It depends..... my fiancee doesn't care what I believe in (I don't think) but she also knows that anything she believes in is ok by me (especially as she is an atheist, and not going to try and drag me to listen to some maniac shouting hysterically to a congregation of rednecks) -
as long as she neither trys to convert me nor sacrifice my slumbering naked body in some earth mother ritual while I am fast asleep.......... on second thoughts that might be fun!
That's being a little 'smug' - whether one is an atheist or a Christian or a hindu or a Mercurialist 'smugness' reaps what it sows (normally bad karma)!
By the way, reporting somebody does not automatically get them banned... it is up to CS not the members to decide!
My advice is this (thought you two were joking) - keep forums friendly and EMAIL each other is you have a problem with each other (but don't block each other as then one of you will get frustrated and blow a fuse).
Very sad...she was/is a very good person but heck nobody is perfect........... I just hated being preached to by a sinner and found the hypocrisy overwhelming; I couldn't cope with it.
Do we have the start of a Christian/atheist love match?
My fiancee is an atheist.
My first wife was an atheist.
My second wife was an atheist.
My third wife was a Christian - she still claims to be, though she is convinced I shall go to Hell!
Everybody is different, but I have never met anybody who lied to me as much as my last wife; it takes a very brave person to be a Christian and do their best to keep to their beliefs and not to be subject to ridicule when they fail to live by the standards they claim to believe in.
HealthyLiving seems to be a non-dogmatic type and not taking the bible literally word for word....... it must be Hell for those who take every word literally and have to weave convoluted theories to resolve all the conflicts - a simple straightforward faith is so much nicer - and sane!
Oh well, I guess I just had this crazy concept that capitalism was 'the survival of the fittest' and boy - was I wrong!
I know it's not funny, but supporting a company that can't compete = more pain in the future............. you either have state control of industry or you don't - trying to do both immediately creates conflicts of interest and conflicts of interest make a bad problem worse!
I feel very sorry for those who shall inevitably lose their jobs; is pretending they have a real job now better than the truth hitting them later?
The world produces more cars than it can sell - and has the capacity to produce millions more than it can sell........... surely it'd be better to let the most efficient companies survive so that we can all benefit?
My deceased dad's September 1963 Ford Super Anglia had over 760,000 miles 'on the clock' (actually clock only went up to 99,999 miles) when featured in a national newspaper about 15 years ago............ I believe it's done nearly 1,000,000 miles now!
I shall endevour to read all the posts when my tiny little brain can maybe handle it - this could take a considerable time, as I have given into the common usage in modern life of only thinking in tiny little 'sound bites' or is it 'sound bits and bytes'!
I heard it was actually going to be called 'IOU' - like about a zillion trillion dollars!
New models coming out include:
The 'Chapter11', the 'Dodgie Dodge Dodgem Car' and one called simply 'The Electric Car' (like an electric chair but one that the CEO can commit suicide in while driving after being 'bumped' up the fender by a 'Chapter11 Mark2'!).
Some social scientists believe that everything happens for a reason; this is a nice way to eventually come to the conclusion that the concept of 'free will' does not exist!
You know what I mean, don't you?
Criminals (soon to be known as 'The Geneticenvirochallenged' have no choice as they are programmed both genetically and by their environment so they cannot help themselves doing anything 'bad' (another non PC word soon to be abolished from the English language as being insulting to some members of the 'geneticenvirochalleged fraternity'!).
We also have no right whatsover to take the credit for doing anything 'good' (it is still ok to use the word 'good' but a little suspect as if 'bad' doesn't exist then 'good' should not exist either!) either! This because some of us are genetically and environmentally pre-disposed to sometimes do 'good' things and therefore deserve no credit and are only to be pitied!
Therefore everything happens for a reason - i.e. it is 'cause and effect'......... or nothing happens for a reason which is saying the same thing in a negative way.
RE: Isn't God with Everyone?
Hear! Hear!I hate all believers and unbelievers equally!
