RE: Thankfully they have health insurance

Hello Johnny Spartonhandshake I happen to have ms , and each year there is afew new drugs out to slow the progression of the diseaseconfused , and these drugs come with side effects, and the possibility of workingconfused
Ms has been studied for the last 120 yrs, endless research and money has been spent on this disease, and the end result is a possibility of working, with side effects, doh
These drug companies are preying on the purse strings of sick, desparate people, Talk about legalized theft.
My ms , after 12 yrs doesn t seem to be progressing, proper diet, exercise seem to be the best medicine for me, but sooner than later some docter will want to put me on some new medicine, confused You can imagine my reply.
You have a Great Day Johnny, cheers

RE: The World Is In A Different Place

Hello DDawson59handshake The world is definitely a different place from afew decades ago. A good friend of mine and myself were talking the other day about life before computors, and cell phones.I myself think there was a better work ethic amongst people prior to computors, and cell phones. I ve noticed manners , and being polite took a big hit with the advent of texting. People skills have taken a big hit with cell phones. When I go do my early morning shopping its nothing to see people walking ,stopping and checking their cell phones every 10 ft they walk, doh But that's supposed to be progress, confused
You have a Good Day,cheers

RE: California in trouble?

Hello Johnny Sparton, wave from Saskatchwan. We ve had a dry year here this year. Lots of northern Sask fires. 13,000 people were evacuated from northern communities to southern cities. We even had members of our military sent fighting fires to save northern communities. This has been our worst yr for forest fires. I sure hope it isn t a sign of the future.
In the last day or two rain has helped out with the fires, but it was a rather tense situation here.
Good luck to to the people of California with those fires, take care.

RE: How It Is Done

Hello Cat,wave wave I tried rabbit a year ago, enjoyed it. I happen to like meat, well done, yay I know a number of people who like their steaks red, confused To each their own. In my younger days, helping my Grandparents butcher animals ( on their farm)I seen enough blood, whether it be chickens, turkeys, cows, or pigs, don t care to see any red on my plate.

RE: A NAGGING FEELING :(

Hello Dewiqueenwave , I happen to have ms, (have to use a cane to walk) I am stuck in my routines , being limited as to what I can do. But once every week or two ,as tough as it can be, I go out shopping, visiting , breakfast with a family member, and maybe have a coffee at the casino. That outing can be rather strenuous at times, but the change of scenery, sure takes my mind off the daily routine I get into.yay yay
Seeing old friends, having a nice meal, browsing in the stores , can sure be an uplifting experience, well worth it.
You have a Great Day,cheers

RE: Nutella...

Hello, wave I tried Nutella, didn t mind it, it was something different, but if it didn t exist I won t miss it. I m fortunate, I have a number of elderly neighbor ladies who are forever sending me over jars of homemade jams, (crabapple, strawberry, rhubarb,.... ) , the good stuff, yay yay

RE: So another color beckons me

Hello Ken,wave My Grandmother had raspberries in her garden, and just loved them. It was amazing what she did with them. Delicious jams , jellies, toppings for ice cream, toppings for her baking,..... And in the colder winter months a jar of her raspberry preserves hit the spot. And Grandmother was always tinkering with making the occasional batch of wine, and I m sure she must of made some raspberry wine. Talk about a multi purpose berry.
Grandmother has been gone now for a number of years, but when ever I see raspberries ,I always think of her and the delicious treats she would make up with them.

RE: Strengths and Weaknesses

Hello Socrateswave handshake , I ve in past have worked with younger bosses. The good ones thrived in their position, they were in that position of authority for a reason. And some of the younger bosses I had, had their frailties come forward , and they didn't last long. I did my best to work with my bosses not getting upset with them, but realizing they were in a position I didn t want. I couldn't be bother getting upset with younger bosses, unless they interfered with my work , and responsibility.
In past I ve been scarred by some bad relationships, and was very leery about future ones. Swore to myself I wouldn't put myself in that situation again. Maybe that strength, explains why I m still single. Strengh or weakness. Life is a lesson. I think as we age we realize some strengths could be weaknesses.
One of my older bosses, an engineer, once told me , > When a person makes a mistake, and learns from it , and improves on it, its not a mistake, its a lesson.
Socrates, handshake , you have a Good Day My Friend, yay

RE: What Do People Remember Best?

Hello Cat, wave , Back again, you mentioned having nothing but bad news on the agenda. Whenever I was involved with a bad news situation,I tried to remember a worse situation I was in, and say we ve been thru worse times, and we have the attributes to get thru this one. In a bad news conversation, drawing from previous experiences can soften any bad news scenario.
( I just hope the people being confronted by bad news, aren t the type ,who give up, and refuse to listen to any words of experience.)

RE: What Do People Remember Best?

Hello Cat,handshake As for what I remember, I remember conversation, and blogs that get me thinking, learning something new. I always think there too much criticizing ,and dissecting in conversation, so I love to hear compliments.
I also believe a good part of having a good conversation is listening, a lot of people couldn't be bothered to hear anothers point of view.doh
Cat ,we re in the computer, texting era, the fine art of commuting and dealing with people is becoming a lost art, doh
When I was working, I had one young engineer, who AlWAYS ended a meeting ,or conversation on a bad note.He could never say anything good or positive about anything ,or anyone, You could imagine how much I spoke to him.
Oh Well, you have a Good Day,handshake

RE: Sort out one's life

Hello peonyjenny, wave I happen to be a person with an illness, ms, its not progressing, but I have my good days, bad days, have to use a cane to walk. And I have developed a Great appreciation of life, yay I ve sorted out my life, and realize I m still fairly active, and realize I could be in lot more worse position in life. I do lots of volunteer work for charities, and see so many people in much more worse position in life.
Having Ms ,has taken a lot of activities out of my life, but it has made me slow down and appreciate so much more in life , I guess its a case of having less is more., You have a Good one,yay

RE: What do you think will happen after you die?

Hello Socrates, handshake Lately with me , not in the best of health, and getting older, I have been giving a lot more thought to what happens after death, confused In past I had my doubts of anything happening, but with the death of a good number of friends , and family, I do believe that there is some sort of continuous of our souls, and spirits. I ve had a few remarkable , unexplainable happenings ,after loosing a love one.I believe there is something there, after death, just haven't got a proper explaination of it.
As for unexplainable happenings you wonder, the evening after my fiancé funeral I was sitting in my back yard , in tears , thinking of my fiancé, when an old backyard light suddenly came on for no reason.(the light was never used, and hasn t been turned on for 10 yrs)and it never ever came on again, the bulb was burnt out. I like to think it was my fiancé s way of telling me she was okay. I have had a few similar happenings, and do believe there is something there after death.
You have a good day My friend, handshake

RE: What Now?

Hello Cat,wave One of my cousins , just went thru a similar situation as you mentioned mentioned with John and Mary. My cousins sisters were very leery about his wife,(prior to their marriage), and told him their opinion of her. And he refused to believe any of it.Well 8 yrs after they were married , came divorce. Hes selling his acerage, and more than likely giving up half his pension to his ex wife. ( apparently his ex wife had been planning this the whole time) Maybe someone should have spoken up ,a lot louder earlier.

RE: 5 years today we lost our mum

Hello Ian, handshake , My thoughts are with you Ian. I lost my Mom , 2 yrs ago to cancer, it seems like yesterday. Memories of Moms last year with cancer, haunt me to this day, but I keep reminding myself of Moms better days.
Remember , when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
You take care Ianhandshake

RE: Anarchy ...

Hello Dedovix, handshake Give a Man a bank and he ll rob the worldrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing , Isn t that the truth
And Bankers are very good at word play, We have a few banks in Canada here, that lost money last year, they only profited 950 million dollars, not a billion, How stupid do they think the public is,confused
You have a Good Day,cheers

RE: westen madicine

Lately we ve had an influx of immigrants coming from all over the world, for jobs, better living conditions, and so on. They seem to love western medicine, a lot, they ve told me this. They like it so much , THEY RE trying to bring the rest of their families over, especially the family elders, because they have little health care at home. Theres a lot more people coming to live in N America, than North Americans moving else where, confused

RE: All About The Niqab

There was a recent case in Montreal, where 2 foriegn university students were planning to go overseas to fight with Isis. Authorities stepped in and took care of the situation. When the authorities stepped into the dorm where the 2 students lived, All the other foreign students were hiding their faces, confused . They didn t do anything wrong, but they HAD TOO HIDE THIER FACES. Were they ashamed of something.Could someone explain this to me.

RE: Better to have loved and have lost...

Hello Socrateswave It is better to have loved and have lost, than to have never have loved at all, I agree with totally. From that situation, a person learns from. Whether it be their mistakes , or the other persons mistakes. Life is a lesson.
Its just like I ve worked with people who never make mistakes, probably because they never did anything to make a mistake at.
Learning from ones mistakes ,is a life education.
You have a Great Day Socrates, handshake
