Hearts Throb

Hearts Throb.
Pensive thoughts,vacant dreams
No memories
Blown away like fallen leaves
to lie dead and forgotten
Selfishness,ego of another
Strikes at the penury of the heart
Depriving her freedom
Keeping her tethered to vows
While she wilts day by day.

Late Summer Sorrows

The chirping goes on and on
As gentle rain showers fall
Hunters in the moonlight prowl
Everything grows silent now
Then slowly one by one they go
As soon as danger has past
Till once again across the meadow
That chorus of crickets grow
Moaning that late summer sorrow
Unseen into darkness bellows
When our eyes rest our ears follow
September's gathering clans
Till a mind rests as one of them
Growing sleepy in the hollows
Till first frost spoil all their plans
When growing winds will whistle
Across the tops of drying thistles
Till that first soft blanket of snow

the pub on poet's corner

I was mending a hull
'neath the crying gull
when the call
came down the line
my dad had gone
his time had come
and a world of hurt
was mine

left my girl
to anger swirl
told her "needed space"
but I was dust
not even lust
could the hurtin'
I replace

time dragged on
when I was gone
my love
I failed to warn her
about the rendezvous
I shared with you
in a pub
on poet's corner

"I'm the ghost
of every girl you've loved"
your spectre
said to me
I'll haunt your mind
till you go blind
and then
I'll let you be

"and the bird
that nested
in the eve
fed its young
in Byron's sleeve
in the pub
on poet's corner"

so every night
my daily fight
is a scramble
to emerge
strong and well
from the bowels of hell
where dark
and madness merge

where music
from the walls
is bled
by DJ Jazzy
and a girl called Red

"and the bird
that nested in the eve
told me that
I'd never leave
the pub
on poet's corner"

Drinking with the Lord

Sunday I drink alone
Just me, the humming fridge and the Lord
I like the company of a man who's been around

The Belle of Yeavering Bell

The Belle of Yeavering Bell

It was an eye for an eye
In times gone by
A life when they lived to trade
So if you enter her home
Where you are free to roam
Be sure when you leave
You have paid.

Toss a coin into the air
Make a wish, leave it there
Listen to the whispers on the wind
Hear echoes of the past
Telling tales of those who sinned
Take the beauty
And make the memory forever last

The Belle, of Yeavering Bell
Is watching you I tell
To be sure, her hospitality is repaid
Nothing is for free
Not in the past, or now, you see
So pay your way to have no need to be afraid

You’ll be cursed if you don’t heed
To repay the Belle out of greed
For ill gains, you will now be in her debt
As she guards her sacred home
Where her ancestors roamed
You’ll live a life that you surely will regret

Emptiness

I am as poor as the nature
And as simple as heaven
My freedom is ghostly
Like the voices
Of midnight birds.
I see the breathless moon
And the sky,
Which is deathlier than the canvas;
I accept
Your painful and strange world,
Emptiness!

A Tribute to Authumn Child

Your poem brings fire into my soul,
Gone cold from this Covid world,
And now a sparkle ignite my heart,
To blaze my mind with many words .

The gulls sound their arrival,
The hull of ships are swaying,
The sea storming up in waves,
For the presence of the full moon.

Flights of dance from the air,
Rolling clouds darken the sky,
Thunder roars fill the space ,
Of where the stars suppose to stay.

Tears are falling from heaven's gate,
Quenching acres of barren lands,
Fight for survival has gone to man,
On a killing field of million animal species.

Covid comes and brings damnation,
Across the oceans and rivers beds,
To every foul living breathing monsters,
And Gaia revenge her raped nature.

About this poem:
I have been gone too long
Almost lost in another dimension
Where tragedy and vile news broadcast
With lost jobs and hunger goes begging.

I hope to stay longer
Share my view and my pleasure
Share my doubt and anger
Share my love with one another.

Thank you . Be strong
The fight has only just began.

PARENT, LOVER OR FRIEND.

Love has many sides
Take your pick and so ride
Emotions that rise and fall
Led by love and category call

Whatever form, you give your heart
Commitment grows, from the start
Parent to child, or lovers will know
Love can be painful, and yet we sow

Seeds to find someone that will care
Daily our lives, we will happily share
Until a time, when it can be no more
Time will heal with memories to store

Protection from hurt, is existence not life
So many will look again, rolling the dice
Never knowing, how it will finally end
Dreams of a stranger, becoming a friend.....

CHOICES......

All have a story to share, but time
outcome can change, leaving signs
Of path taken, the ups and downs
causing smiles, sometimes frowns

Marking time, no decisions made
some people important, others fade
Yet every step, choices lead a way
to goals and outcomes, every day

It's so important, to ourselves be true
without hurting other, gives us clues
Of right and wrong, and what to do
Treat others, as they should do to you

Sadly some people, don't really care
Make your decisions, with whom to share
Good and bad, the world has a mix
Sadly one person, alone can't fix

Yet every time, you do what's right
Quietly, without the need to fight
You'll feel better, and so you hope
Good overcomes, the majority of folk....

Whitney

Whitney Houston was one of my favorite artists growing up
The Greatest Love of All
How Will I Know
I'll Always Love You
1991 Superbowl National Anthem
and a slew of other great songs she sang as only she could
Then she met Bobby Brown
And it was a shame
He certainly isn't alone in the secret abuse that goes on behind the silver curtain
There are many, many more who have fallen to drugs and inner demons
Whitney has been gone for over eight years now
Bobby still lives on and is 51 now
Hopefully he is away from the drugs that destroyed his wife
And hopefully other will learn from this and find peace in this world without drugs
As Whitney so famously said, "Crack is Whack."
