My Valentine

I never make a fuss about big days like Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day and the likes. To me it is just a commercialized moneymaking racket and the real meanings of these days have long been forgotten.roll eyes

Oh, I’ll join the fun if there is a party somewhere and if not, I normally book a table somewhere well in advance. But I never waste my money on expensive cards and BS that end up in the dustbin a week later. It is the same with Guy Fawkes Day. I'm not upset with my money and won't set it alight. When my children were still young, I used to buy a few fancy rockets just to see the awe in their faces but that was a long time ago.mumbling

I don’t know what is happening this year; maybe I’m going bonkers in my old days. Where I normally book a table at the more average places, I booked a table at one of the more expensive places. I never eat seafood when I eat out, yet I selected a place that specializes in seafood. I normally buy the first and the best Valentine cards but this year I spent about thirty minutes browsing fancy Valentine cards and ended up buying what probably was the most expensive card in the shop.wow

All because of a certain woman from Gauteng who happens to like seafood and who I probably won’t see again after tomorrow. So, it is not even an investment for the future. Why am I trying so hard to impress her? And the worst of it is that she cannot be impressed by any of this. If I entertain her at home and treat her on take-away fish and chips, wrapped in newspaper, she’d be happy too. She’s easily the least demanding woman I met in my life.applause

And before you tell me I’m in love; I’m not. Yorkie still steal my thoughts too often; not as often as before but she’s still somewhere there. sigh

I wish you all a happy Valentine's Day.bouquet

and I said dont call me , I'll call you ..

I wonder how can i get more selfish than this, but then i read at the bottom of the picture , it suggest that he will say "what did you say your name was again ? " dunno frustrated sigh

Why do men fear rejection by women?

Why do men fear rejection by women?

In traditional terms, the rejection men experience is an active rejection, whereas what women experience, is more a passive rejection. For women it is one of being overlooked, not being approached
The arising superficial feelings resulting from an active rejection, is normally a feeling of anger in men, and in women, normally that of helplessness. But those are just cover feelings for the core feeling, which is a feeling of a lack of approval for who you are.

If we feel confident in who we are, we would not react to a rejection personally, or feel wounded by it. We would rather ask ourselves whether a) Did I use the wrong bait b) Wrong time, wrong place c)There is a better person, opportunity waiting for me d)What can I learn from it to improve myself .

In every other aspect of life we acknowledge that we do not all have the same tastes, so we do not feel bad because someone does not like the same things we do, so why do we not accept that the same applies in the search for romantic relationships? Yes, we may be rejected by most people, but there will be someone out there, even though it may seem impossible, that will be able to relate to you. In seeking romantic relationships we are looking only for the approval of one person, not heavens forbid, to be the most popular, or in demand. Guys share your experience...
How did you handle rejection at this site????

A Pain In The Back

This morning I woke up with a sore back for a second day in a row. At first I thought to replace my mattress but I have a good mattress that I bought just over a year ago. help

At my age one would expect a mattress to last a little bit longer than a year which involuntarily reminded me that the problem may not be with the mattress at all; it could simply be a matter of age. After giving it some thought I discarded the idea. I did not get that much older overnight. I know some will not agree with me but three days ago my back was still fine and therefore my age is not a factor here. tongue

When I retraced my steps over the last few days to see if I did not sprain my back, it turned up nothing either. The most strenuous activity the last few weeks was to pull the chair out from under the table and every time I did the proper warming up exercises before attempting it. Besides, if it was a sprained back it would be sore all the time and in this case the pain in the back disappears about an half an hour after getting up. mumbling

This should not happen. I’m reasonably fit and although I have not gone fishing since I was taken out of my cotton-lined retirement box some six weeks ago, I still run around the block six times every morning before I stash the block under the bed again. Then maybe there is too much blood and not enough seawater in my veins. So will I have to sit with this pain in the back for another three weeks until I can climb back into my retirement box to go fishing again? moping

Then I remembered my quack telling me a few months ago to give up half my sex life. I did not think much of his advice at the time as, at the present time, my entire sex life can be clearly divided into two parts. Thinking about it and talking about it. devil

The dilemma is which half do I give up? If I stop thinking about it, I won’t talk about it. That will be giving up sex altogether. It simply won’t do. And if I stop talking about it, I will have nothing to talk about in the pub. Drinking in silence can only lead to more drinking. Perhaps I must see another quack for a second opinion. doh

Now enjoy the day and don’t be a pain in the back! wave
