BETTER BELLY BUSS, THAN GOOD FOOD WAS’E

(A saying of ole by a wise old sage???)

Don’t throw the remains of good food,
Don’t even store it away.
Not when it tastes so very good;
It won’t last another day.
Even if you’re filled to the brim,
Be sure to make some space.
“Better belly buss, than good food was’e”;

Be careful of what you ask for...

God’s Wisdom is like nothing else that man has ever known and certainly His Brilliance, for us has set the tone.
Great is my angst and wonderment when after prayer
I wait, to see what my dear God decides should truly be my fate.

My God knows how to make a joke, and enjoys every bit
Of humour that He gets when He makes use of His great wit.
I asked for patience and I hoped that all would soon be well,
But lo! The challenges God sent made me feel I’d gone to hell.

Should I not know the tests He gives are how He answers prayer,
Yet how could I learn patience well, if not by trial and error?
I asked the Lord to bless me with more work to earn more pay.
For I had many things to buy, and to pay for everyday;
And once again He sent my way a chore to undertake –
The bounty that He blessed me with was not for my own sake.
For He wanted me to know that when He blesses me with same
It’s for me to share with others, and to glorify His name.

So when you pray and ask the Lord be careful what it’s for;
Don’t think He hasn’t heard your call, if troubles you endure.
And you wonder what He’s doing, when you’re faced with more distress -
Just be careful what you ask for, ‘cause there just might be a test.

About this poem:
God's own Will for us always supersedes what we want for ourselves, so we need to be mindful of that when we ask, and wait, for His response.??

Truth v Lies. (Yankee Challenge)

We see the lies in smoke filled skies
That fall down on Ukrain,
In frightened youth we see the truth,
They're tears are molten pain.

How deep the lies in Soviet eyes,
They know not truth or peace
For power and greed they pay no heed,
To cries of war to cease,

But in that zone they're not alone,
We've seen it all before,
The Nazies and the Serbs still have,
A lot to answer for.

How many more must die in war,
And rot in unmarked mud,
Before the warlords realise,
The cost is paid in blood.

As Shakespeare said from his death bed,
"To thine own self be true,"
You won't be false to any man,
Nor they be false to you."

Kill

I remember the easy life,
Pushing rocks uphill,
And how I made it this far?
Living in Hell,-
"Those are the streets where you cannot go"
Mommy told you to stand still,
"That man coming this way and pay heed to what I say"
Kill or be killed--

Into some of the darkest places,
Through cities corrupted by sins,
And why I was made this way?
Built to win,-
"When it's all over and all seems lost"
Mommy said to you wearing a grin,
"That man standing alone out there"
Kill and kill again--

I remember the harder life,
All at free will,
And what made me travel this way?
ha, Just for the thrill,-
"Such destruction he left in his wake"
Mommy pointed out with so much feel,
"His way of bringing peace and love"
Smile when you kill--

Burnout

Bu-bu-bu Burnout!
Burnin out, burn out, burnin out, burnout
Wa wa wa
Burnin out, burnout, burnin out, burnout
Wa wa wa
It's not just here, it all over the nation
Covid, Ukraine, and run away inflation
We wanted to party and get a little rest
But the workers had already headed out west
So the boss says yes
As for the rest of you
Let's all get to work and do the burnout!
Now I can't even think
And I can't even sleep
All of these hours got me feelin like a creep
But the homeless remind me it could be a lot worse
Even though, I still want to f@#$in curse
It just ain't fair
Well, look over there
Lots of other people doin the burnout!

Vlad To The Bone

On the day I was elected
The Russians gathered round
And they gazed at a wonder
at the joy they found
But the Ukrainian spoke up
Said leave this one alone
She could tell right away
That I was bad to the bone
Vlad to the bone
Bad to the bone
V-V-V-Vlad, V-V-V-Vlad
Vlad to the bone
I broke a thousand hearts
Before I met you
I break a thousand more honey
Before I am through
I want your country pretty baby
Yours and yours alone
I'm here to yell ya honey
That I'm Vlad to the bone

A little tune

And when your roaming
far, far from the center line
as everyone does
on the steep incline
from time to time
and its all falling like snow
falling like snow round and down
troubles run like the deer
out on the edge of town
I heard him sing,
"Don't let your days desert you
let not the hurt recruit you
it will all pass away, pass away
as those ancient days have come and gone
not for a sailor to silence
the mermaid's song
who am I, who am I, who am I
to know what makes paradise"

The Clouds

All alone and on your own,
Quest for love with a heart of stone,
Of all you've learned,
Still, what do you know?
The days glittering shades of light,
(quietly) oh, so warm--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds cloud our minds,
Too young for the love,
Too old for the lies--

You've climbed mountains and swam seas,
You've found peace through warfare,
Survived death, now live in prosperity,
What more could this life ask of me?
Ride hard and die free,
Ha, love is all you need--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds wondering by,
Too young to smile,
Too old to cry--

Perhaps now, everything is taking form,
Always the calmest before the storm,
You know too much,
Still, what do you know?
The days glittering shades of dark,
(quietly) oh, so cold--

And now we're here,
Dig, the clouds shatter and break,
Too young to give,
Too old to take--

About this poem:
I wrote this one 12-28-2021. I wrote and rewrote this in a few different ways just because I liked the stanza part (And now we're here, Dig...) Allow yourself to perceive what the song means on your own accord of thought.

THE SECOND THOUGHT

What is more boring than dying?
It’s a terrible waste of time:
lying there twiddling my eyebrows
or dreaming up words that might rhyme.

Why don’t I chant a ‘te deum’
or swear repenting remorse
or scream for succour or sanctum
or plead for a stay of sentence?

Perhaps the postman’s at the door
or my dead wife came back again
or once more it’s the brink of war
or women have turned into men.

It’s a BORE. I don’t even care
if I’ve seen my very last dawn!
WAIT: a decisive idea !!!
I'll get up and yawn my head off!

Farewell to the Wind

Well we bid farewell to the wind
that no virtues could appease
sailed from those darkened shores
in to the gentle breeze
was cast like Daniel
down deep, deep in the lion's den
no more want to call the tune
of mired faithless men
and as we rise, and rise
'neath the fiery southern sky
I say to you
my soul's companion
the mystics never lie
When we bid farewell to the wind
those dark, dark winds that freeze
I sailed with you my enduring angel
in to the gentle breeze
