kissmedeeply: Oh Lordy you are not God..

So pls john..What you believe and think is the facts dont make it true..

I least I haven't been proven to state faulty ones on this subject like you have. You have strong opinions on this and I respect that, but other than you don't like guns you have proven to be wrong on some things you state. You should pick battles that you know something about. You have lost this one in my opinion.

kissmedeeply: anyway..i dont really care about the laws..

as i said..but i do listen to the police here..

Not many people here in NB carry firearms..

I know you are going to say i am full of it..

I don't know anyone in Canada that carries a firearm unless they're at the range, out hunting or in a like situation/setting.

I would never take legal advice from the police, they're trained to lie, and quite often don't really know the law.laugh

Buckg73: If a guy breaks into my house again and tries to hurt me or those close to me, I hope they die when I shoot them. Yes, I will absolutely kill someone who is threatening to kill me or those close to me.

That is just how I feel. I want to be on a level playing field if someone is threatening me with a gun. A bat just wouldn't do it in some circumstances. Thank God it worked for your friend and that you live in a very safe place.

Well i dont think my life is any better then taking another life..

but again each to their own

I just re-read that, I guess it didn't work for your friend if he went to jail and the perpetrator got off scott-free.

jeepers: Out here in the Caribbean it is very difficult to get a gun, along with a permit to have one....unless you're a thug ! They are the ones with guns here. Lately there has been at least one person a day killed, innocent people being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even the police are afraid for there life here. I am all for gun rights, but it just doesn't work right here.
I should add that this island only has 50,000 people, the statistics are not good.
I am not trying to scare people away from the Caribbean at all. It is a safe place, you just have to be careful where you hang out at night time along with the people you get involved with. Life is irie mon !! (life is good)

Nobody is above the law, not the police, judges or anyone else, period.

If this retired policeman gave you any of the info you have provided here, then I'd say he has no clue.
