Probably just the usual sledgehammer to crack a nut reaction you get from governments these days, but on the other hand maybe they're using hi-tech radar to detect threats I mean you wouldn't want any harm to come to your President would you
Miguel, it's simply not true they wanted the story to fade away, they've in fact kept the story in the UK papers from day one till now, also raised huge sums to hire private investigators when they thought the police weren't doing a proper job, I haven't seen the Netflix story but it could well be they didn't want anything to do with it because it's not accurate
If bloggers can only have one blog visible how are we supposed to find/comment on another or do you propose blogs lasting a couple of hours & poof gone for ever
If you really want to know what's going on here you'll need several things
Firstly you'll need to be here 24/7, you can't sleep as you may miss something, the best stuff may only last a few minutes before being deleted Secondly you'll need either a photographic memory or a huge hard drive to store all the information, it's often the case that the obscure accusations you mention refer to something that happened weeks ago, despite the post sounding as though it just occurred, so you need to be able to reference back to the event Third & most important you need to be psychic & be able to read what was said in private mail, without that you'll be totally lost as these posts will never explain what was said
Alternatively of course you could just not worry about it
As Molly pointed out there are errors in the article, but that aside the article seems to indicate Northern I would be better off in a united Ireland, firstly the EU is on the verge of a recession, with even big hitter Germany at zero growth, all that before the UK leaves, secondly as the article points out the UK subsidises NI to the tune of £12billion a year, were it to be unified Ireland would need come up with that figure just to maintain it at current levels, that's £2522 for every man woman & child in Ireland, add to that the cost of a no deal Brexit on Ireland, estimates on that vary depending on who you listen to but is likely to be costly, so my question would be who would make up the shortfall, the EU, can't see that as without the UK's contribution they'll struggle without additional burdens, so Irish tax payers looks like the only source
In addition to the above the UK government is a big employer in NI, were NI to leave the UK all those government departments etc would be forced back on the mainland.
Saddens me to see what's become of the UK also angry that I have to share air with people like this This incident happened in Woodbrige, which was home to a USAF base & is now a British Army base, I have actually stayed on the base & thought at the time some of the locals were from a different planet.
These days virtually all tv series have aerial shots, what used to take days, bolting huge cameras under a helicopter etc, now takes a few minutes, everything has become so small, I had to laugh recently at a local event, we're used to the local TV station sending a cameraman, it was a huge thing resting on his shoulder, and he always looked relived to put it down, but at a reenactment they had an HD cam mounted on a tripod, still the same massive tripod they used for the old cameras but now the camera is so small you can barely see it.
Red, I agree but the problem is they have to go somewhere, and I can't see anyone else collecting our rubbish this problem is as unsolvable as the Irish backstop
Luke, I bet they all blame the Americans...........for inventing the internet the EU would have buried it given half a chance, having people able to criticise them is against EU policy
Luke, May was the UK home secretary before becoming PM, she made a lot of speeches back then about how tough she was on immigration, the figures showed a different story, then she made speeches about how no deal was better than a bad deal, her actions speak differently, she alsosaid she would stop ex servicemen being hounded, the facts say differently, far as I know (article about 2 weeks ago) they're still being hounded, I didn't title my other blog Treason May for no reason
Red, how old do I need to be to feel the cold (according to our centrally heated government) took the pension office 5 months to consider my pension application, which being 23 pages long is probably the time it took them to read it it was longer than the EU blog
Red, at least in conventional warfare it's the governments that should carry the can, they initiate war (on our behalf) therefore if it's not done as we want it we can replace them, blaming troops under fire is not imo the way forward and will lead to either the troops being shot as they dare not fire back, or an army with no soldiers as who in there mind would join a service where you could be hounded for the rest of your life, just for doing a job you're paid for I can't see a simple solution to drone warfare, whilst remote control attacks do cause civilian loss of life would sending in live troops save any lives or amount to more deaths
There have been a few developments since yesterday on Shamima Begum -
" members of the runaway schoolgirl’s local community have warned not to “trust her”, claiming that she could radicalise others. Moulana Abdul Malik, an iman at the Baitul Aman mosque near where Ms Begum grew up, said he supported the Home Secretary."
A petition on the government web site started last year (“ban all ISIS members from returning to the UK") and had enough support for a government response has now taken off & as of last night had over half a million votes so is now going to be debated in the house shortly.
Dee, "Why and how was It possible for a 15 year old to leave this country so easily and readily?? Why not hold yer head in shame that ye as a nation allowed that to happen so easily.....but now feign disgust that she wants back in."
The simple answer to that is the UK is a free country, the 3 girls left the UK on a holiday to Turkey, they'd left before the authorities were alerted to what they were doing, from Turkey they crossed the border into Syria, some others were stopped either in the UK or in Turkey, but the UK can not imo be held accountable for what people do on holidays abroad. I assure you the disgust isn't feigned.
RE: Blog mash up
As you've posed the question I would expect a ruling from the EU any day
