Alot of meals I cook , are decorated up with fresh garden veggies, pickles, cheese. The meal doesn t have to be that big, but with all the added extras, it usually turns out okay, Lots to eat. And theres enough left overs for someone to take a snack home.
Hello Elegsabiff, When I have guests over for supper, I try and have the meal half cooked before they arrive. Something they ve never had before. And I make sure previous quests enjoyed what I was cooking. As I m finishing up cooking the meal, we sit in the kitchen and visit. After the quests leave I do the clean up, and wash dishes, I figure quests are there to relax, and visit, occasionally one of the quests make the salad. If I cook up a meal the quests have never had before, its a great conversation starter, good way to get new ideas for future meals. When I was younger, it was standard to have lots of booze around, just incase the meal was not that great, everyone would be to drunk to notice,
Hello Scotty, Today is my lazy day the yard work was done yesterday, ,the house is clean, now its time to order a nice meal, my treat to myself, and then watch the ballgame, and of course hold the sofa down. Men are rather good at holding sofas down,
Hello Ken, I tried roasted squash a few yrs back, really enjoyed them. Couldn t believe how good they were. They were roasted up, with a few garden spices, GREAT, As for the deer, most of the ones I got were from 100 to 200 yards away. A lot of open farmland and pasture here on the prairies. I always felt a bit of remorse putting an animal down, but did enjoy filling a few less fortunate people s deep freezes for winter. I have a few elderly relitives, and friends ,not in the best of health, they benifited from me hunting deer.
Nam, my little pooch, Moms dog has checked her room every morning he gets up, and every evening before bedtime looking for her, since she passed away. When a car pulls into the driveway , hes out the door checking who s in the passenger seat. Thats dedication. I promised Mom, just minutes before her passing he would be taken care off. Me with some health problems, and him getting older, we re there for each other. I m very fortunate to have him.
Hello Nam, I have a 14 yr old toy poodle, my deceased Moms pooch. Him and I go out visiting every so often, and every so often he gets the urge to go home. He ll start walking , always in the proper direction to home, We could be 30 miles from home visiting friends , or family, and he knows what direction to head to go home. Most people , who are away from home, only know 2 directions, up, and down, and here I have a little pooch who wants to head home , and always in the proper direction. He s a lovable little ball of fur, whose intelligence ,alot of times amazes me. Animals are a lot smarter than we give them credit for,
Hello Scotty, I like Mapmakers idea, Timetravel, change some history, and of course some events, (stupidity) in my life. As for figuring out what women want, ,that could be a never ending question,
There was recently a case here in Canada, where a young fellow figured he was a trans girl. And all efforts were made to insure all rights were given to the trans gender. No problem with that, but a while later he got a girl pregnant, and he was a male again. Definitely got me confused, I myself don t figure a lot of people especially younger people know what they want or are.
Hello Track You re not so much paranoid, but more in a little state of shock, You realize things are changing, I quit drinking in 93, and had the same train of thought you re having. It was a jolt to the system, and it took me a while to realize a whole lifestyle change was coming at me, And Thank God, I stuck with it, I found after I quit drinking, and smoking pot, the quality of my friends rose, true friends, gone were the troubles that came with my habits,........ Life definitely got better, , give it some time, you ll notice a proper change
Hello Solamente, I agree with you totally, As for machines, they re only as good as the person running them,(actual using it, or maintaining it,...) are these people ever checked out , people have been known to make mistakes,
Am totally appalled at the thought of eating a dog, I sitting here with a 14 yr old toy poodle at my side. He s been a friend, companion, and even though his size doesn t warrant it, I know he would do what ever he could to protect me. Dogs are not only pets, they can also be a persons best friend. I have a bit of a disability, and my little pal also gives me an extra purpose in life, more than I can say for a lot of people. In this crazy world , where true friends are rare, very rare, why would anyone even think of eating a dog,
Nam, I never seen them, but heard about them, in the 60s, at the US Canadian borders there were some signs mentioning to American visitors to Canada, Remember Canadian Beer is 5 percent alcohol, A few fellow who crossed the border playing ball in your country, told me thier wives could sure guzzle American beer,
Hello Nam, I know you thoughts had good intentions behind them, Theres alot more to those northern communities than people realize. If you and I ever get into an arguement , its going to be over who s going to be allowed to buy the next beer, Its going to be a Good Canadian Beer,
Nam , some of those waters the trucks cross, are deep in the bush, ever notice the roads,(trails) the trucks are driving on approaching the lakes, trails, over muskeg, , creeks, dirt roads.... Only good to drive over when completely frozen. Once the weather warms up , nothing goes over them. Besides making bridges, if possible, roads would have to be built, in spots where roads can t be built, (muskeg, creeks, bush, rock....) impossible,
Nam , alot of things are flown in , at great expense. You re seeing afew trucks on the show, there are probably a few hundred trucks hauling when the bush roads ,(with muskeg) are frozen. And we have to remember , theres probably some not so wild roads they haul on, TV shows tend to dramitize some things for the viewing audience. It is a dangerous, scary job though, and the is a number of those out there people aren t aware of.
Nam, those truckers, are driving over miles of water, numerous times on a one way trip. Some of those lakes are gigantic. Here in Northern Sask, Lake athabaska is 60 miles at the narrowest point. Couldnt make that many bridges.
Pat , those ice roads you mentioned, the designated routes, are quite often checked for ice thickness, thin ice is flooded to thicken it. Once cold weather sets in ,it has to be set in for a while for the ice to thicken. I ve driven , half tons over ice roads for work, the cracking of the ice is loud and scary, (even in a pick up) can be on the scary side. If you get off the designated route, you have no idea how safe it is,
Hello Nam, As usual you have a Good blog, And here I am looking at signs from the other side of the coin. On road construction how many people never seem to notice the Road Construction, Slow down, and here a good one stay behind pilot vehicle. And occasionally people miss the Flagman Ahead sign, be prepared to stop, On survey crews, I ve had vehicles go by me 50 mph at arms length Sometimes, lights, signs , and flagpeople are never noticed,
Sounds Like a fun time, It could get abit on the wild side if you have 2 western Canada People like Butterfly and myself there, We have been known to have a drink or two. But with Molly and Seagrit in charge of the bar, it ll be okay,
Hello Johnny Sparton, I know of a number of younger women with older men, within reason. In most cases it worked out okay In afew cases it didn't work out , (that's life). Those cases where it didn't work out ,get heard about more than the good instances that it did work out, I see no wrong in someone want a more mature person in their life,(within reason ) Whats wrong with a person wanting a more mature, more confident person in their life. It should be up to an individual to decide what makes them happy, not public opinion.
studecar, You mentioned electronic gadgets, this past winter ,up here, one day we had a blizzard, whiteout, very cold. I was at the garage up the street, and 4 young fellows were heading into one of the major centers 100 miles up the road. They didn t have proper clothing, winter gear, shovel, but they were confident because they had thier cell phones If they hit the ditch, They didn t realize they could be there for awhile, but they had thier cell phones, Definitely a different generation, I m old school, and proud of it,
RE: Are You Sick & Tired of Trump and Clinton?
I m not even an American, and I m tired of Hillery, and Donald, mind you I m also tired of a good number of politicians here in Canada.
