RE: What's In A Name

Good one.

RE: westen madicine

Total BS. Western medicine is anti-biotics, X-Rays (cats, MRIs, sona, etc) and 1,000 other things backwoods witch doctors only wished they had. Yeah, if you got cancer, good luck to you. Western medicine will slow the cancer for you, but that's all anyone can do. What is, is.

RE: Friends With A Price Tag

A big part of a long ago decision to hold no parties was based on not having any parasites. Worked too.

RE: IS THIS SITE REAL? DOES ANYBODY MEET SOMEBODY HERE

Glad to 'hear' this blog. Best wishes to both.

Avoid Waco, Texas this week.

A humorous thought (maybe) with a single shopping Mall holding hundreds of killers (per the accusations) and tens thousands of shopping malls around the state, maybe this is why the planners of Jade Helm 2015 labeled Texas an unfriendly state? laugh

Avoid Waco, Texas this week.

FlyJames, because the owner of the franchise license was a biker. So he ignored the police requests to cancel the biker lunch. The Restaurant Company canceled the franchise totally today. Lawyers circle with so many dead and wounded. And still not over.

Avoid Waco, Texas this week.

Bring your 44 and go see. Write us from jail and report. bye bye.

RE: NOT ALL QUOTATION IS CORRECT...

Two long ago teachers come to mind. One in a high school, and one at a college many miles away.

Yet they both said the same of Nationalism. "There is good Nationalism, and there is bad Nationalism."

RE: They Knew All

Which was silly because the big one had already been given out. E=MC(squared). 1 gram = 9 x 10 to the 20th power Ergs.

RE: It's possible

You left out too poor. laugh

RE: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY ON EARTH....

Blue Ridge Mountains, Sierra Madres, even Death Valley is gorgeous.

RE: Fluoride

Try carbon filter. Brita, etc.

Or go on a fluoride free well like I did.

RE: From Bangladesh

You post about Tourist Visas, but not about work Visas.

You may have them confused.

You do not look for work with a tourist visa.

You find the work, then ask for a work visa from the employer. If he thinks you can do the work, maybe he will pay for it.

That has nothing to do with tourism.

RE: yamaha1002

Kind of like the old San Francisco Bath Houses?

RE: What Shall We Say To These Things...

LJ What's wrong with facing the fact we are just ants in an anthill and at any time Mother Nature can drop boiling water on us, or smash us with a hammer? Ever see that (cruel) YouTube video where someone poured melted aluminum on an ant hill? The Universe cares about us as little as the video maker cared about the ants. The Universe is cruel and enjoy each day but don't waste time looking for meaning when there is none, and it is all just blind chance.

RE: Hinduism – A Religion Or A Way of Living?

Catfoot, that the Hindu Gods do not demand worship does not remove it from being a religion simply because they do have Gods. Actually I believe they have about 5 million Gods.

Nevertheless it is also a way of living.

RE: Abducting Children From Family ...

Well doing research on it shows the kids were in truant status, not home schooled status. There is a form to be submitted by the parents for each home schooled child. None of the ten have such forms submitted. In fact there is no documentation on them at all. There is so much wrong in this case they should have been taken some time ago. The original complainant to the sheriff? Nicole's own mom.

RE: All About The Niqab

Times changed and some laws and customs went away. When I was a boy we were taught a gentleman ALWAYS removes his hat entering a building, with the exception being uniformed civil service workers (police, fire, ambulance, etc) and soldiers wearing helmets. In a city owned building such as a hospital or a library that was the actual law and you should call the police if you saw someone wearing a hat. I think I was 6 back then. We also had classes for the boys on bowing and how to seat a lady at dinner and curtsying for the girls. Thing I am seeing is the veil is not in all Muslim countries. It is a sect thing. But here supposedly we have someone in a country where it is not required, attempting to introduce it into Canadian law.

RE: All About The Niqab

Jaq, you are absolutely correct. On both counts. We have many ski mask and stocking mask robberies and home invasions, and with the assent and support of the voters in those places the reaction to being caught while masked is extremist. Those who aren't comfortable, they let their feet do their voting and move to places more tolerant of those who are masked.

RE: what kind of dog do you have?

I have had some dogs that would attack, some that would run.

I note that one of my cats did attack the phone man and drew blood too.

RE: All About The Niqab

I was watching several ice tea commercials today and suddenly realized all of the models were whites with blue eyes.

Why no black models? Why no one in a habib? Why no Asian models?

RE: "FOR WHAT ITS WORTH"...(2)

Sir, you miss the point entirely. It had zip to do with thee, but addressed the concepts expressed.

What I am saying is CS IS real life. One can pretend it isn't, but yes it is. If I write a woman and promise to send her a plane ticket to come here, for her that is real. If I promise her I am true to her and no one but her, to her that is real. When I do not send the plane ticket on the promised day, or when she learns I have made overtures to 100 others, to her the rage is real. The second point is this is a community and as in the parable I provided, people talk and impressions grow. Some of us have other accounts on other sites and the words can spread, from town to town. Watch out for miss x, she lies, or she is full of hate. Such things are quite real. Eventually the word sometimes reaches employers or spouses too. So yes, CS is real and a mistake is made if one assumes CS never bites.

RE: "FOR WHAT ITS WORTH"...(2)

It is just like real life. We can do or say anything. Eventually just like real life enough data accumulates for impressions to form. I know a woman who very rarely spoke truths. Outwardly friendly she would offer to help old folks clean their houses, do yard work for them, help with shopping stuff like that. She was always, 'I love your yard, I love your dog, I love your ...' She had a string of old folk (and some 30 year olds too) who thought she was the best thing since DVDs came out. It ran for a year or two. Over time however some of the old folks learned somehow they had 'misplaced' some items. Valuable items. Ethel can't find the brooch she inherited from her grandmother, Sam can't find his wife's wedding ring, etc. The woman's mistake is this is a small town and eventually Sam and Ethel (and Bill and Jessica, etc.) both compared notes and drew a conclusion. That young couple in their 30s? One day they discovered both that their bank account was empty, and a check taken from the back of their check book had been falsely uttered and the person who cashed it gave a description matching the woman. When the young (and pregnant) 30 year old wife started smashing out the woman's car window with a sledge hammer and screaming at her to come outside, the woman elected to use her escape clause. Didn't do her any good of course because the Sheriff deputies followed up on the complaints. Yes, CS is just like real life. We know what floats and what doesn't and with time we begin to see things float.

We totally disagree about those that give one a hard time. If I start giving someone here a hard time, and once in a while it becomes necessary to do so, it does NOT mean I like them. Quite the opposite and if we were closer, just like that young ripped off mom-to-be, I would be smashing out some car windows or something equally blunt. There is a former church leader I dressed down on the steps of the courthouse in front of his congregation (I had learned of his abusing a young girl he adopted), who will attest I am easily capable of making my dislike very blunt and physical when such is needed.

RE: Tante Emma

I remember around age 6 shoplifting 4 or 5 blueberries from the fruit (they had fresh veggies too) store, getting home 200 yards away and having my mom come out and whale me before giving me a few quarters to go back to Mr. Ed's store and pay for them. That was my introduction to the power of the telephone. rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Tante Emma

The whole purpose of zoning is to destroy small business and force commuters/consumers to use major chains for all products. It works well here. The butcher and fish and general store or hardware store shops of my youth disappeared over 50 years ago. Walmart rules. Lowes and Home Depot rule.

Younger folk today grow up without neighborhoods and don't even know it.

My prayers and best wishes

A lot of the Americans I talk with around here are IMO over focused on the Capital City of Kathmandu. I blame the American Media which is having too much fun quoting Hillary or staking out Baltimore to cover News elsewhere. The result is in America the devastation in the highland villages is fairly unknown, although other countries do cover it.

This is the mountain village of Langtang the day before the earthquake.

This is the same village the day after the earthquake.

A total of 4 persons survived. Ir was earthquake, followed by a pressure wave of air, followed by avalanche to bury what was left. Only 1 building sheltered in rock cleft still stood afterwards. All 4 survivors happened to be inside that building. All Nepalis and tourists in other buildings and places in that village died.

This French news team visited the village. This video released today may be too strong for some folk. An effort is underway to dig out and identify the corpses.

RE: Tante Emma

Zoning. This neighborhood is not zoned for that business.
