smilemore: i have not arms and frankly wish not have
first because ..if someone else is more fast than you ..you are died the same even if you own a gun ,and second in some cases law is very strange ..also if this is for defense ..if you kill someone ..for sure you need to have a process ..and maybe sentence

so i really don't see .. convinience of own a gun
thumbs up

kissmedeeply: Maybe you guys are full of it..

You are not the law..

and if i listen to you..I probably would be in jail

We might be full of it. We are not the law. But, I do believe I am careful to post correct information on such a sensitive subject.

Research the Canadian laws on gun control yourself on the internet. You were wrong. Just admit it and move on. It is okay that you don't like guns and don't want any in your home.

I will own mine and my Canadian friends will continue to own their under Canadian law.

I have a question for those who say that nobody should have a gun:
Does that include the police?
Just wondering.

kissmedeeply: becos we cant..
you have to register them to hunt..

I know becos the police came into a house and seized guns and swords

kidatheart: You can legally purchase a firearm, register it, own it and keep it in your house. This includes all handguns, rifles and shotguns, and some are also allowed to purchase and own restricted firearms, such as fully automatic and even bazookas.

Better not listen to the police in your area, sounds like they're full of it.

kissmedeeply: Did i not say that before in the thead..

I said you cannot legally go and just buy a gun and have it in ur house..

I said you have to HAVE IT REGISTERED

You left out to hunt kissmedeeply. You not knowing the law and saying the cops from Canada told you that they are not legal frightens melaugh

By law, a potential customer must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a firearm or legally maintain possession of one. Citizens of Canada under the age of 18 but over the age of 12 may procure a Minor’s Licence which does not allow them to purchase a firearm but allows them to borrow a firearm unsupervised and purchase ammunition. Children under the age of 12 that are found to need a firearm to hunt or trap may also be awarded the Minor's Licence. This is generally reserved for children in remote locations, primarily aboriginal communities that engage in sustenance hunting. - wiki

The US Constitution was written by smart people. Honest, law-abiding citizens should be able to own and carry firearms in their own defense. I'm all for TRAINING and thoughtful weapons choice for a defense weapon (my brother-in-law carried a 6" Mod 29 IN A CITY...INAPPROPRIATE!). However being a retired police officer, I fully support honest citizens being armed. I fear any politician that's trying to get my guns and more of my freedoms and money.

I've survived this long without a gun.

In all honesty guns scare the crap out of me and you wouldn't find one in my house.
