Guns just even the odds. You never see a carjacker try to steal a tank.

Merriweather: If guns are banned.... as in OZ - very few people except police have them..... then that's a good thing... Methinks, if you dont have one around, then in a sticky situation, you would not be tempted to use one....
If you had a gun around, and you flipped out in anger, you would/could/might use it and then end up behind bars... for one moment of loss of reason...

Imagine your loss, and the loss of whoever it was that riled you, their family, your family.... was/is it worth it?

Best to go to the shooting gallery and have fun practicing on a target. ... and yes, I can and have been to play with a handgun and a target.

I like the way u thinkwink

The Majority of Gun Owners are more mature than you give us credit for.

If you get mad you can also get over it just as quick.

If you can't control yourself then you shouldn't be around others period(Armed or Unarmed).

To add more to that last post....

If I found myself in a "Sticky Situation" I could be faced with over whelming numbers and be at their mercy (If in your country and unarmed I Could/Would/Might face death at the hands of the aggressors).

If faced with a similar "Sticky Situation" here,I Could/Would/Might face death anyway, but at least I Could/Would/Might take a few of the scum down with me or maybe even survive to tell others like you,how your logic fails in providing safety to others and only gives aid to the aggressor.

If you're going to post on this thread and on this subject,at least make the post relevant to the discussion.

Do you see "Pro-Tank/Anti-Tank?" in the title of this thread,no it's Pro-gun/Anti-gun?

So post something useful for a change.

Instead of taking up space.

An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.

I use to hunt when I was much younger (Deer). In fact I still have my .270 with a 10X scope. It's for sale btw. I also have a .22 rifle for controling predators of my chickens. Sorry you animal rights folks but my chickens have a right to live too. Ever seen a chicken ripped to shreds by a possum? Not to worry though, I would never kill the Great Northern Gosshawk that has taken at least 4 of my hens, in fact I carefully rescued her when she crashed through the netting covering my chicken pen and was trapped inside. I put a towel over her and carried her into the woods where she flew off.
I also owned a 9mm Benelli with a delayed blowback action. I sold it when my kids came on the scene. I've heard too many horror stories of kids finding their parents gun and playing with as though it was a toy.
So I'm not a gun nut or an anti gun nut but for the life of me I can't understand why anybody needs an UZI or an AK47 or an M16 and I think these guns should be banned. My neighbor had an UZI. He brought it over one day to show it to me. I asked him what it was for because it was obvious you couldn't hunt with it. He laughed and said ha ha you know what it's for. I said no I don't. He looked at me like I was crazy. I looked at him.....he WAS crazy! This same guy got the hunting bug one winter and killed 4 deer, all Doe's, one of them was no bigger that a large dog. He just dumped them in the woods to rot and stink up the area. I was honestly relieved when he moved.
