LoL. People worry about this? A rule my wife had was applicable. As you travel, have fun, but briing NOTHING home with you. My rule to her was similar. It lasted for decades. If your partner is not mature of mind, if the partner is not in agreement with you on important subjects, then do not marry them. If however they are mature of mind, you two often agree about many things and you both genuinely like each other, then go ahead and marry them if you both want. Their physical age is terribly unimportant.
Ahhh it is old stuff. What he did, Thomas Shea did worse in NYC a long, long time ago, and was found guilty of it too and even the other police there that night testified that Officer Shea did murder the African American youth. So there is absolutely nothing cutting edge about what happened in court this week. No new legal precedent, just the novelty of a dozen videos of it while it happened.
Chauvin? I thought we were talking about the Trudeau family. Hey if you guys & gals up North ever get the chutzpah to do something like that, can you please make it a televised guillotine thing?
About 4 years ago in Washington state at a McDonalds warehouse there was a brief scandal when upon following up on a tip it was learned that some of the hamburger meat there contained DNA that matched that of a missing child. Further testing discovered the meat of 2 other humans mixed in with the sampled McDonalds beef and beef product burgers. The investigation was continuing, but the papers never reported any more about it.
"Thus, I am asking you to stop commenting on them. I think that would be healthier for you"
18 U.S. Code § 875 "(c) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both."
I feel the same way about all those stabbing crimes in England. Something has to be done about those teenagers with knives. Maybe increase the jail time for possession of kitchen knives outside the home to something meaningful like 30 years of solitary confinement?
It is off topic, but thinking about it, if there is one major thing I miss about NYC it would be the incredible diversity of food, In those apt buildings some of the food cooking odors make me salivate just remembering them. Foods I haven't seen in 30+ years. Good stuff too.
That is not new. Fauci said the same thing months ago. We all have known for months.that as the virus keeps changing by mutation from generation to generation new different inoculations will be needed every 5 months or maybe yearly.
Grandsiozzie Regarding long-term side effects. Which would you prefer, death by Covid19 in 2021 or to experience slurred speech or muscle soreness in 2030? I voted for the second and they probably won't happen anyway.
Jim, I suspect the same. I am also wondering if she had a criminal history, but the dentist in question will only provide information to the police through his lawyer. To me that implies he knew something but hired or retained her anyway. Possibly a relative? I don't know. My friend's lawyer is working on it. Took about malpractice..
It is a healthy fear. Here, in my part of the US anyone older than 16 can now in theory get the vaccine. The problem is there is a shortage of supply and it is only given out by appointment. A wrench was thrown into the gears this week when the issuance of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine was placed on halt due to sudden blood clots in some of the women getting the dose. Yes, only women experience that side effect so far. The clots appeared within 2 weeks of getting the dose. One woman in my state died of the clot. Still the number of these sudden clots is small, only 8 cases I believe. We also have the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine and if anyone reading this can get those, I say go for it. I got mine. I had no side effects. I know some others who got vaccinated and also had no side effects. One user of CS I know did get vaccinated with the AZ vaccine, but she works in a hospital where she is exposed constantly to air being breathed out by those infected. The end result is a few weeks ago she got sick with Covid19, but as is the norm with infections after vaccination after a few days she tested negative and was released from her hospital bed and is back to work. Thus far the vaccines seem to mostly effective against all of the strains of Covid out there. That of course does not guarantee that will always be the case. Viruses evolve quickly to find ways around our antibodies and it is possible we will someday see one that walks right on by our antibody defenses. But not yet, so get the vaccine as soon as you can and try to avoid contact with those not yet vaccinated.
Actually it is not. True that some browsers and ISPs are wired to block you if you go there. Some are not. I have never had any warnings of malware there and I check my system fairly often as some stuff can slide by Windows Defender (but not much) and that site actually is clean. It is just media giants don't want you to go there because they would rather take your money in cable fees.
She was. Dead (H1N1) 10 years now. I miss her a lot. But if she hadn't died I would have never come here. But yes, I have my secluded place and her nieces (18 - 28 back then) used to come by for a day just to use our deck for sunbathing. Pleasant memories.
"Our fellow African American citizens,.." ??? But Lou you aren't American. You are Canadian, so they aren't your fellow American anything. I suppose I could write our fellow Canadian citizens of darker skin, but it wouldn't be true because I am not Canadian. So what is this 'our fellow' and 'we' all about?
I finished my Moderna a few weeks ago. No side effects. My arm was sore but only for about 4 hours. When I woke up the next morning there was no soreness.
An interesting sidelight possibly interfacing with deep space travel time issues is a new speculation being proposed by a Physicist named Vaccaro and written of in this months Popular Mechanics. She is postulating that each quantum particle has it's own rate of time passage and the rate of time passage for a solar system is based on the average rate of all of the quantum particles in the region. Her theory allows some particles to have backwards moving rates of time flow while some may be moving forward quicker than others or some not moving in time at all. She is postulating that whatever the rate of time passage for a quantum particle is, it can be influenced in one direction or another by collision with Neutrinos. She has proposed an experiment using multiple atomic clocks placed in a reactor pool in Australia. If her theory is wrong the presence of neutrino radiation from the reactor should have no effect on the atomic clocks. If however she is correct different clocks will have slightly different times. If correct further experiments will be done into bending or reversing time flow in the test apparatus.
