That does seem to be the case. My son has just been sent to Beijing for the next couple of months and says he is finding it easy to communicate with people there, because most of them speak English too as a second language.
Frequently. Due to circumstances way beyond my control, I have an almost total social ignorance that can't be fixed.
It can be a handicap sometimes, but I live in hope of someone with super powers seeing beyond my social gaffes to the kind hearted intellectually stimulating genius that lies beneath,(said tongue in cheek for those who don't know my sense of humour).
I think more countries voted yet if they didn't like their government and how it was run, thinking that eu running it would be better.....
In Ireland we have a true democracy in that if there is an important decision to be made, up to the present time, then every person in the country, who has a vote, can decide for themselves in a referendum.
Most of the people here, who understand the importance of taking responsibility for their own decisions, like that choice.
Voting "yes" would take that privelidge away forever.
It is only in a monetary way that Ireland would gain if people voted "yes" this time, certainly not socially or culturally.
It occurred to me in a very real sense last winter when sometimes I had no visitors for up to 5 days at a time due to the weather and their other ocmmitments.
I would like companionship in old age because I like to chat and laugh, but if it is not to be then so be it. I am happy enough with my own company and my many interests that keep me occupied.
I paint. I love it. I am working towards an exhibition on the 27th November that I hope will go well. I also teach sometimes and really love that. I found my groove about 20 years ago and have never worked at anything I didn't like ever since.
Kitty the only "cure" for what you have is hip replacement. It can be done by local anaesthetic these days and you are back on your feet in 24 hours. There is nothing else to be done for it.
The hip replacement will leave you pain free with full mobility for at least 10 years.
I know what it is like living in constant pain. It does wear you down and take the joy out of life. Anyone not living that kind of life has no clue what it does to a person.
With arthritis, people often become resistant to the painkillers, and the pain is severe. In my hands it is similar to someone having smashed all my fingers with a hammer, (Osteo not rheumatoid). (The comparison is a real one, because in my youth I have often missed a nail and got my fingers instead!).
Arthritis is often coupled with fybromyalgia too, which is rheumatics of the muscles, coupled with soul-destroying fatique.
Anyone telling you it is about attitude and being as young as you feel, and to buck yourself up, would do well to live with what you have, even for a day..... They'd be singing a different tune then.
RE: HOW I DESPISE MY OWN IGNORANCE
A man with super powers such as yourself might be able to convince me to do just about anything.....
