RE: Puffy ankles

Try jogging 3 miles a day. That should help.

RE: Enjoying life

Sadly, I am too far away. But we do have Connecticut users on here. Even a few New Yorkers who may drive an hour for such a meet.

RE: Does It Really Happen In Threes?

Human history is full of tales of cats that come home after extended absences (I think the record is 15 years later), or travel incredible distances to find 'lost' owners who moved away and left them behind. I am glad your cat survived his adventure and also glad being thin and a torn ear were his only mishaps.

PS give him a bath with a good cat shampoo and brush him down. He will appreciate it.

PPS Cat doors are a problem in this area. Other critters too, from snakes to baby bears have been known to use them, so I don't have one.

A 'Day' in my life.

CH I will zap the duplicates for you.

You can buy a DR Field & Brush mower here.

I see the low-wnd model is on sale for only $1,999.99 today.

My model is %3,099.

Their new top of the line one is $3,599.

I have two of them. The one in the video and an older model which has no reverse. I like the reverse capability on the newer ones. Sometimes you really don't want to mow down the bush with that hornet nest right in front of you. laugh

They are great machines with quick change front ends attachments that allow snow throwing, plowing, finishing cuts, and even a stump grinder.

A 'Day' in my life.

Usha, I make no pretense about what I be, or who I am. Smoking cigarettes is something I have half a century of experience at. I believe it is my worse vice.

Luke, I work very hard at keeping everything in my life boring, or at least my definition of boring. laugh

Footnote, just finishing an hour of sunbathing outside. The weather forecast of 100 in this area is probably correct. A very strong sun this afternoon. Hard to believe it was pouring rain at 10 this morning. I am inside and cooling down now. I will let the sun sink a little lower before exploring areas to be further mowed or filmed.

A 'Day' in my life.

beautifulyou - I figured out how and hope you like that better.. :)

A 'Day' in my life.

beautifulyou - That's a good, useful, feedback. Youtube offered really horrid choices of 4 images from the videos as the image presented. I mean out of focus shots, shots of sky, an image of a tree, etc., so I just instead picked soome jpg images I had of something shown or flashed on in the videos. I will go to youtube manage and see if there is a way to change the video image tag without having to redo everything.

loveallnite - Used tires are sold in the US as re-treads. Some last a long time, some go flat within a month. Over the decades most common in my observation is they start to peel or lose the re-tread. Sidewall patching is an emergency thing. I have done it twice and tried to keep it under 30 MPH going home from where the repair is made. In both cases I succeeded and the patch held long enough for me to acquire a new tire and mount it.

RE: The F-Word Again

SNAFU

A military & government term. An abbreviation using the F word. I have even seen S.N.A.F.U. on official reports now and then. laugh

RE: "ON THE ROAD AGAIN"..(5)

I think the guys that trim trees from the power lines probably have one of the most dangerous road side jobs. Often their signs are too few and too many vehicles haven't even started to slow down before they are right on top of crew. Just an opinion, but I totally concur, slow down and move to the next lane.

RE: The new Star Wars trailer is pretty cool.

That's a good point on the cloaking. Much better to have your spaceship just look like an old rock or something than to waste time trying to be invisible across the entire light spectrum.

RE: How It Is Done

I try not to do well done. I like seeing the pink. Blood is tasty. Yum, yum. My cats prefer the venison raw, but I like it singed a little. I had thick cut venison steaks last night. Tricky to get right in my skillet, but I cot them done just right. Seasoned with pepper and paprika of course. Macaroni and cheese on the side. No greens. Too lazy. Fruit juice instead.

RE: Word of the Day

I have a plethora of deer.

My cats and I

Elegsabiff - No, that's just a roll of paper towels. In case I get a runny nose or suddenly have to sneeze because of cat fur up my nose. I find that arrangement handier than a box of kleenex on a nightstand.

RE: Eat Or Be Eaten

Previously mentioned by me is that weird sub continent cult of humans that keeps dying off of starvation when they decide to not kill anything by eating. Somehow they view their own cells lives as being less important than a good banana, or a steak or pork chop.

I long ago, after watching deer destroy one of my crops realized if it steals my food and hides it inside their belly, then they are volunteering to become my food. And they did and are. Fair is fair.

RE: Water, I have a drip.

Risk their wrath, but blame the wine growers. They waste much water with open ditch irrigation.

I did it again

Well a lot of yesterday was spent cutting 3 torn T shirts into little 2 inch squares. But two coffee cans full of them later, I finally felt I had enough to proceed. laugh

This is not one of the dropped videos, but I decided to make it anyway as long as I was out there doing stuff. First filmed yesterday I did not catch the tripod was sitting too low until after the video was made.

Here I discovered the tripod issue and fixed it.

The Webley MK VI .455 was adapted by the British in 1915 and remained in service as a limited standard item through the 1970s.

America however was trying to move in a different direction in WW I.

Worth adding I think. The 1911 and 1911a1 (minor cosmetic changes in 1922) served as the official primary US Military sidearm of all services from 1911 through 1984. Although dropped as the official Service pistol in 84, Special Operations units continued to prefer it as did the US Marines once they had a chance to compare the 'new' 9mm's effectiveness on enemy troops and experienced malfunctions of the 9mm. In fact this year the USMC officially re-adopted the Colt .45 pistol as their new service pistol and are phasing out their M9 Berettas. The US Army and the US Air Force have also stated they too will be phasing out their M9 pistols and have announced a solicitation for alternative pistol types. At the same time the US military has announced that as the US is not a signatory to the 1899 Hague Convention barring expanding ammunition, such use by US forces is permitted when the US deems it appropriate.

But of course, like every country, WW I caught the US by surprise and we were not prepared for it.

So it has been fun making these. I am learning as I go about shooting video with a pocket camera. I do wish my little waterproof pocket camera had zone focus, and image stabilization, but I guess there is a limit to what one can fit into a 3 inch x 2 inch x 1/2 inch camera.

A noticeable limitation on making videos with a pocket digital camera is battery life. I am noticing filming a minute of video saps more battery power than taking 100 photos.

Luke, are you done playing with MY .45 yet? laugh

RE: Annoyed!

LoL, did someone send you an 'inconsequential'? We all get them.

RE: wondering ..

I thought this website was for senior citizens? laugh

RE: stealing a nation..

Ian, the US doesn't invade Russia because we watched two other folks make that mistake. Old Nappy and the toothbrush mustache guy. The winter there is a powerful weapon. So are the spring muds. Add a salt Earth policy as they fall back and the logistics of it are staggering. I am not saying a few sneak attacks by Spec Ops folk weren't in the Cold War plans (much as their Spetznaz had it's own Spec Ops targets to take out the evening before the missiles flew), but in terms of invading after the missiles flew, that was never in our plans.

LoL, it still isn't.

I did it again

We are circling the airport right now. I am out of cleaning patches. Thought I had another box of them, but can't find it so I am deciding which T-shirts have passed their time..

RE: stealing a nation..

Humanity is by nature nomadic. The migration is being driven as much by expansion of the Sahara and loss of agriculture and economics as it is by strife. Certainly the refugees once someplace safe and off the boat look for the new home in the country that offers the most in welfare benefits. If the UK truly wanted to be refugee free, all it has to do is totally stop all social program benefits. Then no one would want to go there. As our Captain John Smith said during our Jamestown days, those who don't work, don't eat. <Acknowledged he was justifying a mass murder of the nobility class that had arrived with his colony, but it is the attitude England needs to develop if the UK (and other European countries) wish to survive.>

I did it again

Elegsabiff - Thanks. I thought about it, then said why not? I can't Skype, but I can put videos out there, that I can do. I am learning I am camera shy and nervous in front of my own camera. I never knew that about myself. Then the problem became what kind of video? Me playing with the cat? Some do do that on You Tube, but generally, who watches those? Boring. So I figured why not a bunch of 1 or 2 minute videos about some of my safe queens? Hopefully these are more interesting than a video of me riding a tractor in a circle.

RE: "ON THE ROAD AGAIN"..(3)

It is better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6.

Worse I think than a spider, is an angry hornet in the truck (or more than 1).

I notice you don't speak of CB channel 19a or lot lizards. Are they still around and abundant?

So another color beckons me

CH, putting some berries on your cheesecake might be fun. Come on by and we will experiment. laugh

Okay, this may confuse and sorry about that. The plant on the bottom with the red berries. That is NOT red raspberries. Those red berries are immature Black Raspberries.

The plant on top with the lighter green (and more rounded) leaves those IS a Red raspberry plant. With practice you can tell them at a glance as when mature one will have black raspberries and the other one will have red raspberries. laugh

aisha00 - Australia has poison berries that look like raspberries?

RE: A TIME FOR A ROLL CALL...

Tomato Girl is watching from afar. So is Kasih. I can never really tell about she who Just Falls because she is so ephemeral. :)

RE: Health is a everlasting topic.

Would not a can of pear nectar taste the same?

So another color beckons me

That's okay. There is a solid sea of them as far as the eye can see in that jungle.

No way to get them all 'raspberry girl.' Feel free, dig in. Race the deer and the turkey and the fox and the possum and the other birds and critters. I already got more than enough for my cereal this morning. laugh dancing

RE: Relationship

Younger men should prove their affections for older women are real and pure by cutting off some toes or an ear as proof of love. Only then can they attract the older woman's attention. Send her video of the chopping act so she knows your love is true.

RE: Health is a everlasting topic.

There's nothing wrong with lamb. But I am curious about Pear tea. Never heard of it.
