RE: Did we lose our Greatness?

Pat, you should be holding the conference with your logical, commonsense, approach to the female of the species .

RE: Struggling with panic attack disorder

Panic attacks are scary when they happen.
The important thing to remember is that they do not cause any harm. You will not die, even if you feel like you will.
Once you know you get them, then you should learn the triggers and either avoid them or learn how to deal with them.
Practice meditation and yogic breathing. Being able to control your breathing is the key to getting through a panic attack.

RE: The Great Gatsby

Never explain BD

It's either got or not got.

RE: Churches

I love old churches and graveyards, Har.
I've often spend hours wandering around old graveyards reading the fascinating epitaphs.

RE: Ferry this: Two women drowned in a Mercedes...

If it is the type of ferry I am thinking about, people always stay in their cars as it is just a short commute.
People use ferries like that to go to and from work daily.
Very occasionally there are incidents, but they are rare.

RE: Question?

The dating goes on behind the scenes.
The blogs are just a way of passing time.

RE: The reaction to and the significance of the current pandemic - genuine questions

If you have nothing of substance to say, some feel they may impress with quantity over quality.

RE: The reaction to and the significance of the current pandemic - genuine questions

I would say there are several elements to it.

The first being social media. Nobody likes to get paranoid quite as much as social media aficionados.

Secondly, it depends on the countries, their people and their media.
Here nobody is wearing masks, and certainly not shouting at anybody uh oh
When Mad Cow Disease was a problem about 20 years ago, the whole country got behind the safety measures to stop it spreading, because that was a real problem affecting the country's agricultural sector. We didn't shout at farmers then either.

We get regular updates, but medically-based and logical.
Many Chinese people who had gone to China (not even to Wuhan) and returned have put themselves under voluntary confinement and neighbours bring food etc to them, leaving it at the door for collection.

Finally, there is a political and financial motive for some countries to make China, its people, policies and products look evil and to be avoided. That reason can never be underestimated either.

RE: He's over the line on Twitter...

With rights come responsibilities.

RE: Epiphany

Fay, I've never had a DIY job big enough to necessitate marrying them laugh

RE: Epiphany

Have you ever considered contacting Gorilla Glue to become part of an advertising campaign for the product?laugh

Then, with the millions you'd be earning, you could afford to hire someone to do your repairs and not need their products anymore grin

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

It's bedtime here.
Nice to see you again, Crazy hug

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

Which part?laugh

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

Can you not drug him with painkillers, and go on top?

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

I thought you fancied older men laugh

Is the long-distance one still going on?

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

That's why you are here, Crazy.

Come back and cuddle them into oblivion grin

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

They'll have to find their love somewhere else laugh

RE: CS Anti- Valentine Party...

It's pretty dead on here, to be honest.

Most people look in, see 90% American politics on an international dating site, and leave again.

There are only a couple of blogs worth even reading now.

RE: When the Internet Goes Down

I like the idea of being offgrid/living in the woods than the actuality.

RE: Why does a woman sign off once i send them a message ?

Has it ever entered your head that although she may be interested in a serious relationship, that it may not be with you?

You choose who you are interested in sending messages to.
They can also choose who they wish to engage with.

RE: Haiku

Haikus can be fun
I'm not great at doing them though
Feverish or not.

RE: Building a hospital in 10 days...

They said they were going to build hospitals, but I'd say they are more containment units than anything.

RE: What does 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do' mean?

I gave you an example dunno

Basically, you follow the practices of those in the place that you are in.

If you are in a country where they don't want you to visit their holy sites with your shoulders and legs uncovered, you cover your shoulders and legs, out of respect.

If you go to a country where it is tradition to share your food with those around you, you share your food with those around you.

It is about being culturally-sensitive and embracing that culture

RE: What does 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do' mean?

I didn't realise that you just wanted google copy and paste answers laugh

Re. my example,
In France, French people eat good food in good restaurants. When there on a stay, one should eat French food as French people do. Not eat generic fast food available anywhere in the world.

RE: What does 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do' mean?

If you go to France on a holiday, you don't eat in a McDonalds.

RE: Splash Splash

I agree.
