first.
