TearUp

Remembering

Remembering the night
Where the moon and stars saw us
How you you take away the cold night
By your kisses and and warm touch
Where the cold waves breaks the silence
Im thrilled by your love touches me
As the sand goes all over to tickles us
My happiness gives a little moaning
Where the wind dance and breeze all over
Right there, where in the midst of vague night
Its only us that shines through

Let Me Be Your Love

Let me be your warmth
When all your leaves are dropped
Let me be your fire
When all you need is heat
Let me be your heart
When your love turns to stone
Let me be your eyes
When you're dark and all alone
Let me be your legs
When you’re too tired to walk
Let me be the morning sun
When you need a fresh start
Let me be your guide
When you feel confused and lost
Let me be your ticket home
When you can’t afford the cost
Let me be your mountain
That you need to step across
Let me cross the great divide
That separates you from love
Let me be your rainbow
After the storm has ended
Let me be your shooting star
Where all your dreams begin
Let me be your honest one
Who loves you with all my heart
Let me sweep you in my arms
When you are ready to start

A memory

Walking down street
I saw you there
I took a peek
You stood so lean and tall
My legs began to shake
I thought please don’t fall
I knew those black eyes of yours
My lips had once kissed your tears
It’s been many years
Who said time cures
Those black eyes as clear as glass
You were always a man of class
The short time that was had
were filled with love and tenderness
Just as our kisses
We let what we once had go
to a beautiful place in our past
As I walk away I smile
I just saw a beautiful memory
From my past

The Hurt

Have i ever loved, yes
were you ever loved, yes
how do we know
if we were the one

We keep on trying
we keep on pushing
God! we want this
Yet... it hurts.

Love takes time
We, take time
Is it worth it?!
In time, we will know,

A Single Pebble

That which is rarer than anything exposed on a beach
Gives me meaning and purpose that few of us reach
A pebble, a single pebble now kept in my pocket
I will keep safe inside this special keepsake locket
And will wear it around my neck for my protection
And hold on to your substance in my life once more
That which once was part of something much grander
Gives me the courage to ask where are you from
No more wait for incessant makes ups or breakups
Washed smooth by the rolling tides still breaking in
Worn out and perhaps weary from such long ago origins
Now all the drama of a past has gone by and been forgotten
Forever now I behold its value be held with sacred love
Glowing with each sunrise in such a warm surprise
Could it have taken me any longer to yet surmise
All that you have given back to me for that I will keep safe
All that you have given to me and now I will give back
I will always be, yes my love, I will always be here for you

Love Will Endure

Could it be so plainly obvious
That you'll know for sure
That you are deeply in love
Flowing in a heart so pure
With who left the most beautiful
Imprint on your heart for sure
With a confidence that spreads
Like ripples in a pond contour
Expect your dreams come true
Coming soon to your allure
You don’t have to do anything at all
Just keep that smile demure
When all you have to be is You
And trust this love will endure

To this we belong

When the stars forget it is night
and the air is carved open with scent
then I shall lie with you
as the fields lie open
each gesture a gift
to spurn parting of ways
for on this day
contentment has found me
all the hours pass
like wandering dunes
the sea forever plays
a shanty to our rhythm
to this we must belong

The School of Love

Your love taught me how to grieve,
While I have been in need, for centuries,
For a woman to make me grieve,
And to cry upon her arms
Like a sparrow...
For a woman to gather my pieces
Like clusters of broken crystal..

Your love taught me, my lady, my worst habits.
It taught me how to foresee my coffee- cup
Thousands of times every night,
To experience the medicine of herbalists,
And knock on the doors of the fortune tellers.

It taught me to come out of my house,
In order to comb the sidewalks,
And chase your face in the raindrops,
In the lights of cars,
In the unknown apparels,
And even to run after your spectrum
In the posters of advertisements,
And gather millions of stars from your eyes.

Your love taught me
To wander around, for hours,
Searching for a gypsy hair
Envied by all the gypsies,
Searching for a face, for a voice,
Which are all the faces and all the voices...

Your love made me enter, my lady,
Into the cities of grief
while I have never entered
The cities of grief before.
I never know
That tears are a person,
and a person without grief
Is only a reminiscence of a person...

Your love taught me
How to behave like teenagers,
To draw your face with chalk
Upon the walls,
Upon the sails of fishermen's boats,
On the Church’s bells, on the crucifixes.

Your love taught me how love could
Change the map of time...
Your love taught me, that when I fall in love
The earth will stop revolving...
Your love taught me things
That were never occurred unto me..
Thus I read children's fairytales,
Entered the palaces of the Jennies kings,
And dreamt to be wedded with the Sultan's daughter...
Those eyes are more apparent
Than the water of a lagoon
Those lips more luscious
Than the flower of pomegranates.
And I dreamt that I kidnapped her like a knight
And dreamt I gave
Her the garlands of pearl and coral stones.

Your love taught me, my lady,
What hallucination might bring....
It taught me how life may surpass
Without the coming of the Sultan's daughter...

Your love taught me
How to love you in all the things,
In the naked trees, in the yellow dry leaves,
In a rainy day, in the tempest,
In a smallest café where we drink in the evening
Our black coffee..

Your love taught me...to seek refuge,
to seek refuge in hotels without names,
In churches without names...
In cafes without names...

Your love taught me how night
Could proliferate the Strangers’ grief .
It taught me how to behold Beirut
A woman, tyrant of temptation,
A woman, wearing every evening
the most beautiful clothing she possesses,
and sprinkling perfume upon her breasts,
For the fisherman, and the princes.

Your love taught me how to cry without account.
It taught me how grief slumbers
Like a boy with his feet cut off
In the streets of Rouche and Hamra.

Your love taught me how to grieve,
And I have been in need, for centuries,
For a woman to make me grieve,
For a woman, to cry upon her arms
Like a sparrow
For a woman to gather my pieces
Like clusters of broken crystal...

neon rain

midnight, midnight
love calls me out
walking in the neon rain

midnight, midnight
simple thing, simple thing baby
full heart love with no refrain

drive by night
she said drive by night
this world has made it plain

drive by night
she said drive by night
cure my lonely heart again
