RE: COME ON BE HONEST

Hi Morganwave I don't see where you should have to defend your position on what you do on this site. It is none of his business.

RE: COME ON BE HONEST

What business is it of yours what other people do? You are here a very short time. Others have been here for years and they don't go around telling everyone what to do.

RE: COME ON BE HONEST

And this from someone who has no pic up for people to see who he is..... Go sort out your own back yard first.

Robert, if you spent more time e mailing people on here for yourself, and less time griping about what you think other people should do, then you might be more successful and less of a whinger.wine

Doesn't anyone pay with cash any more?

RE: What are you doing right now?

RE: organ donations?

I hope you are not lumping me with " you people"........and I have never followed a crowd in my life......

If you read my original post I said I wanted to be used as a cadaver for medical students. Never mentioned organ donation.........

I only answered this thread to keep it going, and acted devil's advocate.

As for your nurses. In the olden days they did not train on cadavers. Doctors did. Their only job with the dead was to dress them and have them presentable for families. They could be a lifetime doing that and never come across a "noisy" cadaver.

I am sorry to hear about your son. That will certainly have coloured your experience of all this.

RE: organ donations?

Got this on Wiki......

Deceased (formerly cadaveric) are donors who have been declared brain-dead and whose organs are kept viable by ventilators or other mechanical mechanisms until they can be excised for transplantation. Apart from brain-stem dead donors, who have formed the majority of deceased donors for the last twenty years, there is increasing use of Donation after Cardiac Death - DCD- Donors (formerly non-heart beating donors) to increase the potential pool of donors as demand for transplants continues to grow. These organs have inferior outcomes to organs from a brain-dead donor; however given the scarcity of suitable organs and the number of people who die waiting, any potentially suitable organ must be considered.

Althought being brain dead has been proven to be something that people, in the right circumstances can recover from and remember what happened to them,:ie: that the conciousness can live beyond brain death.....so hard knowing if that can be counted as criteria any more for harvesting.

I think it is now considered to be a given, that if a person cannot live without a machine doing the body's work for it, where vital organs cannot function on their own, that organ harvesting is considered ok.

RE: what kind of bicycle you have?

I only like tricycles because I fall off bikes.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: organ donations?

My body is going to medical science to be used as a cadaver for students or whatever they want it for. The organs won't be much good when I am finished with them.rolling on the floor laughing

Hi Gussiwave wine teddybear Hope you are well and happy.bouquet

RE: Criminally Prosecuted

Basically that would be making it a crime to tell lies.doh

It's no different than in real life, and people no longer get prosecuted for it there now either. You'd have to prove that it endangered life or something.

It could be seen as hiding your identity to prevent stalkers and therefore not a crime at all.........comfort

RE: Where would you like to live ?

Haven't been to Malta yet, and Ireland is beautiful but not for people who are prone to arthritis because of all the rain.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

Just because they are not disputed does not make them true.......

They probably have better things to do, like work towards world peace, by garnering situations where they can bring their troops home at last.....A bitth cert is very small change in light of some of the bigger stuff.......doh

And no it is not specifically because we disagree, though that is part of it.

For me, if your facts and my facts don't gel, then there has to be middle ground, therefore your truth can't be truth.....That, to me, is common sense.........

(I am nothing if not brutally honest, and you will notice that I never once said I was right about anything, just that you could not be right). You suggested that I thought myself as right. I just didn't refute it, because it was not important..... Just like Obama might have thought it not important to refute the crap about his birth cert not being legal.........

In law it is called reasonable doubt..

Am I making any more sense now?sad flower

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

I acknowledge it might appear that way to you, even though that is not how it is. I have written before many times in many threads that I never imply.......

The problem as I see it, is that you might respect me as a person, (I have only your word for that), and I might, just might respect you as a human being too, but, I am being perfectly honest here in saying that I do not respect your views on Obama, since I feel that you have not done enough to find out whether what you are saying it true or not before spouting it as gospel. Same goes for all the others who have done the same.

Nothing smug about that statement, just saying it as I see it, as you portray it.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

You are making leaps again. Who says only I understand? No one only you.

It is not a put-down. Just saying what I see in very simple terms, and I am not the only one who sees this. It is just acknowledging that in this biased, very negatively one-sided thread attacking Obama. And since you seem to be shouting the loudest, (protesting the most)...........dunno

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

And you came into theis thread just to have a go? Sad!doh

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

Unlike people in your part of Ireland, we get more than RTE here.
We have 9 basics + sattelite. Some of us actually read too.wine

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

From other parts of the world it is easy to see what is happening on a larger scale, and you are right, it is very difficult for them to come out from under decades of brainwashing and conditioning to be able to see anything or not fear any other views but their own.

I think any nation under similar circustances would be the same though. It just makes it very difficult to discuss anything with them, when they acknowledge nothing but what they have been inseminated with.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

I just love these leaps in thinking. I never mentioned anything to do with whom you might hate or otherwise. Your surmising that I am smug is a bit far-reaching too I think.
Sarcasm and reading between the lines goes right over my head as I choose to ignore it completely, so, a bit wasted on me.

I said what I had to say, using the words that said what I wanted to say, no more and no less.

I got that you have contempt for certain policies, ideas, and agendas, (maybe, if, like you, I were to read between the lines, that might even include me at this stage)rolling on the floor laughing . That comes across in the thread quite clearly, but what is coming across as well, is that if someone disagrees with you,( and if you notice very few are doing that), they will get pounced on, like I did, so it is not worth commenting on anything that doesn't agree with you. It works two ways you know.

Please don't mistake my not caring what anyone else thinks, for smugness. They are not the same thing at all.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

And I would comment the same about any country or poster that I saw as not holding all the facts or spouting ignorant (uneducated and uninformed)views.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

What you don't seem to realise is that the news you get and what the rest of the world sees is quite different. It is well documented that we get to see two sides of a much bigger picture.

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge.........and according to what you all write here you certainly lack knowledge. If you didn't, I wouldn't have commented. No point in losing your cool about it.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

I have nothing against people being judged fairly, but Obama is not being judged that way. Ignorant people are holding a kangaroo court and finding him wanting according to their standards, not on his true value, both positive and negative... and that is my objection to what is being done in these threads. And from people who purport to know better too.

RE: Obama's Birth Certificate... View It Here!

What gets me is that people , supposedly good people, should even be looking for bad things to do with other people. The link that was posted was filled with hateful comments, all one sided, against someone whose motives they are too close minded to even see, let alone be able to judge. Ironic isn't it that America's great white hope lies in the hands of a not-so-great (in your collective opinion), black man, who is doing his best to bring a very reluctant American people kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

RE: Men fear commitment more than women do

There is something in what you say, not in the genes maybe, but in tradition, in that men often have to think about being the breadwinners for a family for the next 20 years, and that is often enough to make them run for cover, or just not commit in the first place.

In the 21st century though, women are also breadwinners, so they have to think like men did traditionally, and it might also be part of why they don't commit.

In my opinion though, women's fear of commitment comes from a different source. They are less likely to commit because of the attitudes of some men regarding monogamy and devotion to one partner, or lack of that commitment these days. Sometimes that works vice versa too, depending on the experience the man has had with previous women.wine

The quick-wittedness and the humour are entirely yours Smoky. Even my best efforts are sardonic.wine rolling on the floor laughing hug
