drbombay: I'm not against guns in the right hands(or left). US constitution states we have the right to bear arms, I would like to bare other parts too but I would be arrested. In regards to you hunters, no problem here but not for me as I tried it once and a bear got me from behind and I dropped my gun and had to think fast so I reached underneath and played with it and he let me go, not to be discouraged I went back out and the same bear was waving for me to come back.

i am sure you must have read some of the replies on this thread and how many disagee with me on the gun issues..
I just think really some dont know how dangerous they can be in the wrong hands..
but understand why some do have them and carry them..
but i dont think they really thought about the reasons why i dont want them near me or my family..

I am friends with police here..and they helped me in other ways to protect myself and family..

According to the CDC in 2006, Last up to date numbers,
30,896 total, of which,
642 accidental,
16,883 were Suicide,
12,791 were Homicide,
220 were Undetermined and
360 by Legal intervention.
Remember that in the same year,
43,664 were killed in Motor vehicle accidents,
37,286 died from poisoning,
20,823 died from unintention falls.
In 2005 CDC reported
652,091 people died from heart disease,
559,312 from cancer and
143,579 from stroke.
If looked at in the wider scheme of things, it is just one more way to die, and the figures say it is not even the most popular, or common, way to die................
To my mind though, all of these gun related deaths are definitely preventable deaths, where the others are often not.....

I'll bet that leaves out all the American war deaths during that time.

Last night, I celebrated Jamaican Independence Day with all my Jamaican friends at a reggae show at the Cricket Club here in the Bahamas. It is an outdoor venue with live band and the Jamaican National Anthem being played every hour. In a country where handguns are only allowed to be owned by the police, and illegal be possessed by anyone else, there were more handguns there than a gun show in Montana. Another reminder that gun control DOES NOT WORK!!! Happy Independence Jamaica!!! Mi nah ga worry bout it...
