I believe that cloning of certain muscle cells, nervous tissues, organs, etc., etc I could most definitely agree with.
I wouldn't agree with the cloning of a whole human being because that would be allowing medical science to play God and nobody should be in a position to be able to do that.
The government would most definitely have to have a hand imposing sanctions, safety regulations and laws that will govern human cloning.
As long as there are Republicans in office, I don't think human cloning is going to become a viable issue.
I wouldn't think you could because you can't actually see the person. Hearing someones voice is one thing but being with them and watching their communication style and knowing their gestures would be a much better way to be able to judge someones sincerity.
If you are in a committed relationship and going to be married, yes it is very important to find out the expectations that you and he will have of one another. You should be able to speak openly and freely with the other person about ANYTHING...because communication is the hub and most important part of any successful relationship. You cannot afford to be hesitant, fearful or like you are invading his privacy, it's better to get certain topics out in the open and not have any false misgivings about the other person and their goals, wants, desires, fears, hopes, etc.
If this is the person you are going to marry then you both should be able to relate anything to each other. You can't build a successful relationship with someone if you can't simply talk to them. If he would judge you on the "type" of questions you would ask then that may be because he is uncomfortable talking about it or he has something to hide. Either way you have a right to know what he thinks and feels and there should be no secrets between the two of you.
You can't build a lasting love on the grounds of deception and deciet and by talking with each other you will both know if you are on the same page.
Well see, number 46 told me that he was bringing her friends so that makes it a total of 99.........I'm so entertaining!!!!!! I swear they are all tame, they don't bite and all of them have had their shots!
Wow, how true. I can relate to everything you have said and it makes complete sense to me. Today was a day wrapped in the funny pages for me and I'm just sitting back taking everything in and letting it bounce off of me.
You have nailed it!!!!! Great post Ice, enjoy your evening!
In many authoritarian regimes the prosecution case is, in practice, believed by default unless the accused can prove they are innocent, a practice called presumption of guilt.
This is a totally true story and happened to ME personally about 15-16 years ago.
I had moved in with my father after living with my grandmother for about 2 years. Upon moving in with him, I had to clean out the bedroom from when his old roommate lived there. When cleaning I found a full length mirror that had a crack in it at the bottom, so I decided to pitch it out.
I went outside under the carport (where cars are parked) and set the mirror behind some trashcans and was going to take it to the curb on trash day.
That evening I was in the house watching TV and my father was out having one of his late night binges. I saw headlights flood the living room so I knew that he was pulling into the driveway. I then proceeded to hear a loud BOOM and that was followed by the slam of the kitchen door.
My father came staggering into the house drunker than a lumberjack on payday...he proceeds to loudly yell at me "Whose the dumb SOB that put the F'ing mirror behind the trash cans out back???" and I said simply "I did, why?"
He says "Because when I came around the corner all I saw was headlights and I thought it was a car coming straight at me and I swerved and hit the side of the house!!!!!" I proceeded to tell him "well maybe if you weren't so drunk you'd realize that cars can't DRIVE under carports!!!!"
I still laugh when I think about it to this day....just almost makes me laugh till I cry!!!! You had to be there,it was truly priceless!
Nuala, You have many children right? Are they able to enjoy a simple childhood without fear of violence?
I live in a very small town population 550, so I basically know everyone and have lived here my entire life. I don't lock my car doors at night, don't have to worry about violence on a daily basis. My children are able to ride their bikes and play outside without fear for their immediate safety, but I don't allow them to play unsupervised because anything can still happen.
Three weeks ago a man down the street from me barricaded himself, wife and two small children in the family's home. The wife managed to contact police and there was a subsequent 8 hour standoff at gunpoint. The man drank himself into a drunken stupor and passed out in the house and thank god the wife & children escaped unharmed. The man in question was taken into custody and put into a phsyciatric ward for evaluation. These were people who had moved into the new development and I have no idea as to their identity.
It just goes to show that even in small towns there are isolated incidents of violence, it's everywhere.
I have done that in the past, but after much thought I came to some sensible conclusions. You don't know what kind of life they have until you spend a day in their shoes. People who seem to have it altogether may be a complete mess inside and they put on a "happy face" to hide it. I rationalized that there are genuinely happy people in this world and they are the ones with the positive outlook and it radiates from them from the inside to the outside, I associate myself with these people and in doing so, I can soak up some of that aura. But as far as wishing my life were someone elses, no because from experience I've learned that appearances are quite deceptive and the grass isn't always as green as it appears over the fence. I learned that only by becoming the person I want to be viewed as, I have changed myself into that person I admire and aspire to be like. Be happy with who you are and what you have and the rest falls into place.
