Capricorn143: Not to accept any of the ridiculous demands made by them - but I am afraid after all the years of bending backwards and tiptoeing not to offend them it could be too late to insist on our ways/culture without using some radical measures.

The only solution for Europe now is to stop immigration from those countries altogether for a while (haha just like Trump said), try to integrate those willing to be integrated, and repatriate the rest pronto.

And to finally do something about this absurd situation where "religious freedom" overrides all the other rights

rolling on the floor laughing

gotta go.. i'll respond to this post later.

purr4mance: but 50 will be invoked correct ? because i thought in your opinion it wouldn'tthe way i understood 50 was that cameron left the responsibility to invoke with the next leader.

2 years to sign agreements. if not, harsh tax tariffs as penalties.

sounds like a mess. i hope the brits. figure it all out.

I don't think it will.
It was a venomous campaign full of untruths, on both sides, and some of which was promised by the Leave campaign has already been revoked, within hours of the vote, which has caused issues with Leave voters.

Acc to reports Article 50 will not be invoked until Sep at the earliest, when a new Prime Minister will be elected by the Tory Party.

From what I have read a lot of ppl would not have voted Leave if they knew then, what they know now.

thanks for the response,

i know the vote was very close, but the majority of the people have spoken. the results are clear. are you saying there will be another referendum to vote on and it's possible that britain will remain in the eu??

I think there is every chance that the UK remains in the EU, and I hope it does, for the sake of the peace process in N Ireland and the Good Friday agreement which is underpinned by EU Law.

I have no clue how it will play out Purr. Cameron has said there is no chance of a 2nd referendum, but he also said Article 50 would be invoked the morning after a Leave win.

Going to take an extremely brave Prime Minister to invoke leaving, who will need a clear mandate from his/her party. Both major political parties are in a mess and no forethought or planning has been given to this result.

Absolutely. We've accidentally done the right thing and many didn't realise what an uphill struggle this would be. Our worst instincts have been foiled.

Capricorn143: Difficult to see the EU bureaucrats will get to their senses - just listen to Verhofstadt's response to Brexit vote - he wants more EU - more political integration not autonomy.

Yep, very difficult.
Still think its a shock result for them and may cause some introspection.

You and many others seem to have missed the point Britain is leaving the Union, regardless the decision has been taken by the British people, do you think any government would would not carry out these wishes and hope to survive . We are going out the rest is just logistics.

Wish I knew the future like yourself Tom.
Will believe it when i see it.

Will be a massive shot in the foot if they do imo.

Good luck with Boris Johnston as PM elect.

Nightmare scenario for Ireland if Boris and the Donald get elected.
