Raw Toast

I have just discovered that I have been eating raw toast my entire life!

I visited some friends in the big city and they had a machine called a "toaster", they simply put 2 slices of raw toast in and within a few minutes it "pop-up" and there before my eyes were slices of perfectly cooked toast.

They told me these machines had been around for decades...no one told me!
I went to a shop and found dozens of these weird machines, my toast is now raw now.

Anyone else know of this?

Raw toast....confused .....
man up, we've been eating raw toast in the Canaries for years! professor
well, I don't really trust newfangled inventions. Solar-powered raw toast was good enough for my ancestors and is good enough for me. And in summer, you leave those bits of bread on the pavement long enough, they practically BURN. How would a machine know how to get it just right? confused
Cal, yes Raw toast, I have always assumed that it was toast, I was told I was eating toast by my mother and grandmother, Now I know they lied it was just stuff called bread.
I even got told the other day that eggs can be fried in a pan, not only on the roof of your car in summer.

I must say I've missed eggs since moving to Scotland. I could get to eat them more than once or twice a year, if the pan story is true.
Jam...hmmm I will send you some info.

Biff, I dont believe it!........next thing you will say people used to make it with fire. I was told by Google that these toasters have computer chips in them...thats even scarier to me.
Hi map I think what you are describing is bread that hasn't obviously been toasted.
Elegs I know of someone who cooked a whole chicken on the engine of her car.
Biff...I just had a culinary idea...if this frying pan thing is real, imagine a fried egg on toast...That will take off, I should patent that.
Thinking of importing...professor Soon I'll be wealthy, healthy(cos of eating the toast) and wise.thumbs up
You heard the crazy story of putting clothes in a machine...bit of powder...press a button and bingo....an hour later clean clothes.....madness...uh oh ..
No...not for me...i shall continue rubbing them with a stone by the lake....sad flower
CC..Obviously in America you have these machines, Im told the Pilgrims took one over on the Mayflower, or was it the Native Americans who taught them?

Cooked a whole chicken in the engine of her car?...whats a car?
map I think you are pulling everyones leg.laugh
lightbulb idea for breakfast........poached egg on toast, there is a chicken farm further in the west, I'll go there mañana & see if I can poach an egg from them. Shouldn't be any gamekeepers around if I go in siesta time.
Luke..No more Rusks for you then!

Cal...NO WAY, Thats someone pulling your leg, The only method is as you describe, nothing like fresh rock beaten river washed sheets at night.
CC..Pulling legs is not my style, it hurts.

Jam, Poaching carries a serious prison term!, I would see if you can get some on the black market rather.
plenty blacks living around here, Map, I'll ask around.

Look, I found a pic of one of those toast machines you are talking about.....looks pretty dodgy to me! What do you do with it? Do you feed the bread in at that gap at the bottom?

Rob and Biff...You going on about something called smartphones, Im sure my black bakelite with auto return dialer is the latest available, I just upgraded from 2 tins with a piece of string between them.

I suppose you have been watching that "Star Trek" on the picture radio?
confused

Mic, You Americans have got it made, your telephone sounds real smart.
Well Map. Your friend's toaster couldn't have been very modern because mine can toast 4 pieces of bread at the same time.applause
Dan...your just a greedy pig.....laugh .....
Mapmaker, wave Years ago we had ice boxes to keep food cold, and they weren t even made out of ice, rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Daniela..What?...Surely not, 4 pieces at once? That sounds a bit far fetched but I have only just discovered these machines so will take your word for it.
1to1to1...And I understand all your cars have glove boxes that are not made from gloves..Ice box?, Now mine is a hole in the wall with some burlap on the outside, we keep it wet and our roadkill or other things like hard milk stay fresh.
Cal..I have to ask, is it true that in Switzerland you keep birds inside your clocks?, and that they are forced to come out about every hour and sing?
Map, you've really got to get with it man, we're in the clockwork not the stone age professor

Mic, phone not connected to the wall indeed doh put your glasses on, then you'll be able to see the string nerd laugh

Yeh...like we believe you Dan....grin ....

Unlaoised, It was called Rhodesia in my day, we had roads and everything!
Zim was a pile of rocks near Bulawayo.
