The purpose of an army/navy et al is to both defend your country from invaders and also accomplish National objectives as determined by the leaders. In Russia, China, England and many other places the common folk have very little say in who those leaders are. At least in the US there is some say. History records he took this advice seriously and with his companion Miriam and a handful of followers he headed off to India. [Thomas later went on to form his own church in India before an angry king had him pierced with arrows after he dallied too often with one of the King's wives. In the time of Constantine the Church founded by Constantine was declared to be Christian.] Yazaraf is today buried in the tomb known as Roza Bal. Today is the anniversary of his death.. I spent some time at his grave today. I miss him a lot.
My remaining cat Herby has really quieted down from his behavior while Moe was alive. He misses Moe I can see that. Herby is scared. Every other animal he ever knew has died, several did so in his presence. Even the fish who I expected to go another 40 years at least died this summer. Herby just lays quietly. He won't jump up on things like Moe used to. Herby doesn't explore, doesn't open boxes, etc. Gosh I miss the feel of Moe climbing up my back to perch on my shoulder. I miss my friend.
