RE: Two in a row

I will say this, Hartz makes a reflective, and break away, flea & tick collar for cats (supposedly 7 months effectiveness). When I had 3 cats, all 3 had one. Now that it is just two, I just put new reflective flea collars (the old ones were pushing their replace by date) on both of them.

I live well off the road (as the profile photo shows), but why not give them that little edge in case one night they get stupid or explore?

No I have never known them to get within 100 yards of the road, car noises seem to scare them, but I would certainly recommend reflective break away collars for anyone else who allows a cat out at dusk or later.

Yes, there exist sickos who will aim their car at a reflective collar at 2am, but most car drivers are decent humans and will swerve or slow down when something reflective suddenly darts across the road. You know it is someone's pet, and why make a blood enemy for life? So I always slow when I see a reflective collar on the road, and believe most sane folk will.

I have also found another benefit of the reflective collars. My cats like to play and be bad sometimes. So when I go outside at 9 or 10 to call them back inside, sometimes the hide behind logs or stumps in the woods, thinking I can't see them. I find a big Maglite flashlight evens things up a bit. Often I may see two little eyes reflecting back at me (without any motion, when I call) but sometimes the powerful flashlight hits the reflective collar, and it is like they have their own flashlight shining back at me. LoL, 'Moe, get in here, I see you.' "Herby, move your butt.' Sheepishly, when they realize I really do see them, they comply. I don't think they have figured how I am detecting them yet, but yes, the collar makes locating them in the dark woods much easier and saves me from stumbling among thorns in my flip flops in the dark.

An opinion for those in North America

That should be a maximum I think for both. 3 - 5% may be more beneficial. However I am sure you know both men and women whose bellies drop down 3 to 5 inches below their waist lines, with flubber levels approaching 30% or even more of their total body mass. This advice is for them. I fear a major change is coming.

Angel I sense multiple fronts with weather being merely one aspect.

An opinion for those in North America

LoL, Ekself - Darwin always rules..

You may be too young to have seen this American school days video, but I agree with the theme. I want to live to 103, pretty much whatever comes as long as my mind and body still wotk.

If I sleep, do you exist?

But the article is about neither topic. Just a physics experiment.

It is humans that add philosophical implications.

RE: Trouble With The Quack

Check also your hydration levels (i.e. drink more water) and b) your potassium levels (i.e., eat a banana). Shortages of both can cause cramps.

If I sleep, do you exist?

Clearly if we listen for it, it does. However, if I was writing the program for the Multiverses I would set forth a code specifying that if no living thing is there and no one watches for the sound with instruments, no need to waste resources creating one.

If I sleep, do you exist?

Ekself, I didn't author that news report. Credit goes to the website at the bottom of the page. My question about who exists when we don't think of them is just an outgrowth of the now proven observer effect.

If I sleep, do you exist?

Reality begins when someone thinks about it.

RE: do we run are life or does the sistem run it for u

Sometime in the next decade I will decide what I want to be when I grow up.

RE: Deaf Dog

visual hand signals. Used a lot with military attack dogs so it isn't new. Palm down for sit, etc. That said, foot stamp to get it's attention. Often it can feel that. Of course also, gentle touch, then the palm gesture needed for the situation.

RE: Latchkey child murders his family.

Here is one who hid for decades after killing his mom, his wife and his children. Such people are everywhere.

Belly freeze breakfast.

Because my ancestry is part Irish, and I grew up around a lot of Irish immigrants here in the US during the 'Troubles.'

RE: Memorial Day

McLee it is a B-26. He was B-26 from North Africa all the way up into Europe. I last saw and held that Mae West in 1993 when I sold his house. Looked like it still would work too. CO2 cartridge still in it. My big regret with hindsight was not grabbing the old plane recognition models (pricey now) and his old flight jacket rotting on a coat rack. Did get his service 1911 and some 50 rounds though. :)

RE: ¿Felíz?

Of course others sometimes consider truth to be rude. Who cares? God's Secret name is Truth, not Polite. Always speak truth and be blunt. Those who fear such things fear God's light too.

RE: Filter your tap water

Here is a tip for some of you Brita fans. Their filter cup contains only 1 small bag of activated charcoal. Reality is, you can buy larger bags of activated charcoal (with similar bag material) that fit with small effort, into the Brita capsule at your pet store in the fish supply section. You should be able to buy about ten fish tank filter bags of activated charcoal for about the same price as one brand new Brita filter capsule.

Also remember your change dates, Brita's 20 day change is close to max (and I think 10 days is smarter). Algae can and will eventually start growing inside the damp filter.

Don't tell Brita you know these things. laugh

RE: Would you buy this house...?

Since there is no such thing as a ghost, why not?

Belly freeze breakfast.

Find my stomach can't handle spicy stuff yet. Boston Market meals, White Castle burgers, good bland junk food. :)

It's a truck horn I think, not a trumpet.

Fractals and Daesh

Exactly, it spreads. And will keep on spreading if a different approach is not taken.

RE: How?

Manipulator. Just say no and walk away.

Avoid Waco, Texas this week.

Thank you. Closing this blog as the media has begun to move the story into weird directions and agendas not related to the original event.

RE: Alien Invasion in Cork.

I am sure the authorities searched all the travel records to prove the lie. Of course they found nothing. But such mysteries are not for patrolmen to worry about, so the kids paid for one to fly back and that was that. Except for the UFO community of course. General consensus amongst those hearing the story is do not plink at the UFO with your little squirrel gun.

RE: An Uninterruptible Water Supply

That's not bad. I fill the second bathtub with water. Serves two functions. Emergency gray water supply in the event of a power outage. Second the cats have already shown me they know it is water and by standing on their hind legs easily drink from it.

I figure if I go out and sudden heart attack or car crash, at least the boys got several days (weeks?) of water.

RE: Filter your tap water

It depends on where you are, how populated, what is in the water, etc. Clearly if the local govt is adding Chlorine to it, they found a problem or think one may come someday. Do you like the smell of Chlorine? How often does that govt. change or clean the reservoir filters? Some towns where fracking was allowed now have flammable water that kills their pet fish and any plants they put it on. Moving is their best option. Do you have a well, and also neighbors dumping kerosene or motor oil on their land? Did you know in areas with septic systems, all sorts of medications leach into nearby wells? In such cases, use the best filter systems you can, and change them out often.

Avoid Waco, Texas this week.

CNN is reporting the 170 arrested had over 1.000 firearms concealed on them.
