Maybe a better question is, what are the strengths that allow you stay single in spite of all the societal pressure to conform and merge with another?

RE: Oh Sheeeet! Not again

Kal, what's up with those strange looking deer you had penned up at the rice farm the other day? My satellite camera doesn't show them there anymore. Did you eat them?

Most of us just delete unread any mail we get from faceless people.. Indeed I just delete a lot of mail from folks with faces too. Those I wish to communicate with know who they are, those I don't will figure it out when their second email comes back as blocked. Welcome to the internet.

RE: ~~ THE WORD AND LOGAS ~~11

Does the bell really make a noise, or do we just think it does?

Does the bell even exist, or is that too in our mind?

For that matter, do we really exist, or are we just part of a dream?

Actually it is all true. All of it.

RE: NASA Hacker Claims USA Has War Ships In Space...

Well his is not the first leak. Some prior leaks of the truth were the basis for a movie and a TV series. Men In Black, and Stargate of course. Actually the fleet is more than just 25 ships. Much more. Far far away our heroic Starship Troopers battle giant spider like aliens daily. The goai of these arachanoids is to eat us, so no negotiated peace is possible.. Yes, we have had some setbacks, but those who claim we are losing are wrong. The loss of the human colony on Proximi Centauri was a setback, as was the capture of two of our ships in orbit there containing star maps pointing the way here. However, our new allies the Kzin have promised to help us in the war. Being related (somehow) to human felines they do have better technology than us and are very fierce fighters. It is still quite possible we will defeat the spiders and after that we will learn what it is the cats want in return.

A smart website owner would insist you mention his site favorably in the book. Perhaps offering you a years supply of free email if you do.

It is good for the doctors. They won't have to try too hard to keep you alive and they can earn money selling the parts.

RE: Online Dating: Risky, Dangerous, and Deadly...

That is a very good point. He figures prominently in this case as it is he who discovered, and reported, that she was 'missing' when he (allegedly) visited her home to drop off their 3 children who had been visiting him. Since we do not yet have a scene of the crime, or a confession, the ex-husband remains a possible suspect.

RE: Dating someone who has children

If they have kids and their dad is still alive you also got to deal with him and the repeated opportunities for an indidelity when she goes to his house to pick up the kids from their visit or want an increase in support payments. Been there, experienced that. Find a single women. moping

RE: Time Travel, Mars Colony and Political Control of

Steven Kings "11/22/63" is a good read. He got Oswald right, no question.

Trgarding the Mars bases, the problem is while they are US bases, the soldiers there aren't from our US, nor even from our Earth. They are from one of the future America's. Our military forces know about them and have even touched bases (no pun intended) with them, but their America is different and they have a different agenda. The Pentagon has been warned to stand down and just do nothing. They will handle the invasion fleet that is coming for us. You may see strange flashes in the night sky in the vicinity of Jupiter over the next few months. Thst will be them destroying the incoming space fleet while it is vulnerable during deacceleration.

In their time/space the alien invasion of 2016 devestated their Earth and it took almost 100 years of hard fighting to defeat the invaders. Then another 100 years to put together a new society and restore an industrial base incorporating the captured technology.

In 2309 a congruity in space time caused by the alien warpfields that powered their ships allowed more invaders to bleed into their world from ours through an open wormhole. It took a lot of effort to close that wormhole. Before doing so the future Earth sent the soldiers and war ships back in time to our Mars. They will ambush and destroy the approaching armada for us.

They do not do this out of benevolence. Rather instead, by defeating the invasion in this time line they hope to prevent both the bleed over invasion of 2309 as well as possible future invasions when the congurity reopens again in 2383. Since their technology and weaponry is so much more advanced than ours both the White House, Beijing nd Moscow have decided the smart thing to do is nothing and accept the gift of a protective military force.

RE: Lets sort this out for once and for all.

It is obviously importnt to the OP. Also very weird that folks are talking to him about something so trivial compared to Daesh using poison gas, Australiaa;s economy, etc.

Truth is, dentists love encouraging folks to have their wisdom teeth removed so they can bill their patients for the often needless procedure. They also usually neglect to warn their patients that the teeth are very tightly compacted in the jaw and the removal of one tooth at the rear permits the other teeth to begin to shift position and spread out.

This lack of notification is intentionally self serving on the part of the dentist and ultimately the source of much income fitting dentures. As pressure being relieved allows the teeth to shift position the roots grasp on the upper jawbone loosens for all of the teeth. In time this will allow additional teeth to become loose necessitating more trips to the dentist. Always the dentist;s recommendation is to pull the loose teeth.

Never do dentists take blame for the condition, but instead when two or three teeth thus become loose they now offer for a 'slight' fee the fitting of partial dentures. Later when old age forces some degree of osteoporosis further loosening will occur and now the dentist has opportunity to sell full dentures.

So, in conclusion, the gap tooth merely means someone, by dentist or other means, lost a tooth during their life experiences and the spreading out of the teeth has begun.

Nothing mysterious about it.

Perhaps a better thing we should ask about is should dentists be fined whenever they pull a wisdom tooth?

RE: Astronauts back on earth again today

The long term health effects of flying to Mars are very similar to those he experienced after a year in orbit. Hence the experiment. Now we need to find a healthy female volunteer so we can check for the side effects on females. Obviously if females can't take a year in space, then establishing future flourishing colonies on other places becomes a no=go,
We will also need to know the effects on children and also about child birth in space, Muuch more research is needed.

New tire

Well it stopped raining and it turned into a nice day, so I managed to accomplish what I consider the hardest part of the job.

The tire, the tube and the wheel were mated together today. Tomorrow if the weather holds I will jack up the tractor and commence the task of replacing the bad tire with the good one.

Also there would be the cost of the fuel to deliver the unused food to the collection centers, and any salaries involved. That's why recycling is not really an energy saver for society in general.

ali110 your picture didn't come through. No, sadly I don't farm as there is no money in it in the US anymore. In 1953 this model tractor tested out at the Nebraska test facility as 23 HP, but the calculation formula has changed since then. Sufficient to say that in 1999 I used this tractor to pull a 5,500 lb flat sled 110 yards in pulling competition.
