SuperHeroes

This blog is inspired by a previous blog. Not to put anybody down or criticize or ridicule. Its not like me to do that just to make myself look or feel better...

I was brought up in a very conservative family. A semi-puritan upbringing with very solid family values that taught me to be confident of myself and in my thoughts and values. I am neither your Barbie doll who would just sit all day and just look pretty and dull. These hands of mine work to save lives every day. So I do not just sit around facing my laptop looking for men. My choice in men is nobody's business. If I say im attracted to "The Hulk" it concerns no one, but e. I comment on blogs and forums depending on my opinion and belief. And I am not very flexible in that area. If somehow my belief and opinion, does not suit one's likes, he or she is freeto trash them..

If some stranger think me shallow and insubstantial, that's fine. There are people whose opinion matter more to me.

English As A Second Language.

To the non-native English speaker, learning English can be a nightmare. Especially when you don’t have a good tutor on standby. Not that my own language is unblemished. We have exceptions to every rule and even rules to those exceptions with their own exceptions.doh

But what boggles my mind the most about English is how to pronounce the words. Why is it that the ough in similar looking words like cough, plough, through, tough, and though are pronounced different in each case. How am I to know how to pronounce it without the help of a native English-speaking person, bearing in mind that half our English teachers, esp in primary school, could not speak proper English.help

As if that is not enough they also invented an animal called phrasal verbs. Things like throw up, throw down, throw in, and throw out. My first reaction will be to believe that throw up and throw down must be opposite actions but vomit and drop are not even related actions.confused

Next, we have make up, make over, and make out. Make up is such an interesting verb with at least 11 different meanings ranging from resolving an argument to fabricating a BS story. wow

If make up describes the action of applying facial cosmetics then surely the process of removing it, must be make down and, by the same logic, if shut up is an instruction to keep quiet then shut down must be permission to talk again. Right?grin

Then I did not even mention talk over, talk into, talk down, talk up, and talk out. Oh, and then we still have take on, take off, take in, take out, take over, take up, and take down. If an airplane takes off from one location, does it take on at the destination? I think not.laugh

The strangeness of it all is that most these phrasal verbs have perfectly acceptable equivalents. Why can’t we rather use them? It is so much less confusing. Oops, was that an oxymoron?professor

I think I should stop it right here because one thing will only lead to the next and we will be here all day. But all this makes me wonder exactly who invented English and what they were smoking at the time.dunno

A Muslim President

Americans have never had a problem making it clear what they want and what they don’t want. Years ago, the country wrestled with the idea of a Catholic presidential candidate named John F. Kennedy. Eventually, cooler heads determined that they young man could indeed think for himself and would not be taking orders from the Pope on how to serve the office of President. Many of those same principles have helped us vote into office a number of “different” people including the first black president. Race, color, creed, and political belief rarely have a serious impact on the capability of the individual to serve their nation and the daunting task of the Presidency.

All of that being said, one must also be aware of the all too important factor of timing. The timing of when a person can and should run for president is essential. Essential to gain political, financial, and emotional support to stay in and be victorious in such a daunting task. Some would say that the presidency is really all about acceptance by the majority but those that have studied the office as well as those that have served in it realize that it is really all about being able to represent the American people. Not just the majority but the minority as well. Insuring that every voice is heard and all are considered. Certainly not easy when a person tries to stay true to their own beliefs as well as represent those of others then not only might not agree with, but with whom they might have serious reservations about.

A Muslim president would face even greater scrutiny. Not only from every non-Muslin but from the devoted Muslims who claim the Quran directs all sort of things that would be in direct conflict with other major religions here that must be given equal representation without reservation. A Muslin president would have to defend the rights of others where it would also directly conflict with the views of Clerics who would certainly demand strict obedience to their own interpretative point of view.

So, while a Muslim certainly has every legal, ethical, and moral right to run for and hold the office, the challenges and difficulties of the same would seem to be insurmountable. We can only add that similar opinions were held against the idea of a Catholic president, yet we had a very successful one.

My own father used to always tell me that just about everything in life boils down to a matter of politics or timing. At this point in time it would certainly appear that here is a case where both politics and timing are all wrong. Perhaps in the future, a very moderate person of that faith might be able to be elected, but they would most certainly find the challenges to be great. We can only hope that we will once again see a day when all faiths are at peace with each other and such a person might be able to measure up in the eyes of the American public, but sadly, that day is not now nor does it appear that it will be in the near future.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF ENDOMETRIOSIS

Endometriosis is a disease of the active reproductive life of women. It is unusual before the menarche and is most frequent in women in their twenties and thirties. Pelvic endometriosis in teenagers, may be somewhat more common than has generally been appreciated. With increasing use of laparoscopy, endometriosis has been found more frequently in teenagers than was conventionally believed. In any case, the diagnosis should be considered, even in teenagers, if there are any suggestive physical findings, or if the menstrual discomfort differs from that usually accompanying primary dysmenorrhea in terms of its nature, location, and response to standard therapy.
As would be predicted, it ceases almost entirely to be a problem after menopause because with cessation of cyclic ovarian function the lesions ordinarily atrophy and regress, leading to softening and almost complete disappearance of the secondary surrounding fibrotic nodules and scar tissue deformities. Occasional exceptions to the postmenopausal inactivity of the disease, have been encountered and reported, but they are rare. In some cases reactivation of the disease may have been induced by hormonal therapy. Occasionally, at the time of laparotomy for other causes, in post menopausal women, persistent scarring in the form of cul-de-sac obliteration, old adnexal adhesions, or pelvic tissue plane distortions may point to the probable prior presence of pelvic endometriosis, but microscopic proof is usually absent due to the total atrophy of the endometrial glands and stroma.
Thus, the typical patient is in her twenties or early thirties, is either single or has married late, and has voluntarily delayed childbearing, or is suffering from involuntary sterility. Many nulliparous, and the rest usually have had one or two pregnancies.

The amount of pain associated with the disease, is not related to the extent or size of the implants. Some women with endometriosis have no symptoms, others suffer from severe symptoms, debilitating pain and even infertility.

Don't beg for love..... :):)

Don't look for love, beg for love, or suffer for love. Just live.

Treat yourself with respect, don't let yourself beg for love .......
Treat yourself as a person of value. Prize yourself, as the one who loves you will prize you. You need to be some man's/womans choice... right choice.
