EGGS

So here's the deal- if you buy your eggs in a carton, do you use them all from one end towards the other, or do you use them from both ends of the carton to keep the weight balanced? Nothing shits me as badly as when you pick up an egg carton, and all the weight is at one end. Why must these morons do this? Cant they see how dangerous it is using them this way as somebody not prepared for it could easily drop them.

Become famous - upset people. It's so today.

There’s a post on FB doing the rounds – the average Brit pensioner gets £79 a week, the average asylum seeker gets £350 a week, a free car, luxury housing, etc etc, share if you think this is a disgrace.

The FB friend who shared it is raging very mad and so are the other comments. It is, of course, a joke – or so the original poster would claim. No intention to spread false information, no no no. I posted a copy-paste from the UK govt website showing exactly what allowances an asylum seeker can claim (around 10% of the amount quoted), and also the current full state pension (more than double the figure quoted). The angry comments have stopped but I’m the party-pooper. People want to be angry. We live in a world where people want to be lied to, they love to be outraged.

The current potus is, by modern standards, the most successful in history. Whether people are fawning, mocking, or gobbling like turkeys with rage, he fulfils the modern need to a T. Everyone has heard of him, everyone has an opinion, and every other politician in the world seems to be acting out in the hope of getting as much attention. Never mind the quality, feel the width.

Get with the beat, Baggy. I may be gone a while, I am trying to work out my best way of cashing in on now that I have finally worked out how it's done

Which are you ...

When the chips are down, when the crisis strikes, some of us will be heroes, some of us will put self and loved ones first, some will dance for attention and some will trample the old and the very young to get to perceived safety.

Heroes tend to be very quiet about it - after heavy snow, will dig out an elderly neighbour's path: in a crisis will take food over: in a transport strike will find out who may need deliveries or help. Heroic acts can be hard to list since they are so often under the radar.

Charity begins at home - those who will make sure they and theirs (all theirs - even the not much liked) are okay before looking outside to more public acts

The attention seekers will be very vocal especially at blaming everyone they think caused the crisis, and not perhaps as useful as they think they are but think they are very useful indeed. In fairness they can be heroic - if the audience is there.

The utterly selfish are I'm alright, Jack, you can push the boat out. Right now they're the ones with the mountains of loo paper, sanitizer, and enough hoarded to last 3 months, who took everything on the shelf and shouted abuse at anyone protesting or asking for just one of what was piled to excess in their trolleys. The hated ones.

Example on a plane - Every plane's safety briefing stresses that when the masks drop down, put your own on first, THEN help even your own children. Sensible and practical. So on my plane - the heroes will leave their seats to help someone struggling with their mask and even buddy-breathe until help comes - most of us will sit tight trying to not get in the way - the attention-getters will be shouting that they'll sue the airline - and the utterly selfish won't wake the person sleeping next to them but instead take their mask since two is obviously better than one.

I may have missed some types.

When you find a life partner...you inherit..

You inherit more than just their body.

Here are some of the things that I have thought of that you inherit when you find a life partner....maybe not inherit directly, but maybe also indirectly.

You inherit their:

their debt
their criminal history
their health
their family
their wealth
their hate
their love
their personality
their enemies
their friends
their philosophy on life
their disease
their headaches
their positive glow of energy
their caring
their dislikes
their hygiene
their filth
their education
their ignorance
their burdens
their resources
their touch
their coldness
....everything about them

Of course....you give equally.

It makes me wonder, is that why hook up culture is so prevalent today? Have people become too ugly for a lifetime partnership? Or, have they become too selfish to take on another's "everything"....or too greedy to share their "everything." Or is it...they are too busy to take on or share their "everything." No matter what it is...it should tell you something about them.

Just a little something....

Happy Friday all.

strange female anomaly

I know this guy, he is a good friend. He recently told me about 100's of women who started to send him friend requests on FB. He told me, I don't know what is going on. So he decided to start chatting with some of them.

He showed me their pictures. They are gorgeous women in their 30's.

So, he figured some, if not all, these women are most likely scammers. So he told the ones he was interested in talking with, to take a picture of themselves holding up three fingers. He said some never responded back.....some took offense...and some actually did take selfies with three fingers being held up. He even showed me. Beautiful ladies, holding three fingers up.

He was even more baffled as to what was going on. Because he figured he would not get any of these women to actually do that because he figured they were just scammers. So, he could not really figure out what was going on.

Finally, a possible explanation. After talking with these women for days, they started to come clean with him. These women had some stuff in common. They had children and they were about to become evicted. One woman even told my friend that she could learn to love him.

So...take that for whatever it is.

My friend figures that people were set up. They were given all this unemployment money. They were told that they did not have to pay rent. With the additional unemployment money they were given, my friend figured that they no longer qualified for welfare programs due to their income now being too high. ...and on top of it, these people will need to pay income tax on that income....and they are without a job in many cases.

To me...the easy answer to these women's problems is to go out and get a job. But, is it really that easy for them to do? What happens to the children when they start working? Maybe they don't have parents that will watch the kids for them. What happens if employers are hesitant on hiring them? As far as I know, a person's credit rating is assessed by potential employers...and if they have not been paying their rent, then what?

Anyway...food for thought. I am still wondering how hundreds of women decided to send him friends requests....but, I have seen it with my own eyes and the problems that some of these single mothers are facing seem to be the real deal.

dunno

The only thing I can think is...no matter what, it is difficult to escape the consequence of our decisions...even more so today with privacy eroding.

YOU HAVE COME A LONG WAY

Thinking back over my life when I was a child and growing up I had a good life and a good family.

When at the age of 12 I lost my father to cancer, and It seemed as some years past the family was not as secure and seem to have drifted away to our own destinations.

I fell into a life that was not brought up to be but had no father figure to be there for me and guide me as we was as youngsters.

after felled marriages and letting my family down and myself it came to the day I grew up, and starting to get back the life I should have been living,,yes it took a lot of years and I am not sure if I have arrived yet but I can say to myself YOU HAVE COME A LONG WAY.

Was talking to someone today that was telling me there life story and made me reflecting back on my on.

Life is great, and just think of the time we lost.

couple thoughts

It has been said that social media has been used to study people....including moods. Is it possible that politics use this data in order to manipulate the masses.

For example...has a lot of people in society become more in line with narcissistic (selfies and all)....and some politicians understand that there is a large majority of people who react favorably to this sort of behavior? In other words, are we being played?

Another fun thought of mine....

If a crazy person calls you sane, does that make you crazy? laugh

Anyway...I have no time right now...will comment later on. wave

What changed between then and now?

After the 1996 plane crash of TWA flight 800 in New York my GF didn't want to fly anymore. So, we would go up to Newport Rhode Island (smallest state in the nation) for our summer vacations.

Newport was the hot spot vacation place on the east coast during the 1800's. The wealthiest Americans from the Vanderbilts to the Astors amongst many others built mansions along the famous Cliff Walk. These were their summer homes and are now all donated to the Newport Historical Association and available for touring. These homes were built at the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

A few movies were filmed in the mansions like the Great Gatsby, True Lies, 27 Dresses and many others. My favorite mansion was called the Breakers it was 70 rooms total and half those rooms were for the help. It was built in 1892 and completed in 1895, it took 2,000 men. Pic below... One thing I always found amazing in the home was that the husband and wifes bedrooms were separate, but ajoined by a door. Her room was 10 times the size of his. She would entertain her socialite women friends and share tea in her bedroom. His bedroom was big enough to fit his bed, dresser and a chair...that's it.....Back then married couples had sex just to procreate, so on average maybe 8 times a year....

We've all done that in a weekend at some point in our lives, I'm sure.

So, in 100-120 years what changed? When did having sex become a sport? Didn't they enjoy sex back then as well? Did they start adding testosterone with the fluride to our water supply? Was guilt the wildcard?
