Beautiful spring

I don't know about the other parts of the world but where I am?

It's paradise. Spring is here with flowers blooming and the birds singing.

Let's celebrate life, shall we?

It's short, much shorter than the trees..and, some other creatures. .

The price of being sick

Normally I like to begin my yard work in mid May. The April showers have finished, the grass has been growing since mid February, and a mowing in mid May will usually last till early July for the meadow grass.

Sadly, as some know, this year mowing in mid May was not an option for me. So some rains, some sun, some more rain..

Well today I decided to tackle it. OMG, some of the meadow grass is over 40 inches tall already. And while I was in the hospital the vines took over some of my windows and buried my poor hedges.

My poor house

Did I mention my poor 1950s tractor with the 5' bush hog has a flat (original to the tractor, a Chief tire) tire and I am waiting on a new replica tire to arrive so I can mount it?

Fortunately I am both cleared for exercise, and I have a back up plan. A top of the line DR Field and Brush Mower.

So today I began attacking my side yard.

Hacking away

Here, the pesky vines have been dealt with, but work on the side yard is barely begun.

As sundown nears, the side yard is done. Note the tip of the DR sticking out. :)

Not done yet, acres of meadows on the other side and in front to go, but I am sure me and the DR can do it. Hoo Rah!

RS, I loved the ending of tonight's Game of Thrones. Dragon Power. :)

Women are losing their minds?

Is that true?

I was listening to Art Bell one night and it was on the program called are you losing your mind.

In the middle of talking to a woman, Art decided to take in some random calls. A man is on the other side. He says, woman are losing their minds. He says, women want sex right away and no long term relationships.

Art starts laughing and asks the woman he is talking to if that is true. She replies, I wish I can give away my body.

dunno

I am not sure Art laughed after hearing that. uh oh

Taking things for granite...

English is a second language for most of the people I come in contact with. Some get it right and some don't.
Air conditioning mechanics (and amateur handymen) affix duct work with a strong, long lasting tape named 'Duct Tape. For those who hear it differently call it Duck Tape.
So many pronounce it incorrectly that it gave rise to a company who manufactures Duct Tape under the name of Duck Tape!
Lots of Spanish speaking people in the drafting/engineering field often label drawings Guest bedroom as Guess bedroom... I guess they're not sure who will be sleeping overnight.
If it belongs to me, I say "it's mine" and not "it's mines"

So let's not take things for granite when it should be for granted, otherwise it's a waist of time!

Moving... for the 28th time....

So I'm packing... and thinking of all the places I've lived before.

So I counted them up and shock, horror, this is the 28th move in 26 years!

blues

When I think about it, there was always seemed to be a good reason for moving at the time... but now I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever stop. Although I am saying that YES this is definitely the LAST time!! grin

I have two sisters, both a lot older than me, who have only ever lived in two homes. Their childhood home and then the one they bought with their husbands. Do I envy them? NO! The thought of being in the same place for that long terrifies me....

Am I extreme in this? Is there anyone else out there that's done the same? Should I just buy a camper van and stop trying to settle? roll eyes I'd appreciate your thoughts.....

Life begins after 55

There was a time when being in one’s fifties meant you were old, unemployable, stuck in a rut and just waiting to be one of life’s dearly departed.

These days, however, many people enjoy a good thirty or more years of youthful activity, with at least twenty of these without the need to work.

For many that now find themselves single after raising children, got divorced or separated the world is your oyster. You have the love of family yet are free to finally find the type of love you dreamed of as a teenager.

Just look at the benefits... You can spend all your time sharing an unparalleled togetherness with your partner, doing what pleases you both without distraction, ties or commitments.
You have the opportunity to profit from the joy of grandchildren, your ambitions, in the main have been achieved. You have the financial means to indulge in hobbies or travel and with maturity comes the knowledge of comfort within ourselves.

Now is the time to profit from the adventures that life has to offer.

Awareness

Hi Bloggers - long time no blog help

Im in a bit of a pickle, and wanted to know, is there a scientific term for this.

I think its something like conscious & un conscious awareness.

Eg, your driving, and suddenly become aware, you are much further into your journey, and cant remember passing certain landmarks or villages.

My mate & I always ref to it, as, an alien picked up my car, and placed me further down the road rolling on the floor laughing

Im sure there is a proper term for this, but, cant remember what it is.

Can anyone tell me ?

Have a fab Saturday night cheers
