RE: Guys! Do we really know what we want from a woman?

I gather from OP some men are having problems finding women?

Versus having many female friends?

That's a shame. Such men should work on their attitudes and how they project themselves. Less crude humor and more 'how can I help you, sister?' (even when there is no relationship) would probably stand those second rate men much better than do their current approaches to life.

RE: "WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE"

I had a Mynah bird once. His favorite past time was to wait until we were in the front of the house, then mimic the sound of the ringing telephone in the back of the house. laugh

Those were the days when AT&T dominated and only one phone per house was allowed without paying a surcharge.

Thinking about it, since the bird never made the noise when we were near the phone, and that he was the culprit behind the phones that always rang but always stopped after only a few rings (discovered wholly by accident when he was caught in the act one day when my father moved faster through the house than the bird thought he could), this too (besides some other stuff) was evidence that behind those feathers lay an always scheming crafty brain. He would spend hours and hours whittling his bill on a branch until it was translucent sharp. My cat and I watched our Dracula (this was his name and it was an apt name) with amazement one day when Dracula caught a rat and dissected it while still alive, before eating the best parts. Herbivore my butt! Mynah birds are not nice and gentlest people. Do they have Mynah birds on Pluto? Beware the planet if they do. professor

RE: "WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE"

I think I will pass. I intend to be here for the 'end times' and will probably both survive it and make video DVDs to sell of it. Also all of my pets trust me implicitly and the idea of abandoning all but one is not acceptable to me. Besides, since you aren't including any, I would suggest bringing a few of my turkey (who seem to have inexplicably vanished as predicted, since today is the 23 and they legal to shoot today) and maybe a deer or 10. Tell you what, have the plutonians send a cargo ship. I will load some stuff into it. I won't go, but will happily load the ship with turkey and deer and even some coyote for the Plutonian folk to meet.

RE: The cure for religion,

This is so old an idea. All it did for the Romans when they tried it was to create secret communications. Doors with a fish sign on them for members of the 'forbidden' non-Holy Roman Catholic varieties of Christianity, etc.

Actually I would be in favor of simply selling the land the churches are on and putting up apartments. You could get a very nice High Rise building on the land Notre Dame sits on. And although the Vatican City is small, I am sure we could cram a new, fairly decent, chrome plated mega shopping mall into that space.

Western Digital's hard drive encryption is useless

Like I wrote, there are a few Hollywood types using it, some Top 10 singers too. Several stores in Beverly Hills have the scanners. There is no electricity in the credit card implants, so it would be hard to electrocute someone with one. laugh

Western Digital's hard drive encryption is useless

I think the implanted chip is dumb. I know some of the Hollywood folk have had it done but their convenience is just a theft waiting to happen. The concept is you wave your wrist at a scanner and it senses and reads your implant, then charges your credit account. The obvious downside is anyone can have a scanner and you may not notice it while walking by.

A second downside is if it has steel in it, we can probably make it red hot with microwaves of a frequency/power level the user may not even notice until suddenly their arm starts smoking and they drop to the floor screaming.

I have some WD Passport devices myself. I never turned the encryption on in them because they aren't holding anything sensitive, but I am sure, since encrypt is a built in option, that is not true of everyone. Now if they read this they at least know they weren't as secure as they thought.

Western Digital's hard drive encryption is useless

I would expect WD is scrambling today so that next month's products have improved encryptions. rolling on the floor laughing

Pay no attention to the CIA psyops agents above. They are merely trying to block you from spreading the truths you have learned. We look forward to the next chapter. :)

Building a country girl

Oh yeah, $600 a day for 4 weeks. Definitely worth going. T'was like a combination of Day of the Triffilds and Walking Dead. A great educational post apocalypse vacation. I observed to the max how little anyone can be prepared for something like that.

I had hoped you liked the video. I like to burst a gut when he confessed to keeping a 1911 in his truck.

MicLee - You touch on a sore point of mine. Those compiling those stats often tweak them to exclude the more dangerous countries with the excuse, oh those aren't really civilized countries, or they are having a civil war, so we can't count them anymore. Compile a true list and include the countries they exclude and the US plummets way down on the list. :)

Also it can be argued that because America has so many ethnic groups always arriving and struggling for their place on the ladder, America has been in a quiet but constant state of not yet resolved urban civil war for many decades and therefore it should also be totally left off their lists. They don't like that. laugh

RE: Does this thing called 'real/true love' still exis

If I could populate a town with whoever, there are about a dozen CS folk out of the thousands who I would love to see in that town. I would love to have lunches and relationships with several of them and believe a future would be possible with this one and that one. Sadly most of them are on the other side of the planet from me. Such is the reality of CS. wine

RE: SHOUT SHOUT LET IT ALL OUT----ONLY POSITIVE

Does not believing in the very concept of blasphemy require a belief in a God? If one does not believe in such, then one can not believe anything is a blasphemy. Only a believer can detect what they believe to be a blasphemy, the others just speak words.

There are some who still believe the Earth is flat. To them what I perceive as truth is blasphemy. Oh well. I lose no sleep over that.

Beyond that, I have no comment.

Anything can. Glocks do too.

Building a country girl

COgreece, here we believe a woman should know how to protect herself without needing some guy to do it for her. Horseback riding and fishing are nice fun activities, But being a 'country girl' also means being quite capable of handling the serious things all by yourself, regardless of whether it is changing a flat tire on a cold rainy night by the light of a flashlight, fixing a leaky water faucet, or terminating a snake.

Luckyman, Although I have a dozen or so semis, and have carried a Glock several times in one job or another, I am not that enamored of them. If being in China you actually have one and love it, power to you. I will say, comic books to the contrary, they aren't all that great, least of all for every day carry. Sure many agencies issue one and order their people to carry that, but it is because Glock sells them to the agencies at a cheap price, not because it is the weapon the individuals would select.

In any case I suspect she will ultimately settle on a Ruger LCR as her carry pistol. Small but potent revolvers have many advantages over the semi-autos when you speak in terms of something that can be loaded, carried or stored every day and still be instantly ready 10 or 20 years later. The lightweight plastic of the LCR frame gives the best of both worlds. The low maintenance and utter reliability of a revolver and the light weight of plastic. Available with laser sights and in calibers from .22 LR through .357 magnum.

As she practices, I expect her groups to tighten and i may move her back to 25 yards in a few weeks.

RE: The Cat

Older Mom's get like that. laugh

I can't imagine a scenario where my cats don't wish to go outside. The only exception is when they smell coyote scent. Then I would need an armored bulldozer to get them out. Other than that they will happily stay out 24/7 (except in below zero temps or when it is raining) and wish me to bring their food outside to them instead of them have to come in to eat. laugh

Oh durn, I was afraid of that, and did try to prev

Well I went someplace rural in another state yesterday and I observed that State also has 'turkeys gone wild.' So it isn't just me they are bothering. Further down the road we passed one laying squished in the road who had obviously erroneously believed the car or truck would stop for them. Interesting these have darker plumage than the ones in my own yard.

RE: Yeah,....it is fall break from the university

Interesting and confirmed, some Universities do take a break in October. In this area most opt to postpone the recess until Thanksgiving week. I have a friend who (thanks to an accelerated program) has both classes and tests every day this week at her own school.

The US Army sometimes co-exists with the US Marine Corps. Sometimes they enjoy it, sometimes they squabble.

RE: First Date Questions Men Really Want To Ask

So today I asked one, 'so including the time you eloped as a young teenager, which you never mentioned to the man you last married, you have then been married a total of 3 times?'

Of course this was a 4th date, so I guess that question doesn't belong here.

Happygo - The only thing I intentionally feed here are my cats. Everything else is 100% wild. They let me get close because they see me every day and most of the year I seem to be totally harmless.

RE: ~~ Women are certainly more courageous ~~

Actually in the Western world both men and women tend to strike off on their own and go hundreds of miles so they are far away from their family.

It is the weak baby bird who tries to stay in the nest. In the end the mother flies away and the weakling starves.
