Not many things I haven't tried to touch...rolling on the floor laughing

RE: The FreeThinker

Wouldn't mind, only the reason I got the learning bug was because I was the only memeber of my family denied a basic education. My parents took me out of school to work ages 15.

I had to hitch hike up 93 miles each way in the winter, 3 nights a week, to go to night school, and had to pay for it myself, when I was 18 and working.

RE: How do "YOU" use" Vasoline"

I can't even touch the stuff. I'm allergic.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: The FreeThinker

Sorry I was a bit short. Today has bothered me a lot.handshake hug

RE: The FreeThinker

So true, even though I have been slated most of my life for learning every aspect of everything I encounter , if I can, or have time. The more I learn the more possibilities there are. No way to make up my mind whent he world authorities haven't even done that on any subject, scientific or otherwise.

The day I start to think I definitively know something, is the day I lie down and die. Until then, all things are a possibility, including the premise that all things are possible.wine teddybear

RE: The FreeThinker

Type the words free and thinker, one after the other, into google and see what threads it references......

Not even going there on the rest of your stuff. Hate boxing things with nitpickers.wine

RE: The FreeThinker

Yeah saw that. Often like some of what I read there too. You know me though. Take all with a pinch of salt. Believe in the possibility of everything, and nothing, all at the same time.hug

RE: Hello

Well you write, like you just did. Then other people reply. Then you reply again. Sometimes it even turns into a conversation...laugh

Figure of speech......comfort

RE: The FreeThinker

The word freethinker on the net is synonymous with athiest..., so no need to worry about God there. rolling on the floor laughing

RE: The FreeThinker

“Freethinkers are those who are willing to use their minds without prejudice and without fearing to understand things that clash with their own customs, privileges, or beliefs. This state of mind is not common, but it is essential for right thinking;”

Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

RE: The FreeThinker

By your above definition, then everyone is a free thinker.wine

RE: Citizenship

No. I just didn't explain it very well.hug

RE: Judgement

“Knowing a great deal is not the same as being smart; intelligence is not information alone but also judgment, the manner in which information is collected and used”

Dr. Carl Sagan

“It is exactly because a man cannot do a thing, that he is a proper judge of it”

Oscar Wilde

"Experience does not err. Only your judgments err by expecting from her what is not in her power."

Leonardo da Vinci

RE: Judgement

It is difficult seeing people hurt, and watching them express it, or try to. When, what, and how much of ourselves to share to try to make things right requires great judgement.....teddybear

RE: Judgement

thumbs up

I love your depths.bouquet

RE: Judgement

I judge all the time. I think it it normal and natural to compare and contrast all you see and hear and interact with.

There would be no opinions without judgement, and weighing things in the balance, nor would there be, without judging what we think we know, against what we hear, or experience, or see.

Judgement is about comparisons I think, positive and negative.

RE: If you could go to dinner with anyone, who would it be?

I figure I'd have covered many aspects of society and have a diversity of interests too, because all of these people have lived very real and not always very pleasant lives, so the evening would never get boring, and Willie or Kris could always sing a little, and Robin and Whoopie tell jokes to lighten the mood now and again. wine

RE: What's your Philosophy

Sounds like mine is just aboutthe opposite of yours......rolling on the floor laughing comfort

RE: If you could go to dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Kevin Klein, Whoopie Goldberg, Robin Williams, Jack Nicholson, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristopherson, Patricia Arquette, and Anthony Hopkins.

RE: Citizenship

I think there is something in that.

I am sorry about your relationship not lasting.

My son has known his girlfriend for over a year and she has still not been able to come to visit Ireland.

Ukranian women are among the most beautiful, best educated, sociable, hard-working, cultured women on the planet. Any country would be lucky to have them.

Pity governments are so blind.wine

RE: it amazes me how many people on here that do no believe in God

Maybe you should actually state facts...... and it might be a good idea to read this........scold

RE: it amazes me how many people on here that do no believe in God

Nothing condescending or sarcastic about my remarks. They are just straight up honest opinions.

You obviously have some bee in your bonnet about me and my remarks, which got your hackles up, even got way under your skin, but since you haven't a clue about me, I really don't give a damn what you think.

Now comment away all you like, disparage my character all you like, and be as small as you really are, I won't answer. You are just showing yourself up for the woman hater you really are......rolling on the floor laughing

RE: it amazes me how many people on here that do no believe in God

You too Trish. Too many people sadly missed on here, not least of all you...hug bouquet

It's actually a pleasure being on here today and finding you and JB back. Kinda feels like home again........teddybear

RE: it amazes me how many people on here that do no believe in God

She's new. Maybe we need to go easy on her and give her time to build up to where others are.........Changing beliefs rarely happen overnight, and usually require a lot more education than people who make those kind of statements have...........wine

RE: Citizenship

You misunderstood. The child does not have dual citizenship. It is denied Irish citizenship. All immigrant children born here have to go back to their original countries, unless their parents fit the regualtions for application as, and are accepted as, citizens. Inorde to dot hat they also have to have guaranteed work for a certain number of years etc... The list in endless.

In fact many children of immigrants from eastern europe have had to go back, due to the recession, and no work contracts being renewed. Some of their children were born here 10 or more years ago and now have to live in Poland etc......
