I traveled all the way to town just to find alone
It was a sad experience but I should have known
Lonely is everywhere I go it's everywhere I've been
Tell me something I don't know I don't know if I have a friend
You can be sad when you are young but when get old
The other word is very and there's not much that needs to be told
My words are simple to comprehend
I don't know if I have a friend
I write something for me to read
I know the lines are just a few
Perhaps it brings me close to what I need
I need to give this paper to you

If all the sharp stars, fell down from up high, from spaces beyond deep blue skies...
Would you even try, to catch at least one, or stare glaring as each star dies?...
Might you doubt that I, care not for my sight, I'd stare at the sky until you...
View blue's truest blues, through night's true blue hues, bright minds sometime see more than eyes...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dark skies display stars, honed by the Sun's rays, sight gone, yet now I can see...
More clear than I ever, I pray that you never, stop shining your light down on me...
At times and on days, in ways brightly blaze, star-points pierce through the night's shades...
And I've felt the pain of your stars from the start, sharp blades fiercely pierce while they play....
The sun was in my eyes when we said goodbye
I will never know if she had a smile
Or if there were tears on her cheek
And now we have been apart
Several hundred miles
And several hundred weeks
My heart does the thinking
But the words get trapped in my head
And time passed long ago when love should have been said
Now it's too late for the words I could speak
For it's been several hundred miles
And several hundred weeks
The sun is setting low
This park bench is feeling cold
And as I leave there's no one around who needs to take my seat
The leaves begin to fall and I start to recall
It's been several hundred miles
And several hundred weeks
I thought you crystal
you called me Teak
I tried to balance 100 grains of sand on your toes
but it always fell
and you laughed
and begged me to try again
and so I did
until the tide carried us away
About this poem:
a moment in time with your lover on a beach
Author: WB Yeats
Dance there upon the shore;
What need have you to care
For wind or water's roar?
And tumble out your hair
That the salt drops have wet;
Being young you have not known
The fool's triumph, not yet
Love lost as soon as won,
Nor the best labourer dead
And all the sheaves to bind.
What need have you to dread
The monstrous crying of wind?
About this poem:
I was thumbing through an anthology of W B Yeats' poems and I warmed to this one which I thought I would share. I follow the innocence of youth theme but cant interpret the piece about the labourer, perhaps you can unlock it for me. Anyway timely poem..
What is simple anymore
Long paddles down rocky shorelines
Light winds and little waves
Cedar roots clinging to life
Struggling to survive
Solitude and nature
Strength and struggles
Clinging to life, clinging to hope
A piece of bone or pottery
Long discarded
A long time ago
Washed smooth
A once jagged edge
Worn down by time
Resting in the sand
I don't know the situation I don't think I can
I don't know the situation
Yes it's way out of my hands
She walks around with a ring on her finger so she never thinks about me
Why should I let these feelings of her linger
She has become a woman of high society
I don't know the situation but her mansion sits upon a hill
And when I walk by her place of worship I hear the congregation
Singing songs about God's will
I pack my bags to leave and thinking ahead is not a plan
I don't know the situation
But the situation is more than I can stand
Blue magic in the night
Moonbeams dance with delight
Covers your face and your eyes are blue magic
Listen to the stream nearby
Moonbeams drift along and I
Look at you and sigh blue magic
So suddenly we feel a summer breeze
I pull you close to me
And lovely as you are with your spell of blue magic
The tinted clouds come and go
Your soft kiss touches my soul
So incredible to behold this blue magic
I can only just see his eyes over the mask
is he squinting? yeah its a death stare
I'm sure
and he could go for that highlighter pen any moment
I move a little uneasily but rotate my chair towards him
adjust my mask, showing no fear
we are now locked into this moment
I slowly reach for the stapler
never lose eye contact
tapping it on my thigh
I can see he's pondering the move
no way to up it easily
now he's fiddling with his phone
I have the edge
I wonder if we are still going to lunch :)
you can ride of the zest
of a smile, girl
if you want to
you can walk on the side
of the earth, girl
like I do
like a bird who can sing
but never will
like a tide that sleeps
but is never still
or a line from from a film
that won't be seen at all
I can see by the way
you sleep, girl
your a broke shoe
and when dawn meets your eyes
I'm up and gone
like morn dew
so go go to the place
where the sea meets the sand
dive into the time
and away from the land
you can turn it round
if you want to, don't you see?
