Well here is what that same little area looks like today.
I am observing my peaches are almost ready for picking. As always it will be a race. The deer won't touch them until they are at perfection. Then they stand up on their hind legs and steal as many as they can reach. Even jumping to grab one up high now and then. So it is me or the deer. As soon as the green is almost gone..
Big news is while mowing I found more raspberries ready for picking. This time it is mostly Red Raspberries (although I saw a few Black Raspberries too). I know what I am doing tomorrow morning. :)
I will have to put my cats on guard duty soon to keep the deer and the Pacific tomato woman away from my tomato plants. Soon. Yes, I could fry them now, but I like them red too.
All in all a good day. I am still finding deer skulls hidden under the tall grass. Found 4 so far this month. Picked clean and white, so they are at least weeks old, but not old enough to begin to discolor or the teeth fall our. It is unusual. Normally I find one every one or two years. I am not good enough to tell if this is left over from winter when I had a problem, or is it newer then that. Could be why I haven't seen big herds this year, just small groups of 2 or 3. Noting also the now familiar pattern of a skull separated from anything else. No ribs or legs or spine seem to be nearby. Obviously dragged away by something.
Sands, good question. A Pentax WP digital pocket camera mounted on a full size camera tripod. Same with the two pistol videos. Camera saves it as an AVI file. Then I run MS Windows Movie Maker on that and trim off the scenes I don't want, and save it as a (smaller) WMV file and upload it to You Tube.
CH, have to pass on the alcohol me dear, but do you have any strawberry ice cream milk shakes? Even some icy milk with banana run through the blender would be perfect. That works for me today.
LoL, I remember that 'In the Navy' video. The Navy was not amused in the least and several folks lost their slots because they approved it being filmed. Admiral Zumwalt was freshly out of the Navy, but his howls about that video (he had spent a lot of time trying to reform Navy recruiting and change the image of the sailors, and the video in his opinion totally conveyed the wrong message, and how dare someone in the Navy allow a Navy ship to be the stage for something so defamatory, and who authorized those other sailors, yada, yada, etc.) were loudly heard in Washington and some naval officer's career heads rolled over that. Still, the rest of the planet loved the video and thought it was funny. Me too.
I am tempted to say we opened area 52 on Phobos, but no we aren't ready to do that yet. If 'the powers' wished the world to know, they would have publicized the new location. They didn't.
Note also, with the change in US laws regarding contractors and the military, it is not necessary for the new location to be an actual US Military Installation (i.e., reported to Congress annually), or even inside the territory of the US. Technically we could put it in Ireland and have it staffed by contractors (selected and supplied by the US) of RBS or Keen Nutrition and it would be decades before anyone figured it out.
Consider also if there is an area 51, may there not be also areas 1 through 50?
Area 51, an Air Force test base, also known as Groom Lake, is currently more or less closed down. Too many people knew about it. As noted, empty parking lots. There is a skeleton maintenance force for the generator plant and the airport, but that's about it. The shuttle bus no longer runs. It is still off limits to Trespassers, but many of the guard posts are no longer manned and some fences are down. Another new location has replaced this 60 year old research base.
Sorry the wrinkles are late. The manager of the wrinkle shipping department advises he is sending varicose veins as a bonus while your wrinkles are being prepared.
I would like them to delete the accounts of folks not here for more than 6 months. I know, they would shrink to one of the smallest dating sites then, but at least it would be honest.
It used to be legal in the US to send someone a virus if you didn't like them. Then Congress realized some of the military class viruses could be lethal to those near the computer and they passed laws against such things.
Tom Jones did a cameo appearance in the movie Mars Attacks. That was a decade ago I think, so add 10 years to that. LoL, at least he was still recognizable and singing in the movie, which is more than we can say for many stars of the sixties. :)
