RE: very close to reality.....

I think it is a Bollywood thing.

RE: danger w/ beauty

It has been a long time since we have had any vampires in this county. Is there an acceptable substitute for the wine glass? Does zombie blood contain the same stuff?

RE: danger w/ beauty

This is old advice.

RE: Now Merkel says: We can only help the refugees.

I was talking it over, and after looking at the benefits cersus continuing to work for our meals my friend and I may soon fly to Greece, or Germany and represent ourselves as Syrians. At my advanced age the free medical care, free roof and free food has a certain attractiveness to it. beer

RE: Chasing Shadows

Yes, sometimes we get maudlin and take the skulls of our former girlfriends out of the closet, and talk with them about their mistakes and why they had to be brought to a better place where they wouldn't be able to sin anymore, while I tap away in email with the potential next girlfriend. Sometimes the skulls whisper that they are jealous of these new women on the Internet, but I tell them not to worry, once the woman is here they will see she is good. After all, if she isn't, there is plenty of room on the closet shelf. laugh uh oh laugh

RE: Celibacy...Fighting Temptation

Mideast or not, you have internet. Just go to adameve.com or the adulttoyshop.com and order one of their toys. Problem solved.

RE: True nd Honest

Just live with them for 50 years. Then you will know.

RE: Death

4 in 6 months is a high rate. Hopefully it will be years before the next one. Yes, cherish every moment of contact because we never know when it ends.

RE: Work more or less?

Hmmm I haven't worked since last year. Getting bored now so I may do so again for a few months.

RE: Refugees or not

A difference between me and Merkel is when I do make a mistake, I try hard not to do so as publicly as she does. laugh

RE: Refugees or not

"the whole European Nation."

There is no such thing. Europe is a continent, not a nation. No disrespect intended, but one would expect a college professor to know that. laugh

A woman named Merkel comes to mind. laugh

Seriously, if you want a lot of them to make a you turn, just change the laws regarding the benefits and limit most benefits after October 1 to the natural born citizens of the country or those already receiving the benefits. That will very quickly inspire those seeking only economic gain but still not there to leave or pick another country with greater benefits.

Hello UK & Canada wave

But you guys have that option too. professor

"But for me, when I know where I am going, I will walk the path with all my heart"

Ah, there you have the advantage over me. You knew your path. Since my wife died I lost direction and still haven't decided what I wish to be when I grow up. So I commit to no path yet.

Hoping you heal soon. hug

kaetchenvonhn - I think Germany's crisis is easy to solve. Just eliminate the welfare. Or at least cut them so native born citizens receive one amount, but those who are not, receive much less. There exists no reason to imagine a non-citizen is entitled to the same benefits of taxation as a citizen. You cut the benefits and they will pick a new destination. If other countries have the guts to do the same, only the true war refugees will come.

My second complaint about the Germans and Hungarians whining about this is the almost total absence of anti-refugee demonstrations. Where are the hordes of native born Germans besieging their Presidential offices? Where are the mobs helping the police battle the refugees? I see none. No mobs of wall to wall people clogging streets while carrying no-refugee signs. The most I see on television is a few dozen here or there and they seem to be more interested in burning trash cans than doing anything effective.

On the day we had the riots at Ft. Chaffee the first State Police on the scene went to the towns folk outside the base and asked the constable and the preacher to send some help. A few hours later dozens of local farmers and factory workers from Fort Smith had showed up with their shotguns and rifles on the roads surrounding the base and when the refugee rioters tried to flee the base the good people of the town joined the State police in shooting them down dead. A few dozen dead with another few dozen laying down bleeding out and the Cuban and Haitian refugees were much better behaved after that.

That tells me the bulk of the German or Hungarian folks simply don't care how the refugees behave in their country, or how many come, and only a vocal few do.

Rule 4 BROKEN.

RE: Feeling safe

When even the lower politicians and government officials need guards, then the society has serious problems. In America for many decades of my life we could meet with our Congressmen and Senators fairly easily. Sometime in the mid nineties the instability had become such appointments scheduled weeks in advance became necessary for many. Sure Governors and big city Mayors got a police body guard but the Legislators and Councilmen normally didn't. All this began to change when a crazy guy walked up behind Congresswoman Gifford as she chatted with shoppers at a shopping mall and put a bullet in the back of her head. Now our Congress persons and Senators usually have a few plain clothes Capital Police traveling with them. More and more states are also establishing protection details for Legislators.

When I was a little boy traveling through South America my mom used to point to the police carrying sub machine guns, or blocking the streets off near their Presidential Palace and say, see this is why we call them Banana Boat countries. Unstable governments maintained only with machine guns. Our police don't need or have those, and any person can walk into our White House and take a tour and maybe even meet with or talk with our President. <LoL, that was before the paranoia of Nixon.> These days almost every single American police department has a few machine guns (and armored vehicles too) and at any major event in Washington, DC or New York it isn't unusual to see a few policemen standing around with a sub-machine gun (or the AR equivalent). Indeed tours at the White House are no longer an automatic thing. Gone are the days when anyone could go there and just say I would like to take a tour and be told that line over there, next tour in 15 minutes. Now you have to buy tickets and go through a screening, show ID, metal detectors, maybe a brief interview if the name on your ID attracts a computers interest. It used to be, no one cared who you were, you just took the tour while a cute 18 - 20 year old intern led it around and told you what each room was for.

Just like long ago in those South American Banana Boat countries the streets around our Presidential Palace are now mostly blocked off and if you look around (but don't stand there too long or they will take you in for questioning) you may see some of the Palace guards carrying their little machine guns with them.

The change is so sad. Even sadder is how few realize the implications of the change.

RE: " CHANGING OF THE SEASON"

Fell to 42 F last night here. Fall is here.

RE: He said

Now it becomes a question of do you tell the electronic person, do you pretend it isn't going on and keep leading them down a dead end trail, do you just disappear from their screen with no explanation ever offered and leaving them with no knowldege of are you even still alive?

Give your man some credit. At least he told you. Way too often on CS I hear about folks who e-date for months and years without meeting before one learns 'oh I married so and so 3 months ago, didn't I mention that? No, I won't be meeting you at the airport.'

The other thing I read a lot of here, is I had a really nice relationship with so and so. We exchanged a thousand emails, we went on skype together, talked for hours on the phone, laughed and cried together, we talked of meeting and marriage, and one day I suddenly realized they hadn't emailed me. So I texted them without any reply and when I called their phone number it was no longer in service. I don't what happened to them, I am so worried for them, my heart is breaking. Why won't they communicate with me? What'd I do wrong? Answer: Nothing except, you forgot you were in competition with the non-electronic world and your favorite person is both less than honorable and a coward as well so they are just leaving you in the dark.

So I give your guy some credit compared to his other two choices. Yes, he kept you unaware of the situation for two months before finally manning up and telling you the truth. But note he had other choices. He could have lied with a perpetual string of excuses as to why he wasn't flying there this month and maybe kept you dangling for years before learning the truth. Or, he could have simply blocked your emails and texts unfriended you on Facebook without warning and changed his phone number and never would you have known if he was alive or dead, or what you did wrong.

RE: Betrayal

A better question is the why they did it. What is wrong with them and how you can better spot the flaws before selecting the next one.

RE: BEE STINGS!!!

Viking LoL, yep, bet that worked. I gave a snake at my feet both barrels of a Stevens 12 gauge once. Big smoldering hole in the ground. No more snake for sure. Never thought of trying that on wasps. laugh

RE: BEE STINGS!!!

Well Calamine lotion is what we use. Benadryl bee sting ointment also helps.

If they are in the ground and you know where, just lay a garden hose down there and turn it on. Let it soak the place for a day or 3. That usually works.

Unless they are under a flat rock or log or board, then the queen has shelter. If you don't get the queen, you got nothing. You'll know her if you see her. She will be about 4 times the size of the others and not really able to fly due to the big belly.

Another good trick, if you can spot the exit hole is soak it with Wasp spray. I usually bring 2 or 4 cans with me for such tasks. They will try to escape and you may find a second hole that needs soaking.

Viking, that's not new. Meth and synthetic heroin makers (including the young ones) have been buying chemicals off the Internet since the 1990s when the WWW first opened.
