If the bad guys are scoping your house, you probably would never get to your gun anyway.

mnowsa: i find the mindset of the gun owners very disturbing and frightening. These gun owners can claim all they want that they own the guns because they want to defend themselves and what not, but in reality, from a psychological point of view, most of them carrying violent minds consciously or unconsciously. And i am sorry if i offend the gun owners here.

REALLY?

Now is there some proof you have of this or is it just something that "everybody knows"? Perhaps it is the product of some deep seated mental illness?

Dish girlfriend; enlighten us, or perhaps just prove yourself to be a liar.

drbombay: Poor comparison, sorry

I thought it fit perfectly since both are deadly when the wrong hands control them. I'm sure as a former cop you've seen the results of both.

As for me, I'll keep and control both my weapons and my car. I believe most people are capable of doing the same and have the right to do so.

That does not even make sense. Take your doo-doo stirring stick and go back under your bridge Mr. Troll.

Yes, you have the right to bear arms, no problem but not what my point was sir and if you experienced half of what I have you might feel a little different.handshake

Before I realized the poster I was responding to was just a troll trying to stir some excrement I thought maybe his paranoia (perhaps born of past trama) was making him see gun crazed boogymen in every shadow.

My apologies for associating the illness of you and other good people with his revolting behavior.

I can understand you would have a unique view of the weapons issue. I was actually a cop myself for a short period of time so I can understand some of where you're coming from. I just happen to believe that most people are responsible with such things. There are of course those who are not and I'm sure you've seen your share.

Anyway, a good evening to you. We'll see you around... handshake

Btw... I find the need for teachers to carry guns in Texas schools a bit too strong for my taste. It must be seen as a signal, a bad signal, a big nasty red flag, and no pretty X in blue comes with it, neither does stars.

Registered ownership combined with a need of a licence. Just like with cars or any other dangerous materia/-l.

Why people would oppose that is beyond my ability to understand.

drbombay: The problem is that they always fall in the wrong hands and even good people with good intent can make a mistake and that's one you cannot say I'm sorry. You also have people with bad tempers and drunken hunters, children in some homes etc etc. Retired NYPD

How can you say "they always fall into the wrong hands" when the majority of guns DO NOT fall into the wrong hands?? You're sooo wrong with these words!! I take it you're a good person with good intent, I'm also bet'n you own a gun. Could you make a mistake?? Drunk'n hunters??? How about drunk'n motorists that kill so many on our highways, a lot more than drunk'n hunters!! I've always said their are folks in prison who are basically good people that had a "insane" moment. Any of us are capable of this, including you.
