One thing I loved to see when I was on the road travelling was people actually slowing down at wildlife crossing signs,
Those signs are there for a reason, It actually showed some people actually do care,
And I ll assume the same will happen for pet rats.

I happen to be a history buff, and wasn t aware of what happened in the philipines. Two weeks ago I , while reading, I came across what you just mentioned. Just goes to prove there are parts of history, people don t mention, or should I say ,don t want to mention or remember.
Isn t that the truth, I should be dwelling upon the fact , I live in a Good country, have good neighbors and friends, , not listening to how crazy the world is getting.
Very sad what happened to the young lady,and what happened to the young lady in Pakistan,
What scares me is, Canada, my country which is taking in alot of immigrants lately, is allowing people ,(who committed the above mentioned discusting acts) into the country,
(robberies, domestic disputes...) Assault rifles are banned,handguns have very difficult to possess, and yet our crime rates continue to rise. 
Very sad indeed, The only thing definite right now is it is a very very sad day,

Yes, You had honorable intentions (I ve been in similar situations), and found myself not breaking up a fight, but being part of a worse situation, I ve quit being that white knight. More often than not those are loose, loose situations. We must be getting wiser with age,
Yes Winning is about courage and perseverance , the courage to look life in the Face, and not back down from what it throws at you, The courage to not back down from adversity, and make the best of you re adversity,
I like your poem, those words carry a BIG MESSAGE. As for kids, I ve always believe kids are a reflection of the parents. There is alway the exception for every rule, but I ve found If people are respectful, polite, and kind to others, the kids in most cases follow suit. And on the other hand , if the parents are spoilt, moody, and disrepectful of others, the kids are in most cases the same, They re Great little ones, and I have to remember not all kids are like these two, I guess adults can be spoilt too.
Here at our local hospital, a good number of immigrants have been hired. (from all around the world) . And they re helped with learning to speak English, with coaches, and teachers. A lot of these new comers to Canada are very nice people, and Great workers, But there are a portion of them at the hospital who refuse to speak English and when instructed on what job duties they have reply ME NO SPEAKY ENGLISH, Haven t seen you in a while, nice to see you back The more the merrier.

( I ve noticed it when shopping) Makes me wonder about this situation,
I wonder what signs the Zoo officials had posted at the entrance of the zoo, for the do s, and don ts of visitors Occasionally when I baby sit, and go out in public, I make sure youngster I babysit is within arms reach. I figure I am responsible for that child, and that childs return home. , hope something is learn from the death of the gorilla, a majestic animal.
