After the disaster
my heartbreaks,
Simply struck
by a swan gliding
over Mirror Lake.
These are moments
I awake!
Surprising me passed
Time and Space.

About this poem:
The term aesthetic arrest was first used by James Joyce in his book A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. The philosopher, historian and theologian Joseph Campbell, also a Joyce scholar, explained aesthetic arrest as,"A simple beholding of the object... you experience a radiance. You are held in aesthetic arrest. This radiance, the perception of beauty, is regarded as a communication of the hidden power behind the world, shining through some physical form."

Phonaesthetically speaking

Phonaesthetically speaking its like 123
Like William once told us, its like A B C
So write your mystical thoughts
And clever words that rhyme
But make sure Iambic Pentameter
Doesn't go sadly out of time, again, ooops!

Yesterday's sorrow

Yesterday's Sorrow
Author:(lindsyjones)

sometimes I'm amazed
at how stale and stubborn
I have become
and even out of sync with time
but then since you left
I don't have any reason
to keep track of moment
that comes and goes
I din't even know
summer is gone
fall, too, is now buried
deep in the snow
somehow I am anticipating
the new birth of tomorrow
but here I am still nursing
in my yesterday's sorrow
I am never wishing
that our past would come back
.... no!
it's just that I wish
the wound heals
and my mind forgets
all these pains and heartaches
so I can rest in peace.

Nature

The Priceless Gift of Nature

Amidst the darkness we are going through
there is something that is constant in our hearts
that is the priceless beauty of nature
That is always within our sight

Let us give thanks to our Lord.
His Art is for us to Behold.

Amen

Lord forgive us

Lord you prayed
not for You to be spared
but to be strong
withstand the devil's temptation
You willingly took the beatings
of the cruel world
even as You revealed to them
Who you really were
The Messiah, the Son of God
and that the cross you carried
was for washing of our sins
brutal, vicious and wicked men
they never believed
nor listened
if...
I can carry that cross
as of now.. I can
I wouldn't hide
nor be afraid
only that I ask
is for You
to hold my hand
give me the strength
because
I can't do it without you

Amen.

I dedicate this to my children. For they believe.

A motorcycle poem

She stood there Eye wide open but not lit.
In a state of intensive care.
A hard 5 months later she was back riding in the wind with some hickups.
Kept her safe once she proved to me that this was for life.
Now She is in the best shape I ever seen her even though her last Heart operation that I supervised/did was in 1997. She has a good heart so I will keep her safe as long as I can. Shovelhead I love you and I'm thinking of painting you RED.

The Girl with sad brown eyes

Perhaps you saw me walking on the street with my head hanging down and you wondered why..perhaps you saw ne at my desk at work with my head hanging down and you wondered why..maybe you thought to yourself why such a beautiful lady is always looking down. If you only knew ...the beating last night was because I burnt his dinner...This morning it was because I forgot to iron his shirt. So next time you see me with my head hanging down..don't wonder . Speak to me words of encouargement and life..

Flowers

Flowers that wipe out our sorrows

Am I hallucinating?
Flowers of varied colors blooming
A testament of beauty that soothes the pain?
Maybe...
I would like to undo these dark thoughts in my mind
I would love to create a world that is of balance
Where there is dark so would there be light
Where there is hate, love must override
And so on..
Is there anyone here who would join me
And scrape off this morbidity?
Or am I all alone?
We are like drowning in the oceans of doom
It has to change, we have to be strong..
So let us go out and plant, I know we can
Flowers that soothes our sorrows and pain
Flowers that make our world see the light
We deserve it, I know we do...
Not just sadness and sorrow
I am all for it,
Are you?

A little bird

Caged in the house
Like a lonely princess
In the grim castle
I strain my ears to hear
“Knock, knock!”
Is he there yet?

Spring is going wild outside
Buzzing and blooming
A little bird
Keeps coming back
To knock on my window
And chirp

I do not know his language
But it sounds like
“Get out, stupid!”

EXRED

SITTING IN MY DECKCHAIR

Sitting in my deckchair
taking in the warming air
Birds were singing love songs
I wondered then at mans wrongs
No no my thoughts should stay
with nature and trees and not stray
Spring pairings and new babes
Flower's peeping up in new shades
Man does not deserve a thought
He has since his time began, always fought
I should teach him to sit in my deckchair
and take in the warming spring air
Teach him how to buzz like the bees
and bend and sway like the trees
I laugh at thoughts crossing my mind
One day men will learn and be kind
Giving Mother Nature's survival a thought
For shes the one that's struggled and fought
Since the beginning of time, but now needs a hand
Or the earth shall shrivel , turning all to yellow sand
